Nakato Japanese Restaurant - Traditional Dining and Sushi Bar
Nakato Japanese Restaurant is the oldest Japanese restaurant in Atlanta. Established in 1972, it has been owner operated for over 38 years. Come and enjoy the most traditional and authentic Japanese restaurant that Atlanta has to offer. We have a 25 seater sushi bar along with a traditional tatami rooms serving full course menus, as well as a traditional dining room over looking the Japanese garden.

"Nakato's sushi is so fresh and the wide selection leaves plenty of options for all. Every piece is decadent, flavorful and just plain delicious. Their selection of Sake is also tremendous, and though I'm not usually a huge Sake fan, they have several that are worth trying. The staff is always kind and welcoming They never rush you and it's never too slow, just right. I highly recommend Nakato for some of the best sushi in town!"

"I made a reservation for a private room at Nakatos for Mothers Day at 6:30 pm. We get there and were promptly seated. The chef came to our table and began to cook. He did not really interact with us. Just cooked served us and then another guy came with a hand full of to go boxes. They did not give us time to enjoy our actual meal. The food is delicious and I've been to Nakatos several of times but I will not be returning to spend over $150.00 to get rushed out!!"

"Almost hidden, this little gem is a fantastic way to leave the everyday behind and set into authentic Japanese surroundings. Friendly staff, option of tradition, sushi bar and private tatami mat dining, this restaurant was above what I expected. The grilled salmon was well prepared and the yakitori and shumai were highly delightful. I will definitely go back to this restaurant and highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience either a little piece of home, or just gain some new experiences."

"The best hibachi style scallops you will find. The xoxo roll is amazing. Good variety of saki. The mandatory valet parking is akward. Will be back and recommend to anyone."

"The food was very good once we deciphered the menu. We sat on the service side of the restaurant (not the Hibachi side) and felt like the waiter was lacking. We had a party of 8 and there was no initial introduction or recommendation from the kitchen. Food was brought out correctly and tasted delicious. Overall a good to very good experience."
