"I try to dine at The Brooklyn every time I'm in Seattle. The area facing the chefs has comfy chairs and an up front view of your meal being prepared. Menu offers many great options, in addition to seafood. Service is always spot on. A trip to Seattle just isn't right without a trip to The Brooklyn."

"Despite our initial difficulty in finding parking near the Brooklyn, due to nearby concerts, etc, we finally arrived at the restaurant somewhat later than our reserved time. We appreciated the restaurant's understanding and holding our reserved table. The service, food, wine and ambiance were all to our liking, and worth the effort in getting there on a rainy night. Being from Atlanta, we have always enjoyed spending an evening at the Brooklyn Steak and Seafood when in Seattle. Thanks for helping make it a successful dining experience."

"My wife and I went to the Brooklyn to escape from the kids and work. We loved the quiet but vibrant atmosphere and the options at the bar. I ordered the bouillabaisse, and it was probably the best stew I have had in my life, certainly the best bouillabaisse. It's not easy to cook that many types of seafood (especially octopus) without over- or under-cooking at least one thing, so I was equally impressed by the food and the skill shown in its preparation. My wife ordered the day boat scallops and loved them as well, although I think she would have appreciated more than just the three (albeit sizable) mollusks that arrived. For dessert, we split a deconstructed s'more of sorts: chocolate mousse, marshmallow creme, and graham cracker crumbles."

"We made a reservation for 8:30 on a Friday night. We arrived a few minutes late but were seated right away. The restaurant was not busy at all. Our server expained the menu in detail and was very easy going and hospitable. They have a very good wine and liqour selection. I was pleasantly surprised that they have single malt scotch. I ordered New York strip steak and my friend ordered the salmon. Both were cooked to perfection.Our server came by a few times to check on us. The steak came with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The steak was seasoned just right. We just had dinner and drinks. We took our time but we left before ten o'clock. The atmosphere was classy and reminded me of a saloon. I would definitely go again."

"Nice booths, also high back swivel chairs at counter in front of open kitchen. Service was very good, waiter was knowledgable about food and menu. Extensive wine list. Warm bread served with butter and olive oil. Menu has small plates, starters, soups (including a rich thick clam chowder) and salads, steaks, oysters, seafood and a farms section that has local meats and poultries. We came for seafood and I was disappointed in the choices; there weren't many entrees to choose from. That said, the dish I chose- Scallops with shortrib meat and scalloped potatoes- was quite delicious. My husband's sablefish was delicious as well. We skipped dessert- we were too full. Overall a nice experience."

"We had previously eaten here and were pleased, but this time not so much. The young waiter was of little help with the menu and less with the wine list, and the onion soup was a poor excuse for the real thing, which we'd recently enjoyed elsewhere.. The salad was just OK."

"I've eaten dinner at the Brooklyn several times over the past six years and it has always been great. I have to say though that this past weekend's dining experience was a whole new level of excellence. I had the scallops and my date had the salmon. We both agreed that these were the two finest preparations of each that we have ever had!"

"I had cilents in from Hawaii and I am from Kansas City. So I had to rely on open table for information.
The food was outstanding and the service even better. I brought two bottles of wine with me because my cilent really loves wine and to have somethign as nice as I brought would have been a budget buster. Even though they have a corkage fee they waived the charge for us.

"One of the most delicious meals our family has enjoyed. Sevice was exceptionally friendly, attentive and professional. Cocktails were unique and delicious. Scallops, the best; New York steak, scrumptious and perfectly prepared; vanilla gelato was an experience, as was the Key Lime Pie. And our waiter even hailed us a cab personally, no small feat in downtown Seattle on a Friday night."

"Meal was just ho hum, not a good value for the money spent. Of the four of us none had a memorable main dish. Steak au Poivre was so overly seasoned and peppered that it was inedible. Additionally it was grilled poorly. The lone standout was the exceptional service and gracious nature of our waiter. I travel and eat out extensively and I would rate his effort in the top category of anywhere I have been. Read the table well checked in with perfect timing."

"Food was extremely salty. Steak was well-undercooked, yet burned on the outside. Quality of the New York steak was worse than what you'd get in a supermarket, most likely not even Choice grade. Fish was overcooked and dry. Side dishes were too buttery and salty. Service and overall ambiance was very good, but food is nothing better than a 2-star restaurant."

"This is one of my favorite haunts and I have been coming here on and off since 2001. The restaurant has a nice traditional high end vibe, balanced with a combination of venues. There is the classic oyster bar, private booths, tables and my favorite, the Chef's counter. The counter is a nice venue for a single person or a couple's dining experience. The high back chairs make it difficult for more than two people to hold conversation. It's vibrant with activity as if you are in the kitchen, which basically you are except for the counter in between. You can watch the food be prepared, plated and picked up for the entire restaurant. As far as the food goes, I've never had a bad or marginal meal here. Bravo!"
