"We eat at the French Room on special occasions, just my wife and I. Other than the obligatory check on my MC balance prior to setting off, nothing can detract from the exquisite service, setting and, of course, cuisine of this Dallas gem. This past evening was no exception, except is was the most exceptional experience because of all the things that make the French Room what it is. My rack of lamb was as tender to barely require a knife, and left a fresh delightful aftertaste lingering on my palate. Every aspect of our 2 hour dinner felt orchestrated for our benefits; the service tended to every request, but never appeared intrusive. We have dined at wonderful venues in NYC, San Francisco and Chicago; the French Room is as good as it gets."

"Everything I hoped it would be. My wife has been thanking me for a wonderful anniversay from the minute we sat down and still mentioned how wondwerful it was now 2 days later. The decor is from another era, with soft romantic lighting. The service was impeccable,alert yet not intrusive.The sommelier took into account our tastes and we actually ended up with a Malbec that was not on the wine list, it had been given to him by a wholsaler to taste...it was a scrumptous wine. The food was well presented and delicious. I can't say enough..well worth it"

"Five star silver service in downtown Dallas, The French Room takes the very best of European and American cuisine and presents it in the finest setting.
This is the place to take someone special for a very special occasion.
The food is excellent, the staff are discreet yet anticipate your every need, and despite the silver service they do not make the mistake of making you feel uncomfortable.
Be prepared to invest in the meal - it is fine dining after all - but worth it for a memorable occasion.
Oh guys - do wear a sports jacket, you will be expected to wear it while you eat."

"Absolutely the best -- as always. Everything about the French Room is first rate. The food is luscious and the quiet service is above reproach. Every detail has been considered in advance and every detail of food, service, ambience and menu is perfect. We have been to all the top ten or twenty restaurants in Dallas and many of the top restaurants around the US but The French Room is absolutely our favorite when we want a perfect evening. It is quiet and romantic (a man proposed and she accepted while we were there!) and allows for conversation without shouting about the noise of other diners or the kitchen. Every dish we have ever had was top knotch. The French Room is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by this diner."

"Our standard for very special occasions, the French Room has never disappointed us. Classic French cuisine done so well that it never tastes outdated. My only problem was with the party at the next table - ladies, I know a splash of expensive perfume is keeping with the whole French thing but please don't drown yourselves in it."

"The single most enjoyable dining experience I've ever had. Complimentary parking (In downtown that's a big plus), waitstaff in tuxedos, very elegant atmosphere. The food was well proportioned and top-class. All in all a very elegant experience. Dress code is jacket and tie for men elegant dress for women. Perfect for after a night of theatre or as a mini-vacation. Loved it."

"We had a party of five, including our teenage daughter, her boyfriend, and our 18-month-old son. The restaurant was able to accommodate all of our needs for this mixed group quite nicely. The dining room was appropriately decorated and the ambiance was what I expected for a French-inspired restaurant. Our serving staff was attentive without being intrusive. I had requested a vegetarian menu (I previewed the menu before arriving and didn't find any of the choices to my liking) and was very pleased with what I ordered. I also got the wine pairings for my meal. I am not a wine connoisseur, but the sommelier was extremely helpful and all of his suggestions were wonderful. Everyone, including the baby, was very happy with our experience."

"The sommelier was excellent and Francisco, our waiter, superb! We enjoyed the grand tasting menu and the chef's tasting menu respectively and the quality, taste, and presentation of the menu was uniformly spectacular. In fact, we plan to contact the maître 'd to request a copy of the amazing food and wine pairings that we were privileged to experience. We were guest of the hotel visiting from North Carolina and have committed to making it back to Dallas at least once a year - even if only to return to The French Room. Kudos! Thank you for an amazing dining experience!"

"Amazing experience, enjoyed every minute of it. Dining room is beautiful as is the bar that we had pre-diner drinks. Connie F was our server and she was so lovely and attentive. We were even given breakfast bread to take home. I had the duck which was my favourite main course I have ever had, and I have been fortunate enought to visit lots of fine dining restaurants. "The food and service was incredible! Its solid reputation holds true. I had high expectations coming here and it did not disappoint!!! Perfect restaurant for celebrating a special occasion or just simply, celebrating life! Ambiance was perfect as I felt the restaurant transported me to Paris (and I've been to Paris)! The food was delicately prepared, beautifully presented and every bite was heaven, making me want to savour every bite...I especially loved the potato mousse that was served with the caviar - what a treat that was!!!!! And one of my favorites was the lamb - only one work could describe it - perfection!"

