"This was out first visit to Savannah & 700 Drayton restaurant. We were staying close by and I had read other reviews that sounded real good. Our waitress was very helpful in helping us make our selections. The she-crab bisque was excellent. I would recommend you to not miss this excellent dining experience!"

"A group of three took a trip to Savannah for a non-Mother's Day weekend, and chose 700 Drayton for our Saturday dinner. We were impressed at the outset -- beautiful building, smart interior, limited but well-represented menu, and an attentive, accommodating, and knowledgeable staff who communicated well with the kitchen. We were very happy with our meals, and enjoyed the southern twist on the items. The kitchen is very talented! We will definitely recommend, and return to , 700 Drayton!"

"Great decor. We went with another couple to celebrate a friends graduation from nursing school. I ordered the quail and it was spot on. My wife ordered the pecan encrusted flounder. Very good. The restaurant made a special molten chocolate lava cake dessert with congratulations written in a strawberry syrup on the dish. Very appropriate. Would def go here again."

"We had the Peppercorn steak and it was fantastic. The food was wonderful. Our server was very nice and knew the menu well. The atmosphere was not as intimate as some of the other houses in Savannah. The scenery across the street is beautiful if you are luck to get a table so you can look out at the park."

"When I go to a restaurant in a hotel allied The Mansion, I expect everything to be top notch. There were several things that went awry. The background music disappeared and when our server told the manager, we never heard back from anyone ( and the music never ame back on). When our plates were delivered, they switched the temperature of our steaks. So we had to trade plates after we had already cut into them. There was a work function in the room next door which was fairly loud and their PowerPoint presentation kept glowing into our room. The ice cream was spectacular!"

"We had a reservation, but were seated about a half-hour late. Our waitress was very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful, though the service was a little slow. One gets the feeling that this is the kind of restaurant that expects you to dine for hours, and does not turn tables much -perhaps this is why the dining room did not seem very full, but we still had to wait for a 9PM reservation, and were sat even later. The food was delicious, thought the al-a-carte portions were small. The upstairs bar was great; it was a happening night spot, and had one of the best bands I have seen in a long time, doing jazz and funk standards with alacrity. I especially recommend eating at the bar and enjoying the strong entertainment."

"We stayed at the Mansion on Forsythe Park where this restaurant is and we had several meals here breakfast, lunch & dinner. I have to say that all were excellent and the service some of the best we have ever had. The duck salad I had for lunch was beautifully presented and was even more delicious than it looked. Everyone was friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and went out of there way to make the dinning experience perfect. I highly recommend you visit the restaurant if in Savannah and I would also highly recommend the hotel one of the best we have ever stayed in. Even if you don't stay checkout the art collection it's unbelievable."

"My party of 4 had a late breakfast. Celebrating my mother's 89th birthday. Ambiance was great, beautiful antique decor, with majestic pictures and dark wood furniture except on the porch where we preferred to sit. The porch is all windows and you can see the Mansion, next doo and the people walking. Everyone's breakfast was great except mine. I had the crab, shrimp etc omelette. It was puffy and appeared to be made from egg mix. The seafood was scant, as was the cheese in the middle (non on top). I would not recommend it. Otherwise, the waiter was very attentive and pleasant and they brought my mom a complimentary creme brulee with a candle. I will go again."

"Beautiful place. Could be romantic but was a birthday celebration so....! Our waitress was great, friendly and efficient. She helped with making recommendations on meal choices and we all (6 of us)enjoyed every bite. My son-in-law has not quit talking about the amazaing Filet Mignon he had! Two in our group had the flounder and enjoyed it. Two had the grouper (I was one) and it was amazing. The fish portions were modest but, plenty for me and my daughter. My husband had the seafood pasta and she crab soup and said it was very good. Wine list was nice. Cocktails were made perfectly. I would highly recommend 700 Drayton! Service may have been a tad slow but we were in no hurry! LOVED IT!!!"

"We dined at 700 Drayton for lunch, and it was our first time. We thoroughly enjoyed the Cajun Pasta and Burger. The pasta dish was delicious! The burger was perfectly prepared and flavorful on a bun that was fresh with good texture. We returned to dine at dinner enjoying the Barrel Cut Filet Mignon and Pecan Flounder Meuniere. The Filet was perfectly prepared and perfectly flavorful. The Flounder was tender and delicious. The decor is lovely. The service is friendly, helpful and attentive. Impressive dining experiences. Would highly recommend."

"This place is romantic and the wait staff are always super helpful and friendly. But this year the food was not as good as it was last year. I not saying the food was bad. It just wasn't the same great food we had a year ago. The portions were smaller which is not a bad thing, but the prices were not. Both my hubby and I noticed the difference. I couldn't put my finger on the change, but the food quality and superior taste is lost next to Vic's on the River."

"I have dined at 700 Drayton in the past for dinner and was very impressed. For Easter brunch, however, the menu was average and the service was horrible. It took two hours to get some eggs and I saw the waitress about 3 times throughout these two hours. A special occasion like Easter was not special at all at 700 Drayton- what a disappointment!"

"My family and I have dined here previously. The place is usually very pleasant. Unfortunately, our latest visit was not so great. The service was very slow, the food was just okay and quite frankly we were disappointed by the 89B health code rating(after all Burger King has a 99A). "We had a cozy table next to the fireplace. Wonderful food and service over the next 3 hours. Even a mistaken attempt to deliver us more food after we had eaten turned into a pleasant surprise when the manager heard that we wished the food brought to the table had been a creme brulee and then he brought us a creme brulee no charge. 700 Drayton has become one of our local favorites in Savannah."

