"My wife and I don't need much. Just a good meal, good service and a place where the other diners are respectful of each other. We happened to be seated in a room that had a table full of Lawyers. Oh well, two out of three isn't bad. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks and you can't teach a Lawyer good manners. The steak knives we were given really weren't needed. We could actually cut them with our forks and the service.......our server seemed to have the uncanny ability to show up right when we needed something WITH that item in hand then would promptly disappear until needed again. As if that wasn't pleasent enough, she actually would wait if we were speaking to each other rather than rudely interrupting. What a concept !"

"The food, service, atmosphere was excellent. I would have given the food 5 stars, however I ordered the crabcake as an appetizer. Being born and raised in Maryland, I am very picky when it comes to crabcakes, and I was not impressed. It was thin, full of filler, and drowned in a sauce. The calamari, on the other hand was excellent. It was not chewy or rubbery, as is the case with most. To be honest, I have not found a crabcake in any Kansas City restaurant that compares with what I can get on the east coast."

"My husband and I went for our 5 year wedding anniversary because we wanted to try a new place. The filet mignon was one of the best I've had. My husband had the Ribeye which was good but the filet was definitely better. Kinda pricey but good for a special occasion. Everyone was very nice."

"We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and Pierponts did not disappoint. It had warm ambiance, delicious food, and excellent service. I would highly recommend the 3 or 4 course small plate option. It was a great value and the portions were just right. After a hectic week, this was a great way to unwind (think lemon drop martini!) and enjoy a night out. We will be back."

"Pierponts small plates menu is a great deal - 3 courses for almost the same price as a steak. The portions were a nice size and plenty of food to fill you up. Pear salad was delicious as was coffee & chili rubbed steak and the salmon with red rice. We will definitely be returning to Pierponts!"

"This restaturant owned by the Herford House people keeps their standards. I have never found their food to be overwhelming, but it good, and priced at the right level. Their steaks won't compare with a Ruth's Chris or Mortons but they are OK. Sides are excellent and a decent portion size. Nice selection of desserts and more than adaquate wine list. I expecially appreciate the fact there are several half-bottles available which are just right for me. Best part the evening I was there was I didn't have to get out in the crummy weather, ( It is connected by skywalks to the Westin as well as the Sheraton). Always interesting setting in old Union Station."

"Pierpont's at Union Station has always been a favorite dining spot of ours for many years. Last Saturday evening though, our experience was less than acceptable. We ordered from the Small Plates Tasting Menu as we have many times. While my order of the Coffee and Ancho Chili Rubbed KC Strip was as described, my wife's order of the Grilled Wild Salmon really should have been listed as a "sampling". I'm not exaggerating, the size of her salmon was less than 3 inches square, a much smaller portion (about half) than we have ever seen before. When we questioned the portion, we were told it was prepared correctly. Considering the price point for this item, I doubt if we continue coming to Pierpont's."

"The food and service was outstanding. I was hoping to be seated at 4:00 for early dinner, but they do not start seating for dinner till 5:00 so a trip to the bar was in order and the house Merlot and very reasonably priced appetizer started my evening perfectly. This place will not disappoint."

"Was seated in a back room, and though I always request the front room, it was satisfactory, because there was a light over the table, and we were removed from the bar scene (wow! so much noise....on a Monday night!). We were the only ones in the room, but it soon filled up.....and it became noisy. No empanadas....:( but the rack of lamb was delicious (well...not TRULY a rack....4 ribs). My friend had only an appetizer crab cake, but enjoyed it."

"I told the server that I was on a dairy free diet, I asked about a dish and she said it was dairy free. I do not think she relayed the message to the cook, I assumed the bread served with the mussels had olive oil instead of butter which most restaurants provide when I say I am dairy free, but after being up all night and having the same reaction I do when I ingest dairy products, I don't think the dairy free message was conveyed."

"Incredible location. The bar area is very nice with a large variety of different liquors. The "basement" rooms are perfect for dinner meetings and offer a secluded venue for private functions. The food was moderately good but nothing outstanding. Much better than Outback but not quite to Sullivans or Ruths Chris. Still worthwhile going and I will be back."

"We did the special pre-fixe Easter Brunch and once again, Pierpont's met and exceeded our expectations. Started with a cup of their wonderful Blue Crab & Corn Bisque, which is my favorite soup on their menu, followed by Filet Mignon Lili (Seared beef medallions, roasted garlic whipped potatoes, asparagus, artichoke hearts, Cognac demi glace), and finished with a mouth-watering slice of Vanilla Bean Cheesecake topped with orange-vanilla marmalade. Everything was presented beautifully and was done to a turn. If this combination of food was listed on their regular small-plate menu, I'd probably eat it every time I visit Pierpont's! :-) Great way to start Spring!"
