The Lifesaving Station - Sanderling Resort
Located in the original—and splendidly restored—Caffey’s Inlet Life Saving Station No. 5, the Lifesaving Station is a casual, three-meal-a-day restaurant celebrating southern coastal cuisine and regional, organic products. New with the renovations is a spacious outside seating deck and large fireplace.
Known for its “best breakfast on the Outer Banks” and a-la-carte Sunday brunch, the Lifesaving Station is a favorite Duck, N.C. restaurant choice for both locals and vacationers. And be sure the try the Lifesaving Station’s famous Carolina BBQ Sampler and Spring Mountain Farms Buttermilk Fried Chicken, always on the menu.
The Lifesaving Station maintains an impressive wine list. Local breweries are featured while specialty cocktails feature coastal “house cocktails” and bourbons. Upstairs, the renovated No. 5 offers sweeping views of the Currituck Sound. The relaxed atmosphere is conducive to catching the game and enjoying quality cuisine.
"Despite the changes to the décor, I was happy to see that the delicious and bountiful breakfast menu hadn't changed. Servicers wonderful as always. Other meals also excellent here."

Review 2 for The Lifesaving Station - Sanderling Resort
"We live in Corolla and have been going to the Lifesaving Station for years. We had high hopes for dinner on 5/11. Sadly,it was a major disappointment, due to misses on the food, but more importantly because the front of house was a disaster. Out waiter, who has worked at the restaurant for years, was incredibly rude the entire evening, didn't seem to care about some of the food misses -burnt cannelloni being the most glaring example. The kitchen was clearly in the weeds, even though only about 40% of the tables were occupied. It took 1.5 hours from the time we sat down, and at least 30 minutes after we finished our apps, to receive entrees. A manager, nor our cheeky waiter, never addressed the long waits. We won't be back,"