"Francisco, our waiter, took excellent care of us and had a great personality. The artichoke/lobster soup was wonderful, but the crab cakes were a bit 'spongy'. The veal tenderloin was magnificent and perfectly prepared. A perfect trio of creme brule rounded off a delicious meal and beautiful evening. "The French Room provided pristine elegance for the finest of dining. The cuisine was impeccably presented and consisted of a combination of exquisite ingredients and portion sizes which would satisfy any appetite. The service was unquestionably the best we have ever had without the haughtiness we have experienced at other fine restaurants. The architecture and furnishings of the room reminded us of our recent European travels and the frescoes and ornamentation seen in the Palace of Versailles in Paris. Dining at the French Room was most enjoyable and is now at the top of our list of favorites. We plan to return as often as possible."

"This was my first trip to the French Room. I have to say, I absolutely loved it. The food was wonderful (but what do you expect from the Number 1 Hotel Restaurant in the United States). The French Room staffs made my wife feel like the queen she is. The atmosphere was very romantic and set the mood for the events to come in my junior suite. In other words The French Room is a great place to take that special someone to re-kindle your marriage or just for a night away in the romantic suites of the Adolphus Hotel. To summarize, this was the high light of my weekend stay in Dallas. I will no doubt stay in the Adolphus and dine in the French Room again."

"started with having to get out of the car-just off the street (blocking anyone else from entering, as there seemed to be a lack of parking attendants(valet)..gave my key to the doorman to deal with.... Fortunately, my car was right out front when we finished dinner.

Birthday celebration...decorated my plate instead of the of birthday boy's...easy switch one he blew the candle out.

The topper was when the bill came....expecting a $300 tab for the two of us....it read $77 dollars. Had to wait for the waiter to come back-retally- to read the $287 corrected ticket-he thanked me, as he would have been struck with the difference.

Otherwise...after 2.5 hours...it was a pleasent experience."

"A superb dining experience! The service was impeccable,and the wait staff was so friendly. The food was wonderful and just the right portions. I had the three course dinner with the bisque, veal, and souffle. The complimentary ceviche was tasty and a welcomed surprise. Don't miss the dessert souffle--I had lemon--fantastic! The cosmopolitan martinis were perfect (you can always judge the qualifications of the bartender by the color of the cosmopolitan). The gingerbread loaves that we were presented when leaving were delicious and so much appreciated for an early flight the next morning. The roses were a special touch also. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special and memorable dining experience."

"The dining experience was great! It end up that I was taking my boyfriend for dinner instead of the other way around, so it was a little awkward when my date was handed the bill only to have to hand it back to me. "The perfect choice to begin our New Year. Never disappointing, from the outstanding presentation of the dishes to the knowledge, superb service and genteel friendliness of the staff. Food was superb from our choice of appetizers, to the famous French Room souffles. Kudos on the lobster ravioli appetizer and duck entree.

As repeat customers over the years this is one of the best, most enjoyable and romantic experiences in Dallas, yet inviting to us as a family. We have come as a couple and as a family with a small child and always felt welcomed."

"My wife and I recently visited The French Room to celebrate our anniversary. I did find it odd that the reservation asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, but no one made mention of it during our meal. Overall we were extremely satisfied with the cuisine, and the service was outstanding. There were a few minor issues that drew my attention. For instance the Lobster Bisque had only the slightest taste of lobster in the cream sauce, which was poured over a very nicely seared scallop. However, there was really no lobster to speak of. The other item I was disappointed in was the crème brulée Trio. The "traditional" crème brulée was great, but the chocolate had child-like sprinkles on it and the amaretto was far to overpowering"

"I wish to thank you all. This was a "date" with my Grand-daughter, Jackie, on her 16th Birthday. The entire staff and the ambiance made this an event which she "will not forget." Her words. Carlos, our headwaiter went out of his way to greet her with "Happy Birthday" (much to Jackie's amazement and delight) and to insure that we would have a wonderful evening. He did! The food was great and the service was impecable. I wish to especially thank the desert chef who wrote "Happy 16th Birthday" in chocolate syrup on her desert plate. Thank you one and all for making my grand-daughter's birthday memorable. I am looking forward to returning to the French Room."

"The dining experience was a memorable one. It was my Birthday and my Husband made a reservation at the French Room. The ambience was nice and quiet. Perfect setup for a couple to spend some time together. On the menu, there was a vegetarian option as well. All the dishes tasted awesome and conveyed a feeling that they were prepared with a great deal of attention for detail. And, for those who might not be familiar with the French cuisine, they were explained what was being served, how its prepared, etc. And the presentation of dishes made one hungry :) .
