"We really enjoyed celebrating our 19th anniversary at the Sawmill Sherwood Park. Our server seemed like she might be new, so service was a bit slow at times, but she made up for it with enthusiasm and a great, personable attitude. Our post dinner coffees came cold...we returned his(I'm ok with cool coffee)& he was almost finished his dessert before his coffee came back. Again, they made up for it by taking both of our desserts off the bill (we were only entitled to receive one complimentary dessert for our anniversary) as well as crediting the extra ice cream that my husband ordered. The food was fantastic. His steak was amazing, my chicken and ribs lovely, and the whiskey shrimp appetizer was one of the best appetizers I've ever had!"

"Most of our visit was great, our only problem was that it seemed like our server forgot a out us, more then once. She said she was going to get us water and never returned, we actually had to go up and ask her for some. Other then that it was a good experience, the food was amazing and the drinks were great!"

"Group of 8 went to this resraurant for a special occasion. Lots of choices on the menu and the service from our waiter was excellent. Our party included several seniors and being able to carry on a conversation without having to shout over background music and groups of partyers was especially welcome. Would definitely return for another special occasion."

"The server needs to be educated in how to handle payments. He left the table with our credit card and continued to bring orders out to table near by without processing our bill. After awhile I have retreaved our card without having the bill. The manager was apologetic which did not much changed the experience.

"We decided to have our wedding at the Sawmill. The location had a private seating area that we knew would be perfect for our wedding. Carlo, T.J and the serving staff were absolutely fabulous. They cleared part of the room and set up chairs in front of the fireplace for our ceremony. We were able to arrange for a group menu that had a variety of entree choices for all our guests. The staff who provided service for dinner were absolutely fantastic. The food and wine were great, and we truly could not have had things go better.
We very much appreciate all the hard work that went into making our experience at the Sawmill, one that we will remember forever!

"Have eaten there several times in the past and everything was good but was disappointed this time. I went to Facebook and checked "Liked" but there was no sign of any free appies. Thank goodness we had a cocktail before all arrived because we were never asked if we would like some wine with our dinner. We were all anxious to sing happy birthday and cut the cake and serve it but we sat for about 1/2 hr. before our plates were taken away after we ate the main course."

"We frequent the Sawmill on Calgary Trail for many years but left about 8 years ago due to poor service, quality of food and the salad bar which was always a very popular draw for us went down hill. Upon allowing the birthday boy his wish for a restaurant of his choice we decided to try the Sawmill once again but this time going to Sherwood Park. We had enquired from friends who live in the Park and they assured us it was a good choice. We went with the expectations of going to the Salad bar and found there was none but with the choices on the menu we went away very happy to have once again going to the Sawmill. Would still like to see a salad bar."

"The Sawmill dining room is a lovely place to come for brunch.. Service was great, our server was attentive & personable.
Other than the omelette, fresh fruit and lettuce, there were no gluten free choices. The Sawmill has been very good in the past with providing choices for people with celiac disease. To not have these choices on our last visit was unfortunate as our cousin (whose birthday we were celebrating) had very little she could eat - including at the dessert bar. I'm hopeful that food quality including more gluten free food choices can happen in the near future.

"We really enjoyed the food, the service was great and staff were very friendly, but I have to say we were not impressed with the drink from the bar, we did have a bottle of wine which was great. We always like to end our evening with a special coffee and I have to say your bar staff really need to brush up on that area. We ordered Irish Coffees they didn't have Jameson Irish whiskey so we settled for Bushmills Irish whiskey and when it came out to us it was nothing fancy just a cup of coffee with a shot of whiskey, no sugar on the rim, no whipped cream, no cherry.
When a person goes out for a good meal they like to end it with something nice and for us it's not dessert it's an Irish coffee and yes we were disappointed."

"We went for brunch on Easter Sunday and while we like the restaurant we found the brunch not the same quality as we have found dinners in the past.
We all thought the lighting was very poor in the brunch area and it was hard to see the food and tell what it was. The food was not as good as we had expected. We thought the display should be larger and with much more light.

One of my daughter's loves ribs and orders them everywhere she eats. She was not impressed at all by these ribs, there was not much taste and too much fat and veins.
I had the chicken neptune and was surprised that the chicken was tough and the toppings were ground up and not just the whole seafood as I have had everywhere else.

"While some of the meals at our table we done nicely, two of the steak orders were not cooked properly. One we sent back and had it redone and was still done incorrecly the second time. The first time it was not prepared corretly (was supposed to be cajen style) and was well done but requested medium. The second time it came out rare/medium rare not medium...The other steak was ordered medium rare and came out medium/well done.
The service was also slow...we had to ask for a glass a couple of times, toppings for the baked potato needed to be requested.
And, while we appreciate the one steak meal being taken off the bill and the complementary dessert, we would have rather had a dining experinece that was nice from the start."

"We went to the Sawmill Sherwood Park for brunch. The food that was available was good but there were lots of dishes that were pretty much empty. The cheese tray was almost done but when I asked if it was going to be replenished the waitress said no. She said because brunch was over at 2pm they didn't want to put out more food. She offered to get me some cheese from the tray that was there. I guess if I was to go back I would make sure that our reservations were for earlier in the day before our time of 12:30.We are regulars in the lounge at the Sawmill & always have great service & food. I guess we will just continue to visit the lounge side."

"It was probably the worst service that I have ever had in a restaurant. I took my wife out for a Valentine supper and we both left in a bad mood. The waiter (Stan) messed up the drink orders, so (1/2 hour later) when he came back to our table and we requested new drinks, he just topped up our ceasars with more clamato and charged us for extra clamato. We had to request a new waiter/waitress after an hour of waiting for our drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine for supper and the waitress brought a glass of wine. My wife ordered fried mushrooms and a shrimp skewer as side dishes with her prime rib and it didn't come with her supper. The "new" waitress that got assigned to us never came and asked us how our meal was."

"I booked a table for 2 via OpenTable for Sherwood Park's Sawmill restaurant 4 days in advance, for 5:30. The restaurant was not prepared for our arrival. We were seated at the very back of the dining area at a table for 4, and during our entire stay no attempt was made to clear the table of the excess tableware.
Our waitress was efficient but not especially friendly. We were told the evening special, and then ordered our drinks and dinner. The food was very good, and very expensive. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and lighting is perfect. I question the need for 4 (yes 4) hostesses, dressed in skin-tight outfits.
This was our first and last visit to Sawmill. Way too expensive, too impersonal."
