Tony's
It began in a small kitchen in Civitanova del Sannio, Italy. Like most Italian families, we spent a lot of time in the kitchen. Mom had a saying-"there’s always room for one more at my table". Mom always provided an unbelievable meal and made sure every guest felt like part of the family. Today, I’m proud to carry on her tradition of serving great food with genuine hospitality. It's what makes a great meal a memorable experience. Enjoy USDA prime beef, the freshest seafood and Mediterranean specialties served graciously by a talented and appreciative staff. "Tony's was a good restaurant with good food, outstanding service. Their steaks and seafood were great, the sides lacked that oomph that would have put them in the great category. I may be picky, but a true Greek Salad usually features Greek Olives, not your typical out of the can black and green olives. Their bread prior to the meal was very good, crunchy, with a soft flavorful bread. Their creme brulee was so so, so I should have tried their chocolate dessert choice. Wine list extensive and the quality was good. I would suggest to my friends that they visit this restaurant. They are on the verge of greatness with a few tweaks on their sides and salads."

"Dined here on Mothers Day with my wife and mother, it was my mother's first time here. She was very impressed and amazed at this place. The food...as always...was incredible. Shannon was our server and did a fantastic job. He had a great personality, spaced our meal out very well, we were never rushed, nor did we ever wait a long time for the next serving. Crab cakes...incredible as always, the center cut filet was cooked to absolute perfection, the surf and turf was just the right size...normally we take some of it home just because the serving is huge. And the canolli's....wow. It is such a pleasure to have a fine establishment like this in the northern Cincinnati area!!!"

"Food here is always top notch. The front dining room can be extremely noisy; back room is quieter but much less atmosphere so it's a trade off. My one complaint - I wish the bar area was bigger. It's always jam packed with people (I suspect many come just for the bar scene) and if you arrive a few minutes early for your reservation it's virtually impossible to find a seat there to have a drink until your table is ready."

"First time at Tony's and the NY Strip was the best I have ever had in Cincinnati - bar none. Enjoyed the friendliness of owner Tony Ricci and the Hostess. However, on the negative side, our server, although very apologetic , let us down by not acknowledging us for about 12 minutes or more after being seated (without menus as the servers provide the menus) - alledgedly due to us having carried our cocktails from the bar area to our table. We were left to hailing a water-server who summoned our server. Offer of gratuitous dessert less than satisfying on 46th Anniversary celebration which was noted in our reservation but not acknowledged by anyone until we were leaving and then only by the Hostess."

"We took some friends of ours to Tony's and had another amazing dining experience! The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and Tony and his group do a fantastic job of making their guests feel at home and welcome. The food is wonderful and so are the specials. If you go on the weekend, be sure to make a reservation, and hang around to hear the jazz group that plays on the weekend evenings. You won't be disappointed!"

"Tony's aims to take on the Jeff Ruby restaurants and a lot of the staff (including Tony) used to work for Jeff Ruby. The price point is similar to Jeff Ruby's, but has a bit more value with a salad and potato included with each steak. Shannon was our waiter on this visit. Excellent service! He noticed my date seemed cold and took care of raising the temperature as soon as possible. We both appreciated that. He also had a great personality that made the visit more enjoyable. The food was excellent. Would recommend the place if you are looking for a fancy place with good food."

"As big fans of the Ruby restaurants, we had been wanting to try out Tony's as an alternative for quite some time. While the service was outstanding, the filet did not have much flavor and was not evenly cooked. The caesar salad was a bit bland and dessert was average. "Tony's was outstanding at every turn. We went for a special occasion, we are new to the area. We were greeted enthusiastically at every turn on our way to our table. Our waiter was charming and discreet. He was helpful in selecting wine and entrees.
The food was from the first to the last on point delicious. We had the filet and the Dallas Clark strip steak, both cooked to perfection and tasty. We both had the Caesar Salad, flavorful, and we chose a side of sauteed spinach. We wanted the creamed spinach, but decided on the healthier saute, which was enough to share.
Our wine was a full bodied super Tuscan, which married perfectly with the steaks.

"The food was great and portions were huge. The server was good but it was very crowded (Saturday night) so the attention was a little lacking because of how busy it was. The one negative is that it was VERY noisy and then they had a piano player on top of the diner/restaurant noise. I would say at least the tables are situated so that you're not on top of each other, even if the noise was loud. Overall, good but if you're wanting a quiet intimate dinner, maybe go during the week."

"Tony's never disappoints from the friendly and charming hostess to the polite and attentive bus person, they all add to a very pleasant night out. And a special nod to Andrew our waiter! He was fantastic! Not to mention the food! Cooked to perfection! Do not skip dessert. The homemade Tiramisu is worth every calorie! What a wonderful dining experience!"

"This was our second time dining at Tony's and once again I was impressed. It is a pleasant departure from the "Ruby" restaurants of Cincinnati. While the service staff and food are amazing at both places, there is something more genuine about Tony's. Every staff member as you walk to your table stops to invite you to "enjoy your meal" or "welcome" you. Again as you exit, every staff member stops again to thank you. Food quality was good, but it is the service staff that stands above."

"Everyone in our group of 5 was very pleased. The special bone-in ribeyes at market price were worth the price and prepared perfectly to order. The sea bass special was amazing - layers of flavor and perfect texture pleased the palate as much as the presentation pleased the eye. The bucatini puttanesca rivaled the sea bass with layers of mouth-pleasing flavor and perfectly cooked pasta. The service, headed by Eileen, was everything one would wish -- polished, accommodating, pleasant and never obtrusive. Tony was a warm, welcoming host when he stopped by the table. This is my second time within a month to bring a small group to Tony's, and I look forward to another soon."

"Been here several times and have never been disappointed. The service is perfect; attentive but not smothering. Tony always visits every table. You can tell he has a passion for his place. Wife had the usually terrific sea bass. I had the special bone in strip. Incredibly tender for a strip, generously thick. I never had this cut before and can say its now my fave. Pricy, yes. But you won't find a more special Italian steakhouse in the city. Always worth it."

"The food was great and the orders we placed ranged from steaks to seafood to pasta. The service staff from our server (Michelle???) to Tony himself is very personable and attentive. Our entrees took a while longer to come out than I would have expected but they were all delicious and worth the extra wait.
The atmosphere was lively with a good mix of ages, table sizes, etc., and the band was very good as well.
We'll be back."
