"We arrived to celebrate our 13th anniversary. We were the first guests to arrive, so the dining room was very quiet. We wondered if it would be a boring evening. within an hour the room was full. Everyone was dressed very nicely and the servers were exceptionally friendly and professional. We ordered the Scallops with a Thai Chili sauce for appetizer. They were incredible and cooked perfectly! Then we ordered the Pepper Steak and Steak Diane for our main entrees. Little did we know the steaks would be cooked table-side. We loved watching the chef's magic with each ingredient and fire show :) We were served the most tasty, tender center-cut steaks we've ever had by far! It was fun and simply outstanding service and food! Thank you!"

"The front
hostess was not that friendly and all of the staff kept pushing the wine. Now I know why; we each ordered one glass
of red wine and got about 1/4 of a glass for the price of a whole bottle. They are making a killing off of the wine.
It took a while for our server to give us the menu and they seated us in the middle of the dining room when there
were tables open near the window. They make the steaks at your table and did not notice we ordered two steaks
not one so it took longer for our second steak to cook. In the end they undercharged us for the bill by a large amnt
and although we were honest and patient while they corrected the total; they could have offered us a discount
accordingly."

"If you want the best tasting steak in the city, go to the Pepper Tree! The Famous (downtown) is awesome, but the flavor and tenderness of the signature pepper steak is out of this world. EVERY time we eat here, it is consistently fantastic! It is not cheap, but for a special occasion, worth every penny."

"We found the Peppertree through Open Table, since we were unfamiliar with Colorado Springs fine dining. The ambiance was delightful with a great view of the city. Dinner was prepared tableside and was delicious. My first martini was not the best but the second made up for the deficiency. We would recommend Peppertree to other diners."

"We have been eating at the PepperTree for 20 years. It has been about a year since we last ate there. They have switched from a pepper kernel to a coarse pepper paste that was too much. Not the same as before Neil Levy.

"Thought the food and atmosphere was very dated. Food overly rich with too large of portions, even the salad was over-dressed with a sticky-sweet dressing. The table side prep was cool several decades ago but I'd rather have a chef prepare my food than a waiter. My husband and I both got their pepper steaks and mine was blue in the middle (very rare)although my husband's was cooked as ordered. If a retro 1970's dining experience is what you want, then this is the place but be willing to pay high dollar for staff in tuxedos and food that is prepared with a heavy-hand."

"5 Star Service and Food! I hosted a dinner that included a party of 10 from various parts of the U.S. This was my first experience at the Pepper Tree as I live in Denver. A drive-by of the restaurant earlier in the day left me feeling a little skeptical - the 'curb appeal' could use some help. I trusted the reveiws on here and on Trip Advisor - a very good decision! The service was simply outstanding!!! Everyone in my party really enjoyed the food with three choosing the pepper steak with a mango chutney - delicious!!! We ordered 5 deserts to share - each was fantasitic. It's worth the 1+ drive from Denver to dine - will do so again in the near future."

"My meal was over cooked. We had to ask several times for parts of our meal. The wait staff was rude in that the broke into our table conversation at any point they felt they needed or wanted something. It got to be very tiresome. I had no idea who our server really was. It was a very definite disappointment. We drove from Denver for the expereince but won't do it again. They tried too hard to be special rather than do their job unobtrusively."

"Waiter was arrogant and it was difficult to understand his accent. One steak was overcooked. The knives provided did not readily cut the steaks. Rice and asparagus were lacking in flavor. Baked potato had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. We were there for our first anniversary and were both very disappointed in the entire dining experience."

"The only issue I had with this restaurant is the menu. I ordered the Angus Ribeye which was $44.95. The description said that it came with blue cheese chips and bacon bits. Nothing in the menu suggested that the latter would be extra. I was charged an extra $.50 for each topping. I do not like hidden charges. I did not mention it because it was only $1 more, but it's not like I paid for a $15 meal. You would think that the toppings would be included for the price I paid. I knew the restaurant was a bit pricey, but I didn't expect hidden charges. They also did the same for my wife's order, she was charged $1 for the topping on her dinner."

"We had not been to the Pepper Tree in a long time. We took friends who had never been before. Two of us had the lobster bisque and were disappointed. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as tasty as expected. However, dinner was absolutely wonderful. Salads were crisp and flavorful. The bread was warm, crusty outside and soft and delicious inside. The entrees were perfect; two of us had pepper steaks and two shared the Chateaubriand . Desserts (shared chocolate cake and apple pie with cinnamon ice cream) were delicious but much bigger than expected.
All of the waitstaff were prompt, friendly, and we never had to ask for anything. It was a wonderful dining experience for our special occasion celebration."

"I am a long time Colorado springs resident and your restaurant is my favorite not only here but anywhere. This last dinning experience was the least impressive from the extraordinary experiences of all that I have had in the past however I will still keep coming. Thanks Frank D'Amico"

"I have been dining at the Peppertree for over 25 years and still find it to be one of the best fine-dining restaurants in Colorado Springs. The menu has changed very little over the years, except for the prices. My wife is not a meat eater, but always finds a an excellent fish or vegetarian dish. My favorite is the steak Diane, although the house specialty is, of course, the pepper steak. The Diane sauce could be a little creamier, but when I asked about it during this dine I was told I could request it as creamy as I wanted. Overall, I hope to keep going back for another 25 years."
