Located in historic Cherry Valley, The Grand Oak Steakhouse & Bar has been a Southern California destination for over a hundred years. The Grand Oak sits on 900 scenic acres at Highland Springs Resort, Riverside County’s first historical landmark. Surrounded by 20 acres of organic farmland, evenings in the summertime offer magnificent sunsets over fields of purple lavender.
The property was originally established in 1884, and had served for a time as a stage coach stop along the Bradshaw Trail. Through the 1930s and 1940s it was a popular vacation spot, particularly for Hollywood actors and actresses. The interior of the restaurant proudly emphasizes the heritage of the resort’s past, some of the antiques decorating the dining room have been present for close to a century.
Chef Stefan Weck has perfected his culinary craft in numerous Michelin-starred restaurants throughout Europe. Originally from Germany, Chef Stefan has developed a refreshingly unique menu.
"The food was tasteless. I had the rib-eye. Very thin cut for a restaurant of this type. There should be salt and pepper on the tables so asking for them will not offend anyone. Our waitress was not very attentive and lacked personality."

"The total dining experience is always fabulous at the Grand Oak. This time the main course was a bit salty. This is a restaurant my wife and I look forward to re-visiting."

"Among other items, had roasted sea bream and stinging nettle ravioli this time. Superb. As usual, very polite and attentive service by all staff members."

"Nice outdoor view with truly beautiful sunset overlooking fields of flowers. Our group ordered 50% vegetarian fare and 50% filet mignon- (cooked perfectly and very tender.) A banquet was in process which was noisey as was the bar with a singer that forged new definitions of cacophony. I am told usually much more quiet and less crowded. Overall a good experience- good food and ambience except for noise level.
I will definitely go there again."

"Lunch service was in the bar, not the dining room. The menu was limited, I'd have appreciated the option of some "Knife and fork" entrees. Product was good, portions were small. Beef sandwich with olive and peppers, seemed to not have the olives and peppers. Probably will not return for lunch."

"Party of 4 ordered filet steak (w/coupon)which included appetizer and dessert. Food and service was wonderful. When we received our check it was $90.00, (should have been under $50.000) we asked our server about it and he informed us that the steak is not included with the coupon. We would have ordered something else in these hard financial times if we had know. I fault the server for not informiung us which I'm sure he was well aware of at the time we ordered.
Please let me know your opion. We are regulard customers."

"As always, a fantastic dinner combined with a fabulous wine selection, superb dinner entree choices made to perfection along with the kind of service the way it use to be. This is the best kept secret in the Banning/Beaumont/Cherry Valley area. Don't tell anyone. Let's keep it that way!"
