"Great atmosphere, scenic view, live piano accompaniment while you dine. Soup was excellent but it's not included with the price of the meal? Steaks were very fatty. Potatoes were tasty but portions of vegetables was very small. I left hungry! That's for $34.00 bucks a plate!! Would not recommend this restaurant to friends."

"As a special treat we invited two of our friends to one of our favorite restaurants. Even though the weather precluded dining outside we were not disappointed in the view as we were seated with a very clear view of the scenic Sandy River. Our server was knowledgable and attentive and the salmon was prepared very nicely. It was a leisurely and pleasant time and we would definitely return."

"This was our first time dining here and we went with another couple as a last minute date. When we arrived, they were ready with al the requests from our reservation. The experience was perfectly wonderful, relaxing and a great spot to enjoy an evening with friends. The food was excellent and well priced, the service exceptional, and the atmosphere lovely. We will certainly be back with family and friends."

"We ate on the patio overlooking the river. The location couldn't be more beautiful and the service was impeccable. The Miso Salmon was very good as was the New York steak. My daughter had the ribeye steak. She ordered medium rare and got medium well. Her verdict was that it was more Outback quality than what the price should have warranted. My grandson loved his cheesecake dessert but the salted caramel torte my daughter and I had was, unfortunately, food service grade. The salted caramel was good, but the chocolate cake was dry and flavorless. The prices at this restaurant are on the high side, so they should take care that the food is worth it. We will definitely go back and hope the chef was just off that night."

"The location is nice & service was great but that's just about it. Food is so-so... I ordered the NZ Lamp chops and what I got was slices of lamb & uncooked risotto. We came there to celebrate my hubby's birthday. Food was not memorable."

"First time coming here. The food was EXCELLENT. The server was very friendly. Laid back atmosphere. We had a couple of cocktails, and they were made perfectly! You knew they were adult beverages, but the alcohol wasn't overpowering. Had the Caprese Salad, Ahi Tuna, Seafood Tower and Carrot Cake. All were to die for. Sitting out on the patio was perfect. Could hear the piano from inside, but with a wonderful view. We'll definitely be back."

"I made reservation at 6:30. We were seated at 7:00. Our food arrived at 7:50. I ordered my entree with request of extra veggies instead of rice plus it came with veggies as a side. I got less than half a cup of veggies and my food was cold. This is the second time we came for dinner, but unfortunately the last time."

"The place itself is nice, but the food was just okay and the drinks were half full. Asked for well done Lamb, received it med. and with risotto, but would love it with mashed potatoes. Seafood Tower suppose to have cod, but didn't see it. The price did not match the expectation."

"The restaurant is right along the river, hence its name. Unfortunately, we went on a rainy day. Nice seating area on an outside deck overlooking the river and surrounded by trees all around for a secluded feel. Big ceiling-to-floor windows to enjoy the view. Live music by a guitarist provided nice instrumental dinner music to set the mood. Our waiter was attentive and had a sense of humor. The food was simply delicious. My fiance and I were celebrating our 3 year anniversary and this was the perfect place. Will definitely come back for more special occasions, or when we want a fancy dinner away from everything."

"a Living Social offer I might have never found this wonderful restaurant. I am so glad I did. Not only did I go on Saturday, but I was back on Sunday. The design of the restaurant is wonderful: floor to ceiling windows that look out onto a deck and onto the Sandy river, beautiful light fixtures, the tableware is elegant in its simplicity, the servers all look spiffy The landscaping is beautiful. Full grown and very tall trees in all their glory and then garden areas. Wonderful menu, the food was delicious and was a sight to behold!"

"The restaurant has an amazing view. Well worth the drive. Service was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. My husband ordered the rib eye and surprised to see the steak was only 1/2" thick. Not only that, but it was overcooked. Ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well - well. I ordered the seafood tower, the sauce had good flavor, but there was barely any on the plate. As it was, it was dry and just tasted like panko bread crumbs. Will certainly try again and give them another chance as maybe it was just an "off" night in the kitchen. The restaurant itself is very beautiful, a great place for a nice romantice meal.... Just too bad the food didn't match the atmosphere."

"in late May, love Oregon. Sat by the windows and watched the trees whip around and the rain pelt down. Great food, excellent service and a talented pianist in the background. A evening made very nice despite the outside climes. I had the special of the night, a gumbo and it was delicious. Salad was fresh and attractive with an ample serving of dressing."

