"My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, and wanted to go somewhere special. The meal was first class. We were both very pleased with our choices, and our portions. It is very expensive, but I must say that it was worth it. The service was only ok. I think our waiter was very busy, so we may not have gotten quite as much attention. Overall, a great evening and we will definitely celebrate special occasions there again."

"The 801 Chophouse wasvery good. The NY Strip steak and filet we had were tender and cooked to perfection. The appetizer list is delicious and unusual. We had lobster corndogs, very good. The wine list is extensive as are the offerings from the bar."

"Ambiance: Lots of warm wood, pretty lighting, white table cloths, and light jazz & big band music.
Food: lobster tail was spectacular, filet was delicious and cooked perfectly, sides are chophouse-style, so made to share. We enjoyed the mushrooms, found the creamed spinach pretty standard, and the French fries were tasty. Chocolate soufflé was awesome!!

"Everything about our dinner was impressive, from the cocktails to dessert. The steaks were the best I've had in Omaha (or almost anywhere else), perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Our appetizer, salads and entrees were perfectly timed so we didn't feel rushed or forgotten. Our server Leah was friendly and personable, as well as efficient. Her wonderful service set the perfect tone for the evening."

"Despite our asking the waiter to not rush us, the person assigned to our table pushed to get us to pay the bill at the end of the meal. We had been at the table about one hour! Before going, when the restaurant called to confirm we were told: "the chef expects you to spend no more than 90minutes dining with us, as we expect to be quite busy". Not nice."

"This is not creative "foodie" restaurant, but a great place if you are into steaks and good wine. My only issue is with the service. When the entrees arrived they were practically auctioned off - a server (not our waiter) came over with a plate of food, then announced what was on the plate and then looked around to see who would claim it. Lame. I think that the waiter can take a few seconds to clue the server in on who gets what. Also, the waiters removed glasses before we were done with our wine. At over $200 per bottle, I really *do* want to finish my wine. Overall, I expect better service for a dinner bill (for 6 people) of over $1200. As a caveat, this was the busiest weekend of the year - but service needs improvement."

"We came on a night when we were going to the Lied to a show. The service and food were OUTSTANDING! Probably some of the best we've ever encountered. The staff made sure we had an amazing dining experience and yet were mindful of time so we go to the show in perfect succession. My husband and I are "foodies" and we love a great wine list. Michael, our server, did everything possible to make our dining experience wonderful.....from giving us the history of the restaurant, to splitting our salad keeping the egg out of mine as he knew I didn't like it, to adding bacon to our au gratin potatoes after he learned that my husband loved bacon. Incredible attention to detail! And the best seafood bake and steak we've ever had! Wow!"

"The entire experience was unforgettable. The waiter was friendly, eager to explain the dining experience- since it was our first time, and very professional and knowledgable. We each ordered the strip steak, it was agreed that this was the best steak we had ever tasted; cooked and seasoned to perfection. We barely had room for our sides, garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. But, these were phenomenal, as well. This was a dining experience that will not be forgotten, everything about it was absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quality steak in Omaha. Lucky for us many directed us to this place, so I would like to direct you here by saying that you will not be disappointed!"

"My husband and I were in Omaha for a night and decided that we must go to a "good" steakhouse. Friends recommended 801 Chophouse and I must say it more than exceeded our expectations! I have the bone-in prime rib. It was the best piece of meat ever- juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. My husband's Delmonico was also very good, but we both agreed mine was way better. I highly recommend!!"

"Went as a business/social dinner to the 801. We were seated at about 6PM and the dining room was almost empty. The waiter gave us plenty of time to read the menu. He then showed and explained the various cuts of meat (not out of the ordinary for good Omaha steakhouses). I had the ahi tartare which was was presented nicely with wasabi drizzle. I enjoyed a filet mignon of a caliber I haven't had in nearly 10 years. The sides were served "family style" which were enough for each of my party to have about two servings of each side. We enjoyed a Sauvignon Cabernet which complimented our steaks quite excellently. Our waiter kept our drinks refilled and checked on us enough that we felt we were taken care of but did not become intrusive."

"There are better "fine steakhouses" in Omaha. The lobster and steak were not piping hot when they came out, which one would have expected in an upscale restaurant. The steak was not cooked to medium rare either. We had a lovely time, drinks and dessert were great, salads were good, but main course could have been more properly prepared."

"MY FIRST TIME AT 801 CHOPHOUSE WILL NOT BE THE LAST. DINNER AND THE ATMOSPHERE WAS NICE. ONCE THE DINING AREA FILLED, IT DID GET QUITE LOUD. I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED IN SOME OF THE SIDE ITEMS. THEY WERE ON THE ORDINARY FLAVOR SIDE FOR THE COST. BUT THE STEAK AND PREPARATION? PERFECTION! OVERALL VERY GOOD FOOD AND EXCEPTIONAL STAFF. I WILL BE BACK!

"First time at 801 Chophouse. Went on Valentine's Day. Had their "special" steak…a bone in filet. Had never had one of these. Definitely the best steak I've ever had in my life…and I'm 57 years old! Our waiter, Michael F., was terrific. We will be back and ask for Michael F.!"

"We ate at 801 for the first time last weekend. There were four in our party and made reservations online. Three people had the 8 oz filet done medium and I ordered the 16 oz ribeye. We ordered hashbrowns and creamed corn for our sides. The sides were very good but only one of our steaks were done the way a $45 steak should be done.....perfect. Two of the filets were medium rare and my ribeye had obviously been done earlier and set aside as it was a warm temp at best. Now, I am not a super picky eater, however when the bill is $300 for a party of four my expectations are elevated like the bill. I just cannot recommend the restaurant based on our experience. I would be willing to try it again but not for $300 (tip included)."

"Great place-nice ambiance. We were there for my wife's birthday and this was our first visit.
My filet was good though I ordered medium rare and received medium. My wife had the baked lobster which was just o.k. due to the spices used in the crab meat (way too much).
Our server was plesant but did not discuss specials or give any information about the restaurant. We noticed other servers were doing this with their tables. We assumed she was inexperienced, however, she did nice job answering our questions."

"It was an amazing way to celebrate a birthday. The bartender was fantastic, and he helped us find the perfect wine and cocktails before dinner. Start to finish, the food was outstanding. We passed up an 18 oz bone-in filet for the dry-aged porkchop and the smaller filet. Just for kicks, we added scallops along side. The side of Maytag blue roasted potatoes were the perfect addition. The souffle at the end had an added "Happy Birthday" message. With an espresso, the evening ended perfectly.
The front of house staff was incredible knowledgeable and professional, and the quality of the ingredients was fantastic, from the bar selection to the desserts.
I intend to make this a stop every time we're in Omaha."
