"I saw a sign in New Orleans advertising Besh showing that John Besh had been voted the #1 Chef in Gambit Magazine. He must've been absent the night we dined! Actually, I know he was in New York for a competition that week. My BFF and I dined Wednesday night, June 5th, really didn't need reservations. I had read reviews for Besh on Trip Advisor that showed this as a 'don't miss, worth the price,' not so much in our opinion. Nothing we had was memorable or particularly good except for the Iceberg salad (wasn't crazy about the 'bacon' bits or the 'mash' dressing. My friend said the beet salad was very good."

"This fine dining restaurant had terrible service and no standards. When the floor manager asked me how my food was and I told her I did not like the "shrimp broth", she informed me it was an optional sauce I did not have to add to my dish. The bread server tossed bread on one of our plates instead of placing it. Very few patrons were dressed appropriately or addressed about this matter. I was extremely disappointed with this meal - so much for our anniversary celebration."

"As is typical, Besh Steakhouse again delivered. Fresh ingredients, appropriate seasonings, and professional service staff made our meal enjoyable. Many times we have eaten at other New Orleans "hotspots" including John Besh's other establishments, and said " this meal was as good Besh Steakhouse". Other times we lament and wish we would have eaten at Besh. Food, service, pacing, and menu choices are top notch."

"A little overpriced but you are dining at a casino.
Was able to get a reservation at 6pm on Saturday for 8pm that night.
The pate / bread was very good; appetizer sliders was great; salad was meh; steak dinner was great and they split it up for us to share."

The sea bass was not anything I would order again only because it had curry and I don't like curry. It was a special.
The appetizer of three sliders was to die for but a little salty. The dessert the banana foster was not what i expected and it was too expensive. would not order it again. It was a very little round layered cake the side of bottom of a small glass. It also had large very large pieces of white chocolate surrounding it like a crown. The choc was great.
All the soups are awesome."

"I was excited about visiting a Besh establishment after seeing John Besh on the Food Network and seeing some favorable reviews. Our dining experience was mediocre. Our waitress seemed as if we were infringing on her time. My steak was pretty good, but my wife's was unevenly seasoned. When asked for a refill on iced tea, the waitress disappeared for quite a while and somebody else finally brought tea. My wife had a similar experience waiting for a glass of wine. I have eaten at some of the top steakhouses, but Besh's is not the same caliber. Overall, we were disappointed in the food and service."

"Had nice table for special occassion with my wife. After introductions by waiter and menus, he went to other table. Apparently a glass was broken so our waiter is sweaping up glass instead of waiting on us. No other workers in resaurant were monitoring our lack of progress. Since we were getting ready to commit to a large expense with wine and dinner, walked out then had to struggle finding dinner elsewhere. Aweful service and I don't like wasting money on failing service. Apparently a broken glass is more important than my wife and I at this resaurant."

"This was my 2nd visit. The 1st time, Sept. 2011, I had the worst rib eye ever. My wife and I have been to 10 Ruth Chris and 4 Capital Grille's across the country, some 3 or 4 times, so we know a good rib eye and good food. However, to be fair, I gave it a second chance. Better but not by much. Maybe it is the style of cooking but no matter, we will not go back. The are many good restaurant in NOLA. In no way should this be considered a knock on the employees, they were excellent."

"Food was good but not great as you would expect from a Besh establishment. We were seated in the small booths as you enter the restaurant. Once other guests were seated in that same area, the sound was absolutely distracting. The celing design above the booths is arched, and apparently the sound travels around the arch to the other end. It was as though speaker was blaring behind us the entire meal. Very disappointing."

"The food and service were great, but the location in the Harrah's casino with an open entry allowed the smell of stale cigarette smoke to permeate the space. As a non smoker who hasn't had to think about this issue for a long time it took away from the experience and is why I rated the ambiance as poor and the overall experience as fair instead of higher as the food and service ratings would indicate."

"Overall I was not as impressed as I had hoped. I am a fan of John Besh but I think this offering was less than stellar. I really do believe it is the fact that Harrahs casino "taints" the food/service as I have tried Paul's Deen's restaurant in the Harrahs at Tunica and it was similarly disappointing."

"Besh Steak was good but I expected it to be better than it was. The best item was the free chicken liver pate that was brought to every table. I thought the food was over sauced and over rich competing with the natural flavors of the food. Unfortunately, we have many restaurants in Minneapolis that are better."

"It was really really good. We had Steak and I like my steak sizzling on the plate but sizzling or not it came out perfect. My husband had the Rib Eye and I had the Filet. I would definitely get the Rib Eye next time. We had some kind of Pasta Shell stuffed with crab meat in a dill sauce for appetizer. It was awewsome."

"Service was well below par. Had to wait for a beverage for 10 minutes and by that time the beer was hot. The food runner seemed to care more about us than the waiter. This is the reason I stopped going here in the first place (service). The food is always solid but is overshadowed by the poor service."
