"First timer at Ruth's Chris and it more than lived up to the reputation I had heard about. My wife and I celebrated a promotion from work and the staff and general manager were all very friendly and attentive to our celebration. The food was absolutely fantastic. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet dinner out for a special time."

"My wife and I, along with our two children, were warmly greated upon our arrival and quickly shown to our table. We had a pleasant gentlemen named Wyatt, who was a master at his position and good with the little ones. Our appetizer came in the form of spicy-glazed calamari. Although I like my calamari a little more crisp, the dish was delightful with a gentle hint of spice. Following closely, came our entrees of 12 oz. prime rib accompanied by a crabcake and the house filet with a uniquely presented lobster tail. My wife thoroughly enjoyed both the crabcake and prime rib. The filet was cooked a perfect medium-rare and seasoned just how I like it. We didn't get dessert here only because we had anniversary cake waiting at home."

"We have been to Ruth's Chris and have always been pleased. We have also taken a small group there on occasion and everyone loved it. One comment, regarding the side dishes, they are huge, and sometimes not on par with the rest of the meal. The service is outstanding .The steaks are so tender. what more could you want? Oh yes, wine - an extensive list from which to choose. When planning a special dinner, Ruth's Chris is at the top of my list."

"Went there for my girlfriends birthday. The staff went above and beyond. They prepared the table and gave us complimentary desert. What ruined the night was the unprofessional server and the very loud table next to us. They cursed and used faul language more fit for a bar and not a fine dining restaurant."

"Great service, Daniel is a rock star! Wine list is top notch, even the 'by the glass' options. Dinner (ahi and steaks) all excellent ( my tuna was a bit more cooked than I ordered and I typically prefer but still very good - don't think the sizzling plate helped). All of the staff were incredibly friendly, gracious and helpful."

"As usual Ruth Chris does it again. Walk through the door we where immediately greeted and welcomed to the restaurant. Gave my name, and immediately seated on a very steady night. Was waited on by Daniel who was outstanding as well as another young man who was great as well. Our food was prepared quicker than usual tonight and it was all great. Toward the end of the meal we where asked by the Manager Peter how everything was and agin nothing but positive things as well as a nice touch for him to stop by. Overall it was a great night with great Food and service by Daniel and Everybody at the Virginia Beach Ruth Chris. I definitely recommend you dine here, it is definitely a great establishment."

"Was at the Midlothian location within the last month and was disappointed. My biggest disappointment had been the German Chocolate Martini that I ordered. But I was disappointed with the food not being above and beyond as I had gotten use to. But it had been several years since my previous visit to that. Then I went to Virginia Beach location, and expected everything to be righted. I have to say, the German Chocolate Martini was just exactly as I remembered .....for the first one. But the second one was like I got in Richmond and the replacement they brought was again like the one in Richmond. I wasn't happy, but just accepted it and went on. I won't be anxious to go back."

"I really enjoyed Ruth Chris overall. I know having the lights dim is for a romantic setting but not to the point where you can barely read the menu and i don't where glasses. The only problem i had was the light in the restaurant was too dim. They really need to improve on the lighting."

"I went to Ruth Chris for Valentines Day. It was my first visit and I was NOT disappointed. I ordered the Filet...it was by far, the best steak I have ever had. My wife ordered the Lobster. She said it was seasoned awesome! We shared the sweet potato. It is to die for...I will be visiting again, soon."

"We choose Ruth Chris for our anniversary dinner - a special night to us. What I thought would be an intimate romantic restaurant has become primarily a place where business people have dinner in large groups. Right from the start, was were given a waitress with an attitude. When I sit down and order a glass of wine, her first response should not be "Oh, do you really want THAT wine? If it is not up to their standards, then why offer it on the list, it was not an inexpensive wine. From there it went downward to extremely inattentive service and fair food. If you are going to spend a great deal of money on dinner, there are so many other places to choose from in Virginia Beach. I will not be going back."

"This is the third time Ive been there. The last two times they brought out our dinner before we were even finished with appetizers. When my husband took a bite of his tuna it was stone cold. The plate underneath was hot, but the food cold. My food was lukewarm at best. The waiter & manager was at first very unkind about us mentioning this. I think once they took it back and realized were were right they came out all apologetic with glasses of wine and new dinners.
With the prices they charge please dont rush your patrons. We used to go to the ruth chris in boston and I can tell you this NEVER happened. The boston one is exceptional. We wont be back to this one."
