Chef Lauren Hirschberg prepares seasonal inspired dishes at Tom Colicchio’s casual Flatiron restaurant. The menu features a wide variety of small & large plates from Snacks, House-Made Charcuterie, Salumi, Artisanal Cheeses, Salads as well as Handmade Pastas, all expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The rustic and comfortable dining room lends itself to a quick lunch where guests can try our Croque Monsieur, a full dinner of Choucroute Garnie and Ricotta Ravioli, or a snack of Pecorino Arancini and East Coast Oysters. We are also serving a soul-satisfying brunch with dishes like Pork Scrapple & Eggs and our Applewood Smoked Salmon prepared in-house. Be sure to save room for Pastry Chef, Abby Swain’s creations including her take on the S’mores Tart.
"Food options and attention to detail with plating is great here. The tastes are distinct and I was really pleased with all facets of the meal. The arancini was absolutely fantastic and my salmon was cooked perfectly and had a delectable taste with the squid ink plating. The service, however, was slow and both our table and the table next to us had to continuously seek out waiters to place orders, refill water and ask for another drink. For how much we spent here, I really expected the service to be more up to par and attentive."

"aside from dark & noisy, was a pleasant experience. small appetizer dishes were delicious. for main - we ordered the pork platter which was not worth it at $76. the pork was tough, dry and bland. best to order the non-specials as the main course (which could have been shared by 3 people) was a disappointment."

"The meal was excellent. Craftbar has by far the best beet salad I've ever had. My friend had the meatball sandwich and the meatballs are outstanding at Craftbar. For appetizers, we had rice balls which were airy and light and fried artichokes which had a surprisingly complex mix of flavors. All in all, an excellent meal."

"One of the best dinners I have had in some time. Every dish was delish. Service was prompt and friendly. Only problem- too noisy. Carrying on a conversation over dinner was a struggle."

"Sure it's nothing new to say good things about Craftbar in Manhattan. Ate here on on last night in NYC, and really enjoyed it. Not cheap, but on par price-wise w/ commensurate restaurants in the area."

"Everyone there was very professional but also very relaxed and friendly, and seem to really care about what they were doing. Fun conversation with the sommerlier, good recommendations from our server. Pork plate for two was terrific."

"I like the Bar as much as the Restaurant, so always visit when in NY, reason is the good food combined with a good wine and with service always on top :D see you next year! If you travel to Stockholm you may enjoy Urban Deli at Nytorget different but really worth visiting :) kind regards, Anna, Stockholm"

"I sadly was disappointed with Craft Bar.. I probably had stupidly high expectations since I'm such a fan of Tom Colicchio's, but still.. The fried chicken was recommended by our waitress, as a "popular tourist dish", which we werent tourists snd i found somewhat rude and presumptuous, but fine.. Whatever.. but my friend ordered the chicken and it wasn't even seasoned.. I will say, the braised veal was super tasty and they have a great wine selection... Overall, I was just underwhelmed.."

"My husband and I decide to go here for our anniversary. When I made the reservation, I put that in the comment box. Wow, we were treated like royalty. The service was impeccable. We were greeted with a "Happy Anniversary" and sat in a cozy romantic corner. We received a personalized menu with "Happy Anniversary A.. + B.." at the top and 2 flutes of champagne on the house. The food was really good (as expected) but it really was the extra attention that made us feel extra special. A wonderful place to eat great food and celebrate a special moment!"

"Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. They did a great job of making her feel special (e.g. gave her a personalized menu with her name on it)! Overall I felt the service, ambiance and food was good. They have a pretty extensive wine list and a number of unique cocktails as well. It's a bit on the expensive side (like much of NYC :)) so be prepared to pay at least $40/person, but likely more. I'd definitely recommend CraftBar to friends looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or spend a romantic evening, but would likely not recommend it as a regular dinner spot."

"Craftbar remains one of our neighborhood go-to restaurants. The staff is a such friendly bunch of food lovers, they're knowledge and service is infectious. And the food is always spot on. Even the kale salad I had was delicious (which is not always easy to do with kale). Appetizers, meat and fish entres were all excellent. And the wines by the glass are almost as extensive as by the bottle and always first rate."

"had 7 friends gather for a wonderful meal. we do this several times a year and everyone remarked upon how good the food was. Both our servers were wonderful- helped us order wine for the table as well as appetizers. Craftbar happily tweaked menu items for dietary restrictions. Definitely a return trip."

"Good food but service was so so. Staff seemed uncomfortable and interested in taking orders and leaving ASAP...which made it uncomfortable at times. Food was unique and very very good. Just would expect better service for the price."

"Visiting NYC and selected this restaurant based on reviews from the web and we are so glad that it ended up being a great choice. The decor is very simple, modern & attractive and I liked the bustling atmosphere. Service was very pleasant, we were seated right on time and the waitress was attentive throughout the meal. I had the roasted and braised Colorado lamb as the entree and it was cooked perfectly and just absolutely delicious. We would definitely eat here again!"

"Not a huge fan. Menu is just loaded with rich foods I don't care for like pate, lamb hearts, pork, lamb and cheese. One fish item besides the salmon was wrapped in pancetta. Wasn't great. I had the past, it was good but very rich and I didn't consider this to be an "Italian Restaurant" ...wasn't feeling like Italian but it was really the only thing on the menu I could eat.
Chocolate and Peanut Butter cookies are great though."

"What a great surprise - everything was delicious! Service was perfect. A little noisy when dining with parents, but aside from that, we had a great time. Loved the seasonal notes with the fiddlehead ferns."

"Spent one day in NYC and wanted to make sure we ate at CraftBar so we made reservations for 1:30PM. We didn't know the subway train we were going to take originally was going to be down for the weekend, so we were not going to make our reservation time. I called to let them know we would be late, and the staff member I spoke to was completely understanding and said not to worry if we came late-we would still be able to get a table. The service was excellent and the waiter we had never let my glass of water get empty! (Which is good after all that walking!) I ordered the salmon with squid ink and my friend ordered a bucket of mussels. The food was amazing. My friend got so many mussels for her meal that I had to help her finish!"

"I went a few years ago when it first opened, it was great. This time, it was one of the worst meals we've ever had. The octopus was literally one tentacle, fried almost beyond recognition. Arugula salad had absolutely no flavor, it was like eating dry lettuce. My lamb was oversalted, the monkfish was too salty with the pancetta, overcooked the fish and the lentils had no flavor. The cavatelli was also overcooked. All in all, one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while."

"My wife and I have been to Craftbar half a dozen times, always happily. But recently, we were shown to a table for two. We asked for an adjacent corner table of comparable size and were told that it was a table for three. Five minutes after we sat down, it was given to another couple, not a threesome. If it had been reserved for them, we would have understood. But we can't understand why we were lied to. Then the food we were served seemed mediocre, not as interesting and toothsome as in the past. When a server asked if the food was okay, I said no. My entree was taken off the bill, even though I had eaten it all (I was hungry), which was a generous apology from the restaurant, a gesture I never requested. Still, I'm in no hurry to return."
