EXECUTIVE CHEF, BRYAN GREGG HAS AN EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF FARM TO FORK COOKING AS WELL AS PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH LOCAL GROWERS, FARMERS AND FISHERMAN. HIS BELIEF IS TO KEEP THINGS SIMPLE AND TO LET THE QUALITY OF THE INGREDIENTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. "We had heard the view is amazing which it is but the food was just OK. We actually had very good meals and our waiter was great. If you read the website it makes you feel that this is a very upscale place. Possibly that is what the owners intended however it is not. We did get dressed up because there are so few places in Jersey City that people dress nice for and we like to get dressed up sometimes. We were the only ones. The majority of people come in with shorts and tee shirts, very beach like atmosphere except for the people that are there for private parties"

"Entertained family on this occasion. Excellent food and atmosphere. Restaurant is located on the water and you can see the new World Trade Center and the New York City skyline quite vividly. There were three wedding receptions going on at the same time but it did not impact our dining experience."

"Having read most of the reviews on OpenTable and Yelp, I had medium expecations. This really is a beautiful space with phenomenal views. We were a group of 14 (had a prior reservation) and given that the weather was nice, they were able to accomodate my request to move our tables outside (after they had already been set up inside). This was very much appreciated. Service as not too fast and not too slow given the size of the table. Food was fairly priced. The salmon I had was rather ho-hum, whereas the person next to me had the Seabass which looked great and apparently tasted great, as well. I would come back again for the views, and would be more careful with the food choices. BTW, they could really use some daily specials!"

"The venue, located on the Hudson, provides stunning views of the NYC skyline. We went to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The restaurant proved to be true to the majority of posts on Open Table - you go for the views, not the food. Lobster medallions sounded like a winner appetizer, but showed up dry and needing to be drowned in drawn butter (provided) to be edible. Red Snapper was rubbery, and the sea bass was overcooked. Desserts were just average - about what you could get buying mousse cake at Costco. Certainly not a place for foodies. Wait staff was attentive, but the hostesses were immature. It's hard to run a successful business when you have kids minding the front desk. Seems like a great place for drinks - dinner, no!"

"I took my wife and sister to Anthony's for the Mothers Day dinner. We were all impressed with the NY scenic view of the Hudson river and the NY skyline. We were not to impressed however with the cold food lack of veggie on the menu. The place is open, airy and clean as a whistle. The food was tasty but cold."

"A surprise was waiting for dinner on Friday night. It was Michael Anthony's. What a great restaurant in Newport. Everything from service to dessert was superb. The food was delicious and well displayed. This was a first visit and I brought my mom who was visiting for Mothers Day. One always likes to impress one's mother, and our visit to MA's certainly did that. Thanks for a great evening."

"Got there at time of reservation, they told us it would be a thirty minute wait because there were three parties going on. I had come for a business dinner so it was more than a little incovenient. On top of that the noise level was so high it was impossible to hear ourselves, ended up going to another restaurant in Jersey City. I get it if the restuarant is going to have parties, they bring in a lot of revenue, but you should either not take a reservation that you cannot hold to or call your diner and let them know the situation so they can make another choice."

"The only truly special thing about this place is the view. Everything else is just average. We ate in the patio area during the winter season/ The room itself was cold and there was a door right by us that people kept coming in and out of only making it worse. On top of that the door never fully closed so I'd have to get up and close it during our dinner. The atmosphere also was pretty lacking. I could see this place being gorgeous in the summer time with the big sliding doors open, but their winter setup just didn't really work."

"My experience at Michael Anthony's was beyond my expectations. Everything was amazing from the moment we walked in to time we left. The food and service was really good. Everyone was friendly and kind. Overall, my time spent here was well worth it. My boyfriend and I had the best dining experience. We would definitely go back and we referred our friends and family and shared our experience with them.
