It’s comfortable, but boasts a menu that expands your boundaries. It’s eccentric, but offers the famous fares that made Eddie Matney Arizona’s celebrity chef. It is the hot new restaurant, perfectly positioned in the middle of the high-style Old Town dining district. It is evolved, but fresh and innovative. It is simple, but complex, savory and delightful. It is a place to bring her for your first date, or show off your first baby, or celebrate your silver anniversary.
"There was a great variety of food and particularly loved the omelet bar and our server was outstanding! Upon arriving, we were given a table in the sun, so we asked to be seated inside. The hostess told us this was our only option and she moved an umbrella to cover 3/4 of the table. We stayed and moved our table and seats as the sun moved."

"We have been to many Mother's Day buffets. This was delicious. But it was crowded and was pricier than one would expect; especially since Open Table listed the restaurant with just two $ signs. I don't know if that was a miscommunication, or incompetence, but we were very surprised by the bill when comparing it to other Mother's Day experiences at $$$$ restaurants."

"Eddie's House is one of our favorite places to go. The menu is terrific, but we usually order the specials because they are so enticing. The staff are very attentive, but not overbearing and very helpful in making menu selections. I highly recommend going straight to Eddie's House, now!"

"Overpriced. We are happy to pay for outstanding food, but $15 for a shrimp appetizer that was only 4 very small shrimp? And a lamb chop appetizer w/ 3 chops was $20 and waiter suggested we add a 4th chop since there were two of us. This added $6 -- $26 total for an appetizer? We will not likely return. There are too many amazing restaurants to choose from in this city."

"I felt like the menu was still "heavy" with foods from the winter and hadn't changed over yet and we dined on 4/26 when it was in the 90's. I had the short rib special and it was way too salty. Our server did an average job. If he'd been on it, our bar tab would have been higher!"

"This was our first time at Eddie's House, but we've been longtime fans. We enjoyed the 7th Street and the 24th Street locations as well, and frequented them when we visited my mother in central Phoenix. We live in Gold Canyon now, but we'll be making the drive in and bringing our friends from the "outlying areas". The food is worth the drive!"

"The food was variable at our table of 4. 2 meals very good, one good and the fourth was at best average. Below what I have come to expect from this establishment. The wait staff was OK but did not real give a good welcome feel, more aloof than usual. Overall would not recommend at this time."

"We reviewed OPEN TABLE comments and decided to give Eddie's House a try with our out-of-town guests who are true "foodies." We sat on the patio and our server Daniel was very personable and gave us great recommendations. Although it was a bit noisy, we quickly forgot about that and were consumed with the overall experience. The foods each had a unique twist and we each enjoyed our drinks, entrees and dessert. We would highly recommend Eddie's House for a unique dining experience."

"we were seated in a section in which there were several families conducting competing seders...we requested a change and were told that the entire restaurant was similarly occupied... the service was god-awful slow...and the server did not bring what we had asked for - so we had to ask someone else... the horseradish was very strong and was put all over the fish...without asking... all in all I would not recommend Eddie's House for a seder again.. we will go someplace else next year!"

"Heard a lot about Eddie's House so was anxious to go. Service was poor, we had to ask several times for lemon for our water, our appetizers took way too long and our entrees were loaded with salt. All of us had the same complaint. We were forgotten about for a long period of time, I'm guessing because there was a celebrity with a large party who were more important. We had to ask 4 times for dessert menus - then had to send mine back because the creme brulee was literally running off my plate. I was told by the waitress that "ours is more runny than most" I've never had a runny creme brulee in my life. Anyway, I was really disappointed that we were so disappointed because I was really hoping to love this place."

"Overall a very good restaurant. This was our third time to dine here. We brought out of town "foodie" friends with us this time. Love the option to chose 1/2 portions. Don't love the lighting after sunset. It was too dim and we had to ask for a flashlight to read the menu."

"Had a 7:00 reservations and made us wait 35 minutes. When we checked with the hostess after 15 minutes she let us know that she did not forget us we were the next 4 top. She seated a party of 3 at the next 4 top which we could see from where we were waiting and told me they were 5 people in that party. Was afraid to complain because she could have made our wait longer than the 35 minutes. Waitress ordered the wrong thing for my wife and they quickly fixed that by taking the salmon off of the salmon dinner and made it into a salmon ceasar salad which was she ordered. Ordered waffle fries that showed up as we were finishing our meal, but don't worry they were not going to not be charging for those or my wife's meal."

"Went to Eddies for the first time on Valentines Day. Pretty crowded, waited 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, table added to aisle, got bumped as waitstaff rushed in and out if the prep area.
Food was great, very unique presentation, very flavorful, right temperature--very pleased."

"Had reservations on a Saturday night and still had to wait over 30 minutes for a table. The place was very busy and noisy. Food was good with some unusual selections. Customers can order half servings, which gives you an opportunity to try more than one selection. Great idea!"

"Dined for brunch and was very disappointed. While I have had many great dinners here, I do not feel the restaurant tried for brunch. To start, we walked in behind two gentlemen who were looking to eat. Two servers were discussing something near the kitchen and did not even acknowledge us. Finally, someone came and took the two men outside to a table, we waited as we could she was getting them water, napkins , etc and not even in a hurry to seat us. She then walked back in and told another girl that she should seat us. We sat at a table in a restaurant that looked closed and only opened as an after thought. We wanted french toast and 2 hours into brunch we were told they were out already. The coffee was terrible as it tasted old ."

"This is our second visit to Eddie's and will not be our last. We arrived for Happy Hour and found that the wines featured were notably good, rather than just inexpensive. Our server was very attentive and helpful. The food was fabulous!"

"Have eaten at Eddies numerous times over the past few years. On this visit, the food was good, as always. The menu is a little short, but what they have is very good, and very consistent. Favorites are Chilean Sea Bass for myself, and my wife loves the bacon infused meat loaf. I do think the service has slipped a bit over the past year or so, and on this visit the noise from the bar area was more than in the past. Still, Eddies is a good reliable choice for a good meal in nice surroundings."

"My only issues is how the checks are broken down, we asked for separate checks and they insisted on one check which always makes a few pay more when a couple decide to stiff the group, it ended up taking an hour of our time that night too, just figuring out the checks."

"Eddie's food was outstanding but our experience was spoiled by extremely poor service. Just as examples:
Lobster Macaroni and Cheese was ordered as a side dish. It arrived 5 minutes after the entrees. A salad was ordered at the same time our appetizer was ordered. It was delivered 15 minutes after the entrees. We waited 20 minutes after we finished our entrees and salad for the waiter to appear and offer deserts. When he appeared the desert menu was just dropped on the table as if he could care less if we wanted anything. It took 10 minutes after we asked to get the check. It took 20 minutes to have the check taken to the cash register. By this time my dinner mates had left and I was sitting alone waiting for the waiter."
