Market Street Oyster Bar - Cottonwood
In 2000, Gastronomy opened it"s first location outside of downtown Salt Lake City. Located in the southern part of the city, the Market Street Grill and Oyster Bar Cottonwood were Gastronomy's first restaurants built from the ground up. Serving the same delicious fresh seafood and tender steaks that you have come to enjoy at our other Market Street locations, but with stunning views of the Wasatch mountains, our Cottonwood location also features a Fresh Fish Market and spectacular patio dining. Private dining facilities include our Creekside Private Rooms, the Garden Court adjacent to Big Cottonwood Creek, and extraordinary Roof Top Dining.

"As a party of 3 we were seated at a Bar table meant for 2. The restaurant was very hot and the usual loud noise level was extreme. All of this resulted in an unappetizing experience."

"We had a good experience primarily due to the great service from the wait staff. The food was alright. Decent prices. I would definitely recommend but would stress to the seafood foodie to not get their expectations too high."

"We wanted clams in a white sauce. You had manila clams..not worth the cost. You have great competition when it comes to clams with a white sauce at Tuscany, or Francs or Primo's or even Lunganos. The oysters were fine and we certainly enjoyed the wine."

"Service was great. Entree prices are getting more expensive as they are every where but the portions are smaller and now charging extra for the small salad. The taste of the food was good.

"Our group (of 6) experienced the worst service any of us could remember in recent history. When we spoke with the manager to request a new server, the mgr was polite but seemed incapable of handling the problem. He slipped into service mode by offering water, etc, but the replacement waiter was also lackluster and rude. I have always enjoyed MSOB, but this experience soured me a bit. I've never spent so much to be treated so poorly, as though we were an imposition on the server's time. The food was average with small portions, good thing we had bread. What a shame, and I was truly embarrassed to host my friends in that environment. Never again."

"The service was outstanding and our server really made our night. The appetizer and deserts were excellent but out entrées were really sub-par. Food was over-cooked and lacked quality from previous dining experiences here. We have dined here multiple times and this was the first time we came away disappointed with our food. It was a very busy night which may have contributed to the poor entrées."

"The food was great - the oysters were TINY, which was a disappointment. Service was difficult because it was Valentine's Day. We weren't upset because we understood, but it did take over an hour to get our dinner. 30+ minutes for our oyster appetizer. Waiter was nice - just a bit overwhelmed. We will definitely go again - it's one of our favorite restaurants."

"Husband specifically requested his birthday dinner at this establishment. Made the reservation online, no problem which was great. Arrived and was seated immediately,great too. That pretty much ended there.
Our server was unknowledgable, unfriendly and uninterested. The food was completely substandard, not at all what I expect from the Oyster Bar. My order was wrong, not once but twice. My poor husband who is the calmest person I know, went and tracked down the manager to speak with him. How awful is that to have to do on your birthday in front of your guests? The manager asked me "what would you like me to do to make this better for you?" I stated "I just want my dinner made right" he said he would handle it....guess what? It wasn't"
