"My husband & I had dinner at Tim Schafer's last week. It's one of our favorite places in Morristown. Or it used to be. We had the worst service that I've had in a restaurant, maybe ever. The food was good as always but service so incredibly bad. We had a Living Social coupon for the restaurant. I showed it to the waiter when we first sat down. We ordered 4 appetizers. The waiter said we couldn't do that with the coupon. I asked him to check. He came back & said it was ok. We got the first dish after about 25 minutes. The we waited 1/2 hour for the next one. Then we waited 40 minutes for the 3rd appetizer and another 20 minutes after that, the last one came out. It took 2 hours to get 4 appetizers. They offered no explanation or apology."

"As some prior reviewers have suggested. If this place was in NYC, it would have gone out of business many years ago. The food was overwhelmed by the use of pepper. The place is very outdated, and not in the best (safest) part if town. I will never go back."

"For Restaurant Week we did 3 course prix fixe menu which was a good value, although more limited selection. Everything was tasty. Not huge portions for a hungry guy. Very attentive service, sometimes too much as we were three old friends catching up, but they also didn' t rush us once they realized we were not in a hurry. Byo which is good and they serve wine as if they had a liquor license in terms of chilling, correct glasses, refilling etc. All in all a very pleasant evening."

"Generally this restaurant is much better, but I was disappointed this time. The crab cake under the barramundi was primarily bread; not much crab. And two different waiters asked the same question on two occasions, i.e., after we told one waiter that we were not interested in dessert, another waiter came by and asked again. Guess they weren't busy so they had to hover? I hope this particular Friday evening was just an anomaly."

"One of our favorite Morristown restaurants. Excellent service, fabulous food that's delicious and always presented beautifully. Great for both romantic dinners and group outings; I've been there on dates and with a group of 15. Short ribs were perfect, and try the bread pudding! Waiters are always friendly and knowledgeable."

"The meal itself was superb and further enhanced by the staff and the overall ambiance. From the assistance provided prior to arrival (placing flowers I purchased prior to our arrival); assignment to a nicely located table; an enthusiastic greeting on arrival even addressing me by name although we had met only about 4 hours prior. The service by all including the chef, who came to our table to answer questions from my wife was friendly, attentive and with just the right amount of humor to suit each guest.

"We had a great post Valentine's Day dinner at Tim Schaeffer's. Wait staff was very attentive opening our wine immediately and telling us about specials that were not even on the daily specials menu as they had just received some fresh fish. I took our server's recommendation for the fresh tuna appetizer and was very glad I did. Seared outside, raw inside, sesame crusted ahi tuna over a cucumber slaw with an Asian flavor accompanied by two dipping sauces. One he explained was a Ponzu based sauce the other a wasabi cream. It rocked! Everything we has was similarly excellent down to the coffee which was just great. Next time I am bringing a dessert wine for the very nice selection of desserts. We will be back!"
