"Big fish came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. Food was fantastic, service was incredible ( Paul and Chris were superb). Beer was ice cold and there was a great selection. Initially thought it was gonna be too casual but the food was better than some fine dining I've had recently. Highly recommend."

"This is one of our favorite spots when we come to California. The food is fresh and tasty, the service is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is always vibrant. The prices are quite reasonable. The ocean is in view, although not close. There is a good beer selection, and happy hour truly rocks."

"Big Fish and Ice Cold beer is a great change from all the foodie type restaurants along the Newport-Laguna Coast. Casual spot has tons of beer choices, in various sizes, including buckets of beers, pints, 22oz and even a 5 liter keg. The menu is large and has many options for everyone, the Poki is a great starter as is the Lobster Fondue. Will be back, it was tasty and affordable."

"Wow...I ordered the muscles on the waitresses recommendation, and they were better than expected. Also had the fish tacos and the wife had the pulled pork. All were excellent!!!"

"I was impressed with Big Fish because I expected it to be a big bar scene, sort of like a frat house. When I made the reservation I requested a table near a window (to get a view) and the staff not only delivered the table with a view but also put us in a corner where the restaurant is much quieter than the expansive main floor area. They had Sculpin on tap, which was a special treat."

"Fun atmoshphere and great beer selection. Fish was terrific too. I would highly recommend for families and night out for fun -- not a quiet place though. Good to watch sports too"

"Too noisy, uncomfortable seats, food looked good but overworked waitress took too long for us to order more appetizers. The buffalo sauce on the still-shelled shrimp was horrible. The other food being ordered by other tables looked good. I would not go back. It was more of a dive. Plus we did not get our happy hour discount - $1 off ALL BEERS. Service was terrible but we mercy tipped for the overworked waitress."

"Seated promptly - we were not acknowledged for close to ten minutes - I had to locate the hostess and ask her to find our server - that took another five + food was ok nothing special"

"We arrived early hoping to get 4 seats in the bar so we could take advantage of their happy hour prices. There was one empty table but no stools. They made a very week effort to find some stools but we ended up sitting in the main restaurant. The food was decent but nothing great. For their fish tacos they only offer Talapia which is a horrible fish in my opinion. They do offer a better fish for the burrito, go figure. In the end, we probably will not return."

"Often crowded and noisy, with somewhat slow service as a result, nonetheless this is a family-friendly place for good, fresh seafood at extremely reasonable prices, especially for Laguna Beach. The Spicy Seafood Chowder is a whole meal in itself, and at $13.95, it's one of the great seafood bargains in Orange County."
