Persepolis Is a Persian/ Mediterranean restaurant with a dynamic atmosphere and 20 years of experience! The restaurant is famous for verity of kebabs and refreshing salads and gently spiced grilled meats. The yogurt and cucumber blended with a little mint is made exceedingly well and is an ideal cool compliment to Persepolis’ rounds of Pita & Barbari bread. Our kebabs which include moist and delicious salmon or saffron chicken are served without heavy sauces. Instead they are served with a choice of four rices including an intriguing blend of Basmati rice and marinated sour cherries. Our personalized wine list truly compliments our cuisine. We also offer a full classic bar. We look forward to seeing you!
"This was our first visit to this Persian restaurant and we very much enjoyed our meal. The salad trio was delicious. We also enjoyed the eggplant appetizer trio but it was so filling that we felt like we had ordered too much appetizers. The main dishes we tried (the chicken stew and the white fish) were both flavorful and delicious. Best of all, our waiter was great. He had a smile on his face every time he served us, and he was attentive and courteous. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual. We'll definitely return."

"We were in NYC for a fun weekend and passed by Persepolis. Found it in Michelin and decided to try. What a treat! The service was excellent and the restaurant was all it was cracked up to be. The humus was to die for, don't pass up. A wonderful lentil soup and the Khoresht Fesenjan was one of the best dishes we have had in some time. All in all, a wonderful, and memorable experience. This restaurant will be on my list for Upper East Side places in the future."

"Food was fine, but very generically middle eastern. Was hoping for a more specific and uniquely Persian experience. Wine and beer options were terrible."

"What a great neighborhood find! Very nice space. The menu is varied, and the stews, kabobs, chicken and lamb dishes were all quite tasty. Starters of different eggplant and taboule were very good, and service was extremely friendly and helpful. You've got to try the dark cherry rice!"

"This place is all about the food. Best hummus and grape leaves ever. The rice and eggplant appetizers are scrumptious. I recommend the kebabs and stew for entrees. But you could make a dinner out of the excellent appetizers. Definitely a value for the tastiness of the food. Service not so gracious, but fine; no errors."

"Lovely grown up Persian place. Seems to be authentic, based on the crowd. Service charming but uneven. Food great. Try the chicken with pomegranate and walnut and the lamb kebab is not what you are expecting. Succulent thinly sliced lamb done to perfection, not on a skewer. Triple eggplant appetizer very nice too. Decent wine list."

"Food was delicious, and the lunch/early supper prix-fixe is the best bargain in town. $17 for 2 delicious courses. I have come back often and all my friends agree it is a great neighborhood find."

"Great food as always...Best cherry rice!... Warm Baclava on the house at the end of our meal! It is noisy and a little cramped, depending on your table but definitely worth it.."

"Never experienced Persian food before so didn't know what to expect, and Persepolis delivered a lovely experience that didn't feel forced in any way. Lunch mid-week did not appear to be very busy but it's not for lack of quality in food or service. The kebabs were great, as were the eggplant dips and rices. Wow, the rices!! Definitely a neighborhood gem that's worth revisiting. Will be back again soon."

"3rd trip to this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. I can recommend the trio of eggplants for appetizer, the pomegranate chicken stew or rack of lamb as an entree, and any dessert that includes the rose-infused ice cream. Of course, there are 3 types of persian rice, and you must try all three. This is one of my favorite NY "finds"."
