"My party and I had a breakfast seating, and the menu does not disappoint. We ordered a pastry basket for the table to share and a round of the Omelet Monte Cristos. Our orders were promptly delivered to the table, and water, coffee and tea cups stayed full thoughout our dining service. The waiter was attentive and ensured that we had everything that we needed without being overbearing. Bistro Bis never fails to provide superior service - and cuisine - whether you are visiting during Restaurant Week, a power lunch, or a special occassion."

"Decent restaurant near Union Station. "Bistro" in the title is reflected in the menu. The salads and appetizers were the most interesting. The food was well prepared, but the selection was limited. The wine list was adequate, but no bargains. Service was attentive and prompt without feeling rushed. A pleasant but not outstanding evening."

"This was our first time and we will be back. We requested a corner table, as we were celebrating our anniversary and our wish was fullfilled. We also appreciated that when our dessert was served our waiter wished us a happy anniversary and the dessert plate had "happy anniversary" written around the edge in chocolate. This was a very nice touch. The food was top notch. We had the escargot, duck and the game hen special."

"A friend and I had a nice lunch. Service was good, but was the overall experience was underwhelming. The duck confit was on a bed of potatoes that were cooked previously so had that off old potato taste. My friend enjoying the seabass with curry although she commented on the mildness of the spices. The restaurant was still nice looking and well care for, although a bit dated. Not a place I will rush back to though."

I debated whether the food should be a 4 or a 5 and only marked it down a small notch (if there was a 4.7 that would have been my choice, because of just small sauce execution details. The portions, presentation, flavors with the fish dishes we had did not disappoint. Classical French style without gimmicks. The restaurant is well designed for conversation, the service attentive and perfectly timed."

"I always look forward to returning the Bistro Bis and last week I had that opportunity when I invited a group of colleagues for dinner. The restaurant is always lively and this year, we were escorted to an upstairs table that made us feel we were in a private dining room. The food is always remarkable -- there were rave reviews about the steak frites, the beet salad, and the scallops. I found that the seabass curry was not a curry at all but two delicate pieces of sea bass with a drizzle of curry sauce.
The desserts were delicious and memorable. Each had a special presentation and equally delicious."

"I would definitely recommend Bistro Bis. The food is always good with a variety of menu options. The manager provides you with a warm reception and ensures the service is good. The only downside is that it takes a while for the food (usually there for more than an hour at lunch. That does not keep me from going back. The seafood dishes and mussels are always exceptional."

"My girlfriend thought the Lobster Bisque was almost as good as Dominique's used to serve. My cassoulet, selected on the waiter's recommendation, was a tasty and hearty beginning. She got the lamb shank and I the pork chop. Both were delicious. Each of the several glasses of wine we tried were good. We ended with a shared apple tart that almost caused us to duel with our forks.
Service was friendly and attentive with helpful information and suggestions about the menu."

"Stopped in for a random weekday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Service was generally good, but we did have to remind them (more than once) that we needed a spoon for the soup. Burger came out very rare instead of medium, but they took care of that quickly."

Bartender Matt knew exactly what we needed.
Waitstaff was fantastic - kept the glasses full and the food was presented at an appropriate pace. Will definitely return on every visit to DC......"

"I was very disappointed in the brunch at Bistro Bis. I ordered coffee and got the cups, but no coffee until much later. I actually had to waive to the person handling our table to tell him that he forgot the coffee. The omelette was terrible. The people at my table were complaining about their food as well. I would not recommend this restaurant for brunch.. it was better for dinner."

"Was eating alone, which I enjoy. Waiter was great, not stuffy at all, shared personal stories of his own cooking. All the help was great and the GM came out and introduced himself, asking how the food was. Lobster bisque was wonderful. Did not care for the bread or chad that was offered that night. Prices are reasonable for the good quality here and you should try it!"