"not much on the brunch menu, was expecting more. We had the Forsythe Benedict, poached eggs on bed of spinach, over rye bread, with super thin hollandaise. The bread was store bought and not much to talk of, the hollandaise sauce was super thin and nothing to write home about. The hashbrowns were good and crispy. Eggs were poached right. Best part of the meal was the cheese plate appetizer, honeycomb honey, 3 cheeses, two tiny biscuit bites, large cracker, olives, grapes, pickles. The cheeses were excellent."

"The food was terrible and nobody seemed concerned with cleaning off the tables after other customers left. My wedge salad was fine, and my boyfriend's she-crab soup was ok, but our entrees were terrible. I ordered scallops with grits and corn relish. My scallops were overcooked and rubbery, my grits were chalky and cold and the corn was obviously from a can and just dumped on the plate. I ate less than half of everything, but no one bothered to asked what was wrong. My boyfriend's steak was ordered medium rare, but was cooked so unevenly, parts of it were well done. Three other tables in our room left in the very beginning of our meal and no one cleaned them off the whole time we were there. $160 wasted. Don't go here."

"My wife and I enjoyed the Valentine's 4-course meal. We loved the cozy dining with beautiful artwork adorning the individual dining rooms. The food was very good as well as the service. We enjoyed going to the bar afterwards for the live Jazz music entertainment which we found delightful. We will definitely make this one of our must stops when we visit Savannah."

"I was very disappointed. I had heard great things about this place and was very excited to have a romantic Valentines dinner with my wife. I was impressed that they gave her a rose as we entered but the impressed part stopped there. They had a "special" valentines day menu...not really feeling what was on it so we asked for a regular menu...not tonight. Same for the wine list...had to order from the specially overpriced by the bottle only menu. I had the prime rib which was dry and overcooked my wife had the chicken dish that was just ok. The appetizers were good...hard to mess up shrimp cocktail and lobster mac n cheese. The salad was the best part of the meal with. We got dessert. ..hers good mine terrible...probably won't go back"

"Although the restaurant is in an historic mansion, the decor is still very art deco, and less bohemian than advertised, very cold feeling. We are used to eating in restaurants in this price range, but felt that the food was average, service was average, and price was very very high for the food we were served and the marginal service. We were there the day after Valentine's Day when they had a pre-fixed menu, yet the day after Valentine;s day the restaurant was still serving only the pre-fixed menu. Restaurant was very busy due to the book festival in town, but no excuse. We would not recommend this restaurant, nor would be go there again. There are much, much better restaurants in Savannah."

"The Lobster Mac and Cheese was the best thing put down on the table out of two 3 course meals. The other things were ok but not great, when you pay that much money for food you expect it to be cooked better than what you can do for yourself at home. I had the lamb which was cooked to the perfect temperature but was supposed to be mint and something lamb, it tasted like they salt and peppered it (which isn't a bad thing, just not what they advertised). The parsnip mashed potatoes that came with it were just plain nasty, they needed a generous helping of salt and pepper, they tasted like they came straight from the garden to a plate. There was no salt and pepper offered on the table. Service was good but not what you would expect from 700 D."

"We made breakfast reservations for Sunday Brunch at 11:30 am. When we arrived at 11:30 the hostess told us it would be 5 mins while she got our table ready. She than sat another couple and came back & stood at the hostess stand. After 10 mins of waiting I went up to her and reminded her that we had a reservation and that I never had to wait past 5 mins when I have made a reservation at any restaurant. Your table should be ready when we arrive. She told me she was sorry and that it would be another minute. She then punched in the register and printed the seating ticket. When we finally were seated 15 mins pass our reservation time I noticed that the restaurant had plenty of empty tables for two people so there was no need for us to wait. We"

"My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the evening of Super Bowl Sunday. We had an excellent waiter, Patrick, who guided us to the special "Restaurant Week" Dinner menu that included food and wining pairings at a very reasonable price. We had the She Crab Bisque and the Frisee Salad w/ Blood Oranges, the Chicken Breast Roulade Stuffed with prosciutto with an Orzo Cake and a luscious Boursin sauce. For dessert we had Flambeed Blackberries with vanilla bean ice cream and a slice of a rich chocolate genache cake. Patrick's service was professional and friendly and he helped to make it a most memorable evening. This was our 5th or 6th visit to 700 Drayton and the consistency of the food, wine and service will keep us coming back."

"I had to send a salad back for being completely wilted, and it took a while to get seated when we first arrived on time for the reservation. You have to request bread, as it is not automatically brought out with the soup or salad. Otherwise, food was delicious, especially main course and dessert."

"We went for restaurant week in part to get a good deal, but also to check it out without spending a wad. We were quite disappointed in the main course - the wreck-fish was bland (in a beurre balnc sauce) and somewhat chewy. The wine offering was $15 per person for 1/2glass pairedwith each of the 3 courses.The wines did pair well, but were not expensive wines, and we felt that for $15 they should have given a full glass with the main course, if not every course. The salad was just OK, the crab bisque and the desserts were quite good. I expect restaurants to put their best foot forward during special offerings in order to attract new customers. If this is 700 Drayton's best, we certainly don't want to pay more for it! We won't be back."
