Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse
The Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse is legendary for its extensive wild game selection, and many of those same animals roam freely over our 48,000 acre ranch and namesake near Kerrville, Texas.
For those in the mood to try something out of the ordinary, the Y.O. offers venison, game birds and our signature dish, the buffalo filet mignon.
The beef at the Y.O. is U.S.D.A. Prime and is hand-cut in house. We employ a method very similar to the one the ranch hands have been using for more than 125 years.
The Y.O Steakhouse private dining, bar and banquet facilities can accommodate parties from 20-300 for business or pleasure, day or night. Your guests will experience a uniquely Texan and memorable dining experience combined with the highest quality food and service available.

"I wanted "authentic" Texas steakhouse. The staff was very nice but that was the best part of the experience. We ordered the "famous" chili. Greasy and full of cheap hamburger meat. Our (2) entrees were on par with food you would get at a catering hall. The food preparation is poor and the sides are all swimming in butter (a trick most quick serve restaurants use to add flavor ). Nice people , lousy food (and not cheap). Save your money...."

"I've had better service and food at Texas Land & Cattle/Saltgrass. Waiter was slow and provided poor service. Extremely rude when he stepped to the side of the table and counted his tip. Manager on duty clearly showed preferential treatment to his friends that walked in after we were seated. Food tasted like it had been kept under a warmer. Most positive dish was the house salad and macaroni and cheese. The scallops were over cooked and the lobster coating was soggy. The veggies on both plates were over cooked and dry. The oysters as the appetizer were very bland and soggy. Nothing crispy about it. Very disaapointing experience and not worth the prices."

"Read the reviews/menus and was excited to go out to a place that was more than just a typical steakhouse. Unfortunately, the experience did no live up to expectations. Our wine that we ordered when we ordered our meal, came after the second course was already out. The second course came out while we were still in the middle of our first course. Our appetizer was so salty (the oysters) we could not eat it (a first for us). We've had it this was before at other places and loved it. We told the waitress why we didn't eat it- no manager stopped by, but it did still show up on our bill. The main course was just OK. The saving grace of the meal was the desserts which were very good (apple crisp? and watermelon sorbet)."

"We met the chef/owner and was very nice. Overall, everything was great and we greatly enjoyed everything ordered. The steaks although prime and us being able to see them before being cooked, were more expensive than expected for not being aged. They were juicy tender, and had great flavor. We had the venison rollups, which were excellent, and the gouda mac and cheese was delicious. Overall, we had a great time, and would say it was an above average eating experience."

"The food was good, but when I have poor service it is hard to reccomend a place. The people that kept our water full and table cleared were far better than our server that did not notice our drinks from the bar were empty several times. We had to grab someone to get us another drink. We got a fill in waiter in the middle of our meal that tried to help our waitress out, but he did not offer us drinks with dessert or coffee. He took our order, came back later to verify and we were afraid to add drinks at this point for fear of adding more time. We had to grab someone to get our check and the manger came by to tell us he was sorry we never got our chilie. We never ordered chilie. The staff seemed unorganized and scattered."

"This was a date night for my wife and I. We have 3 kids and rarely find time to get away. I thought I would find a nice steak house and we would spend some more money than usual to have a nice meal. First of all let me say that I have had better steak at Outback, Salt Grass, Logans and Texas Roadhouse. I paid way too much for the quality of steak and lack of flavor. My wife had a New York Strip that was $47 and I had a ribeye that was $38. Both were poor quality cuts. Mind you that the price is just for the steak not including the sides. We spent over $150 by the time it was all said and done. The sides were actually very good but who goes to a steakhouse only for the sides?"

"This was my first steakhouse in Dallas and Texas. I was in town on a short "get away" and this was recommended to me by bar staff at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. I made reservations thru open table and was seated right away. Friendly and expceptional staff who knew the menu and offerings to a 'T'. The menu was vibrant...which made ordering difficult tho lol (in a good sense). I recommend the Shrimp & Lobster bisque..it was EPIC. My steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It truly was one of the best steaks I ever had. The ambiance in the dining area is "ok" Staff and Food make this place a true downtown gem!"

"The restaurant struck me as having gone downhill since I last visited 5 or 6 years ago. My venison was off tasting and my rice came to the table cold, but good tasting. The ambiance seems to have suffered in an effort to maximize seating. The menu struck me as having lost many of its unique entrees. I did find out that they had some wild game entrees that were specials and not on the menu. Overall it was passable, but I will probably search for a new dining pinnacle for myself as the visit left me pining for the memory of what it used to be."

"I was in Dallas for a conference and booked the week before. The service was good. But, it took a little while for our waiter to arrive with the menu. The quality of the steak I received was very good. The desert was great as well. I would recommend for a special evening out or small client dinner."

"My husband and I went to the YO Steakhouse for dinner for our anniversary. It was our first time there and we cannot wait to go again. The service was great and the food was fantastic! The buffalo fillet was amazing and cooked perfectly. It was a very enjoyable experience."
