Meddlesome Moth
The Meddlesome Moth is Dallas’ most interesting full service restaurant, featuring an honest and flavorful chef driven menu, full service bar, and one of the finest selections of hand-crafted beers in the US. In addition to a changing selection of entrees, our small plates are robustly promoted to encourage sharing. We feature local seasonal menu items and offer fresh blackboard specials daily. Our patio area is spacious for dining al fresco, and reservations are encouraged. At 11pm The Moth transforms into one of Dallas' most comfortable bars and remains so until 2am, Thursday thru Saturday. Closing time is midnight otherwise.

"Went early on a Saturday with my son. We both had one of the daily specials. My son's (pan seared opah over spicy udon noodles) was absolutely incredible and mine (risotto with house ground lamb and goat cheese) was merely awesome. I live 300 miles away, but I already know I'll be back the next time I'm anywhere near Dallas."

"A wide variety of beers both on tap and in bottles make this place really special. We were there on a Saturday night and the restaurant was very busy and loud. You can order an entree or there are small plates of different foods to try and share. We had mussels prepared two ways, fish and chips, and a fish special that was prepared oriental style. Everything was good and well prepared. Service was just ok."

"Well, we enjoyed our time at the bar, and the bar staff was excellent. However, once seated, we saw our waiter twice...once to take our order (after waiting 25-30 minutes) and once to get our bill (after being finished with our dessert for 20+ minutes). We had to order our drinks and desserts from the poor waiter whose section bordered ours...something he was graciously doing for other tables in our waiter's area.
So to sum up, if you want to spend an extra hour of your evening looking hopelessly for your waiter, then this is the place to eat. If not, just drink & eat at the bar or save some aggravation and try one of Dallas' other dining options."

"I loved the food, loved the wine and so did my hubby. My ONLY complaint was that we were seated directly in front of the patio door. It was a chilly night so the air kept rushing in every time staff came to and from the patio. Then finally the door was propped open for a constant cold flow of air on me the whole time. But I'd rather be cold than hot..."

"We love this place for the food and the beer! Go early if you have the kids b/c later can be loud and very busy. This time we went later on a weekend with another couple and the setting was perfect for a no-kid experience! This was the first time we've had any issues with the service being slow and on the poor side with infrequent drink refills and poor knowledge of the food menu. Otherwise it was excellent as always!"

"I really like the menu here -- everything is so interesting and excellent, and I love that the menu is designed for sharing. The portions can be small, though, so if you have a healthy appetite, you might end up spending a little more money than you planned. But the food is very good and the beer pairings are great; you will not be disappointed!"

"We went with som foodie friends and loved, LOVED nearly every bite. Our waiter patrick was super knowledgeable. Also someone we were with relayed our opinions on the food to Patrick, and he took care of the two dishes we felt were not on par with everything else we ate. That was really surprising and such a great example of customer service...especially since the Mac n cheese (a special) and berry shortcake weren't BAD they just weren't the amazing mouth sensations like everything else we ate. We tried every "shared plate" and were blown away."

"Very pleased with the service and food. Will definitely be coming back again. The zuchinni chips were INCREDIBLE and we had the beets salad with walnuts and honey (amazing, and we've even recreated the recipe at home!), the seared ahi tuna sticks were incredible. The biggest let down of the night was the pork belly. It may have been that everything else was just so delicious that we weren't really hungry by the time the pork belly came up... but we felt we had to eat it because we ordered it... One should never begrudgingly eat pork belly. But other than that it was a terrific experience!"

"We eat here because it's conveniently close to our work. everything about the restaurant is OK in our opinion with the exception of the noise level. I know that it S.O.P. for restaurants to project a "lively" image through busy background noise, but we occasionally attempt working business luncheons here and it's like trying to talk in a bowling alley. Put in some anechoic panels and tone it down a little. The reason we think it's "kid friendly" is that you won't be able to hear them screaming over the background roar."

"I can't say enough positive things about The Moth. I have never had a bad meal and this one did not disappoint. The hummus is by far the best I've ever had, hands down. The deviled eggs were delicious. The flavor was so unique and I couldn't help wanting more. The pork belly with blue cheese grits was amazing. The pork belly was perfectly cooked, crispy outside and melt in your mouth inside. Last, but certainly not least the pecan pie was to die for. I would also recommend the bacon lollipops, which are my husband's favorite. The wide selection of beers is always an adventure even though I tend to lean towards the pear and elderberry martini. YUM! I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to Dan, best waiter EVER!"

"Definitely not kids friendly, no kids menu. Asked for a chair booster and after 15 minutes I had to literally grab it myself. Asked for whole egg omelet instead of an egg whites omelet and they couldn't do it. Drinks took forever. Food was good but limited menu."

"Such a cool atmosphere. The online reviews got us in and past the ecclectic name. The moth balls are the best. The waiters knowledge(Patrick)of the dishes and beers available was outstanding. The chicken chips, hummus and pig and fig were awesome. The tenderloins not so much. A great place to spend with friends. Will definitely be back."

"Our experience was quite good. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. Excellent and large choice for beer on tap. Interesting menu. The beef pot pie was very good, as was the zucchini appetizer. Unique artwork and stained glass. Walking distance to the American Airlines Center in Dallas. We would go back if in the area again."
