"We reserved a table for Mothers Day lunch - after perusing the regular dinner menu, some of us decided to order one of the "specials" mentioned by the waiter. The average entree price on the menu was in the twenty dollar range. After receiving the bill, we were billed $35 each for the special entrees - and they weren't that special. The halibut was soggy and the ahi was overcooked. Won't be back."

"Had to send a couple of dishes back shrimp bisque was watery, and risotto was under cooked. A couple of the other dishes were too salty. My stuffed salmon had good flavor but was very dry. The vegtables and mashed potatoes servered with my dish were very good. The waitress was very attentive, and the service was excellent"

"My wife and I had dinner with another couple, we had a blast. The waitress got slammed at one point so the service was a bit disjoined. Nonetheless, food was great and ambiance was quaint italian. We'll be going back."

"THis was my first time at this restaurant, as a friend suggested it. The food was amazing. The eggplant appetizer was so yummy and it reminded me of growing up and our big Italian dinners. The pasta dishes were definitely homemade and they literally melted in your mouth. Definitely will return !"

"Great location and nice decor.
Food has always been excellent whenever we have eaten at Fresco.
Waiter was very brusque and service was only so-so.
It was a group of 7 so gratuity was included in the bill, but can't say whether that influenced the service."

"We enjoyed a tasty hearts of artichoke appetizer with entres of Linguini and Clams and Veal Riviera. Our server Robert Paris was very helpful and attentive, helping us with the wine selection of a nice Italian Chardonnay and a classic Chianti. Nice setting in Carlsbad with good food, service and ambiance."

"We went there Sunday night and sat outdoor patio was pretty charming, very nice atmosphere, I surprised. The food which I orderd pasta was not aldente, unfortunatery, but taste was good. I think it's a nice restaurant."

"Although we were there for lunch with very few other diners, our service was slow and inadequate. The food was good, not great. I thought it would be a good opportunity for them to blow us away as it was a slow day. They didn't. Our server was not familiar with Burrata Mozzarela (a fresh Italian cheese, made from mozzarella and cream) as we attempted to order that in a true Italian restaurant and we were told he was not familiar with that type of cheese:). Not sure I would recommend this venue for a special engagement."

"My wife and I ate here on Valentine's day, which is a challenging evening for restaurants. They were packed but honored our reservation right on time. I didn't care for the table first offered but was given a second choice without complaint or comment, which we enjoyed. Our service was prompt and the food was great. They used their usual menu, not a special Valentine's day special, and it is a menu with choices for everyone. I ordered the Butternut squash ravioli. The cost is around $19, for 5 raviolis. I saw this as very pricey. The flavor of the food was fabulous, but in light of the serving size I see this as overpriced. My wife ordered Pollo Portofino: chicken with artichoke hearts, white wine sauce, vergetables, etc. We'll visit again."

"We had reservations. I called to tell the restaurant that we were running late. When we arrived, it was awkward because the hostess couldn't find our reservation and kept us waiting. There were a lot of open tables so it seemed unnecessary. Finally, a man made an executive decision and took us to a table without her finding our reservation. The hostess was not friendly as one would expect and treated us like we "weren't on the guest list." Our food server was very friendly and made up for the poor first impression."
