"Prime Rib sports all of the accouterments of a by-gone area, from the formal bartender, piano, and dark wood all around. Given the four-star prices, I was surprised at the thickness of the rib-eye I ordered--it was, at best, 3/4 inch. Texas Roadhouse serves a thicker steak! Overall, a fine place for a business dinner when you're on an expense account."

"If you're really into steak, Prime Rib is a must. That was the best cut of meat I've had in a while, much better than Morton's or other high end steak houses. Plus, way more variety in terms of cuts (prime rub, NY Strip, filet, etc). It didn't feel like they were phoning it in which is what you get some other steak places. Seriously, couldn't recommend it higher. Will definitely be back."

"We had reservations for the Kennedy-Center so we needed to dine early and choose to dine at Prime Rib. We arrived a little early , but the staff was very accommodating and seated us right away. "Everything you would like in a fine dining steakhouse! The server was not only extremely knowledgeable, but conducted himself with the utmost professionalism. I had the aged NY strip, mid-rare, with the mushrooms on the side. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavor of the steak melded perfectly with the meal. The steak was sold as one of their most flavorful and it did not disappoint. The individual next to me had the artichoke hearts and escargot, both of which I will be trying next time I am there. I hear they opened one up in Arundel Mills, so next time I'm trying my hand at blackjack or Texas hold'em, I'll make it a point to visit the Prime Rib."

"My wife and I went there for our 2 yr anniversary last weekend and at first everything was nice. prime rib was good, asparagas were not flavorful just ok.... I asked our waiter who the most famous person was he waited on was, he told us a couple of stories about some people he had waited on.... he then bagan to go into detail about two former fbi directors conversation about south park and lots of vulgar talk and obscenites. i got the manager James MacLeod to help us out for the remainder of our dinner. the waiter just ruined our expierence and killed the moment by talking the way he was in a place like this. For the money not worth it I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!"

"I love the large cut prime rib, and my GF loves the crab cakes -- far superior to crab cakes elsewhere, and at a very fair price. Service this time was barely average -- usually it is excellent. But the food was superb, so we were very satisfied. We shall return... again and again and again, so long as the food quality remains this high."

"The atmosphere was very nice; the restaurant had a very old money feel to it. The music and the service were excellent. We had the lobster bisque for an appetizer. It was absolutely delicious. I had the filet mignon cooked medium, oscar style. It was perfect and melted in my mouth. My husband had the lobster santiago style; another phenomenal dish , although he added he liked my filet more. Plan to spend money here. We had a bottle of wine with our dinner and the final tab was $221.65. Excellent choice for a special occasion."

"I took my wife to The Prime Rib for her birthday. I expected the experience to be good, based upon reviews, but they far exceeded my expectations. The wait staff, Maitre d' and everyone we encountered were exceptional. The food was the best I have had anywhere. We have traveled all over the country and eaten at some fine establishments. This is without question, the best steak and prime rib restaurant I have ever encountered.

We tried Ruth Chris and I have always liked Morton's but Prime Rib has always been our "go to" for a special meal. Now I suspect we'll have to try seafood over steak for that.
Not terrible, not even really bad; just not up to par especially for the price. I never mind paying more for a fabulous meal it as long as I don't have buyers remorse for desert."

"I am a restaurant employee and I have to say, The Prime Rib went to town.
I had made the reservation a few months in advance for our anniversary and my husbands birthday.
We had arrived a few minutes early but they sat us right away. (It was a Wednesday eve)
Our table was a sweetheart table right in front of the piano player!! It was incredible.
Our server was attentive and delightful. He gave us space and was always there when a drink needed refreshing.
We aren't dessert people, but after we declined he brought us out a pecan pie a'la mode.
The owner ended up buying us our last round of cocktails too!!
It was a delightful birthday/anniversary evening.

"2nd visit to this restaurant and a great chance to "dress up" for dinner ! My wife and I were observing our anniversary. We were greeted by name and our table was ready early in the main piano room. Piano bar will take requests and we tipped the player. Arnold Palmer drink was great ! We had salmon filet, steak filet and split a lobster, and all was prepared to taste. Appearance was perfect and service was exact and on-time with appropriate pauses. Conversation with our server was cordial , informative but not intrusive. Good balance overall and a very nice evening of food, relaxation and quiet conversation with good background music."

"This was my first time to The Prime Rib. It was simply exceptional. From the initial welcome to the service to the spectacular food, it was one of the best meals you will ever have. My Prime Rib was perfect. My wife's Filet Mignon was spectacular. We also had their Potato Skins which were the best we have ever had. Still talking about that side dish. They have a piano player and we were treated to some singing by the maitre d who is clearly a trained singer. He sang some Broadway songs and was outstanding."

"Went to The Prime Rib to celebrate a special occassion with my girfriend. This is a very nice, very expensive restaurant but our experience there was not the best. First it took 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge that we were seated at our table. Then when the waiter showed up (he was very nice) he wants to take our drink order without first offering us a drink menu or a wine list. Once we got the menus we were on our way. We both ordered the Prime Rib and it was spectacular! The rest of our food was also very good. But the worst part of the experience is how close you're seated next to your neighbor. They might as well of shoved the tables together since we were hearing each other's conversations."

"This restaurant used to be very good. this last visit was horrible. the signature prime rib was dry, had to be returned, not much better. people next to us had to return their rack of lamb- coming there for 30+ years. Very very disappointed - will not return. better to go to the Palm or Ruth Chris any day."

"Hmmm.... How can I say all that needs to be said. I was quite excited to visit this restaurant. Went here for my fiancees birthday and I must say I couldn't ask for anything more. our waitor Harvey was a sweet heart who made sure all our needs were meet and that everything was up to part. my fiancee had the chopped steak w/ sauteed spinach n steak fries. "As has been the case with every dining experience at The Prime Rib, the food and presentation were excellent, and the service outstanding (but never did it interfere with our conversation). My request beforehand to be seated in a quiet secion of the restaurant was accommodated (there could not have been a better seating choice). As it was my wife's birthday, she received a surprise rendition of "Happy Birthday", sung to her in Italian by a member of the staff. His Baritone voice was excellent, and it was most thoughtful of him to do this. The restaurant's requirement that gentlemen wear jackets after 5:00 p.m. adds to the exclusiveness of the experience, as does the restauarant's staff all wearing tuxedos or jackets."

"I really enjoyed myself at the Prime Rib. The Ambiance is classy and warm, while I found the entire staff including the Valet's who are responsible for parking the guests vehicles friendly and professional. My companion and I enjoyed two different steaks with blackened shrimp on top, the Prime Rib and the Dry Aged Prime NY Strip. Both were tender, juicy or should I just say cooked to perfection.
The appetizers were simply delicious and notably the sauce for both the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, and the Oysters on a half shell. I will definitely visit this establishment again and provide a recommendation to everyone who enjoys delicious food and consummate customer pampering for a comparably fair price.

"As advertised, The Prime Rib did not disappoint. The surrounds were classic and elegant in appearance and the atmosphere was enhanced by the pianoist melodic soft jazz and contempomary melodies. The food was stellar from the signature potato skin appetizer with three fab sauces, to the succulent New York strip with the to die for accompanying sauce to the decadent cheesecake. Definitely on my revisit list for my next trip to DC."