"We went to the Riverview Inn for my birthday dinner. Had not been there before.............what a fantastic place! Since the weather was mild we sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed the view overlooking the Sandy River. The New York Steak was very delicious but my favorite was the spinach salad. My husband had clam chowder and said it was the best he has had. We'll definitely be back!"

"Last night we went to The Riverview Restaurant for my birthday dinner. Three different servers came to our table to give us the specials and take our order. It appeared that no one knew who had been assigned to our table and it was a bit chaotic. Drinks were fine. I ordered a bacon wrapped filet mignon, medium rare, and it arrived well done. I have never returned a steak to the kitchen in my life, and I did last night. I was left nibbling on green beans and mashed potatoes until my steak arrived. The rest of my food meanwhile turned cold. No bread was served and when my steak finally arrived, at first glance it appeared to be fine, but as I cut into it, it was more raw than medium rare. Very disappointing experience."

"Took my fiancee here for a nice date night. It was absolutely amazing. The food was spectacular (best cup of clam chowder i've ever had). Our waitress was extremely nice and helpful. Luckily, it was sunny and warm so we sat outside. The view in the forest is a perfect backdrop for a wonderful dinner. We will definitely be back."

"This was our first visit to the Riverview. While we were quickly seated at our table (we had reservations), we experienced what I consider longer than customary waits for our server as well as our food. After the food arrived, we found out they had made a mistake on our daughter's order (the wrong dish) and had to go back and make the dish from scratch. The rest of us were well into our meals before her meal finally arrived. As it was a relatively simple dish, I'm disappointed at how long it took to get a replacement out to us. The restaurant was busy, but not overly so in my opinion, so it seems only reasonable to put a mistaken order to the front of the queue and get it out as soon as possible. The food was pretty good, but not great."

"What a wonderful evening. Great service, incredible meals (bacon wrapper filet and the seafood tower). Beautiful setting...scenic view. Loved the live piano music playing in the background. Candle lit tables...linen table cloths...wait staff dressed in black...very nice. Did I mention the fresher baked mini loaves of bread and honey butter? Yummy!"

"We love going to Riverview for fine dining and a great environment. Our server, who's name is Tuesday, was one of the most friendly servers we've ever had anywhere! She was super busy, so it took quite a while to get attention to place our drink & food orders, and the drinks and food took a very long time to get to us. However, her friendliness went a long way in making up for it. It seems they were short staffed for the amount of customers they had. Perhaps adding a little extra help could have moved things along a little more timely. As a side note, when a gin & tonic was ordered, we noticed on the bill that we were charged extra for a premium gin.....even though we only ordered a basic "gin & tonic", so beware of this upcharge!"

"The server, Tuesday, was excellent. The staff was friendly and the view was great. I had the Salmon Spread appetizer, which was delicious. I also had the greek salad and the Sesame Ahi, and it was just ok. I would recommend this restaurant, although I might not recommend the Ahi dish. My dining partner loved his meal."

"Food was served warm but could have been warmer. Service was OK but the waiter forgot to bring us another glass of wine and after paying our bill we found out they charged us for the wine. This was brought to the waiter's attention after payment of bill and he gave us a gift certificate slightly more than the amount of the glass of wine. Still shouldn't have happened."

"Used a Groupon. The ambiance is quite nice with great scenery and beautiful grounds. Live piano music was an added treat. Excellent patio/deck for those summer evenings. Very nice menu and wine list. This is really a hidden gem.
We were a party of 2 and had an appetizer, salad, 2 entrees and a couple glasses of wine and beer. The tab came to $86.00 before the Groupon. We felt like it was a good value. The staff are very nice and professional. Get out of the city and give them a chance."

"The Riverside restaurant offers many tables with scenic viewing of the Sandy river. Often with live piano, our latest experience included a bass fiddle accompaniment. Their wine selection is superb, and menu contains several unique and gourmet selections. The atmosphere is very inviting / romantic. There are several outdoor tables, which are used during the summer months. Wood fire pits add to the atmosphere. The restaurant has a large parking area, and beautiful flower gardens, of which you can tour. There is a room, adjacent to the larger dining room, where private parties can be accommodated."
