"Wast there for Mother's Day Brunch. First of all, when we arrived, a sign on the door to the restaurant stated that brunch was being served in the Pacific Event Center. That was a disappointment to us as we both wanted the ambiance of the restaurant, not a large hotel banquet hall. Upon entering the foyer for the event center, we were met with a large, confused line. Some people had their service checks in their hands and were waiting to pay, while others were standing around looking confused. Not one employee greeted us or made us feel welcome, or for that matter, explained where we should go to check in. Finally, we were seated and our server was very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, but would not go back for this event."

"We were extremely disappointed upon arriving at Pacific Grill for Mother's Day brunch to learn that the brunch was held in the Pacific Grill Events Center, not the Pacific Grill itself. We had been looking forward to the nice ambience at the Pacific Grill and were not at all happy to find ourselves in the business-like Events Center. Additionally, I found the brunch to be extremely over-priced for the quality and variety of food, and was astonished that the $120 bill I paid for three people did not even include drip coffee or juice. I will not be returning to Pacific Grill again for any kind of special event. I would rather spend that kind of money elsewhere."

"My friend and I have lunch monthly. We now lunch ONLY at Pacific Grill. The food is always 5 star, menu changes often and staff is so friendly. Mysti, our waitress each time, is beyond friendly and doesn't bother us, just walks by to see if we stop her.
The ambiance is fantastic, iced tea glasses always filled and we always come away without a doubt we'll be back."

"Excellent steaks, side dishes and salads. Nice atmosphere, contemporary yet warm. Cool lighting and an interesting arc shaped bar. Elevated booths let you take in the whole scene. Not a lot of privacy if that's what you're looking for, but a really nice feel to the place. Had a great filet mignon with a delicious potato-gruyere gratin. Deserts are good too, and a nice wine list. Pleasant, attentive wait staff."

"The waiter constantly started with the men at our table. We may be young but this totally threw us for a lop and did not sit well with us. It also confused the staff that delivered our dinner. The corking fee was excessive for a Tacoma restaurant. Our food was very good."

"We enjoyed a casual Easter brunch. The service was excellent - the bartender was friendly, fun and mixed a good drink. Two of us at the table had the Steelhead Trout which was tender and moist and the shrimp and grits were to die for!

"Went there for the first time for a plated Easter brunch. Creative menu, and food execution was fine. Flavor was not particularly memorable. Ambiance not suited for brunch--interior of restaurant is darker and we were seated at a small table crammed against a curved interior wall that blocked any view. Server was attentive and tried hard but his flapping tie kept brushing up against us when trying to remove dishes from the wall side--just too tight a space for proper movement of service. Felt a little cramped. Will not return for a daytime meal, but might be OK for evening drinks & apps."

"We had dinner "pre-concert" so the joint was jumping at 6pm-- I understand there is a great Happy Hour here too... We enjoyed our food and service but it was a little noisy. We will come again and check out the great happy hour- Also parking can be a challenge in DT Tacoma- we parked at the Freighthouse and took the Tacoma LINK light rail down to the Convention Center stop and walked the half block to Pacific Grill- very convenient."

"We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Pacific Grill. They had an extensive wine list (1/2 off bottles on Tuesdays which was nice) and the waiter was knowledgeable about both the wine and the food. Service was excellent from start to finish. We were also given a handwritten card thanking us for choosing their restaurant for our anniversary which included a special offer for our next visit. Definitely would recommend this restaurant."

"The service at Pacific Grill was stellar, as was the food. We were a party of four adults, and three of us ordered the steelhead salmon, and it prepared perfectly! We enjoyed the dining room's upscale ambience, very well apointed with elegant, contemprary interior design, and a layout that easily accomodates anyone's special requests for seating. We were meeting with family from out of state, and were very pleased to be seated at a quiet area so we could catch up on family news without interruptive noise elsewhere. We all agreed this was a great dining experience!"

"My wife and I were looking for a special restaurant for our anniversary and tried Pacific Grill. We had reservations on Saturday night and were surprised, after arriving, when we were placed in a booth for 8 with just the two of us. We were right by the front door where the cold air was readily apparent and, although our waiter was pleasant and helpful, we were obviously a table placed in an "off the beat"location. The pork tenderloin and filet were both very nice but the ambience was non-existant. We asked 3 times for the promised voucher for the parking garages and finally gave up on the waiter and asked at the front desk on the way out. Unfortunately, the parking voucher didn't work, so we ended up paying for parking anyway."

"My compliments to the chef for the night. I ordered the new york steak medium to well and it came out beautifully. The steak was juicy and tender and was just the right amount of pink. The rest of the meal complimented the overall meal and if i was not in public i would have licked my plate clean. I also feel that the dessert menu was small but delicious despite the fact."

"The food is always excellent. Our one concern (and surprise, given what other good restaurants in Seattle and Tacoma offer for veg or primarily veg customers) that there are so few options for vegetarians. Even salads apparently can rarely be adapted for vegetarians. "We can always make a vegetarian pasta" is kind of where restaurants were 10 or 15 years ago. So we would love to see you add a few dishes, or tweak some of your already excellent dishes, for non-meat eaters."

"Excellent food and wine. We found parking to be somewhat of a problem. Valet parking at lunch would have helped. The menu provided many great choices for every individuals liking. It was a birthday party and.they gave a nice card to the birthday gal and brought her a nice dessert complete with a candle to blow out."

"My kids go to school in Tacoma so I am somewhat familiar with the area. I was looking for a nice place to take 4 adults and decided on this restaurant based on feedback from my husband and son. We were not disappointed. The ambiance is very relaxing and lends itself to staying longer than I normally would.
The food was amazing and the service informative and timely without being obtrusive.
The wine list has something for everyone and the desserts range from refreshing to extremely rich but all were great.
I would highly recommend Pacific Grill if you are in the area."

"Food was cooked perfectly, service was excellent and setting was interesting (in a good way.) A former bank with the brick walls exposed and the area that was the vault used as a wine seller. If you're lactose intolerant the menu is a challenge; the chef chucks cheese into just about everything."

"It was a special occasion to celebrate a very dear friend's birthday. We were all a bit late in arriving due to traffic issues. Our reserved table was still waiting for us and even graciously moved further back in the room per our request. The food, the wine and the service were nothing less than spectacular. We will definitely be back!"

"We would probably not have chosen to dine at a restaurant as elegant as this (Shari's is our typical fare), but a friend gave us two $50 gift cards, so how could we not? The high ceiling, brick walls and artful lighting give the place a wonderful ambiance. I had minestrone soup and a spicy shrimp pasta dish. Both were delicious. We don't drink, so I can't comment on the wine service. Our tab came to $76 before gratuity. From our point of view, it is a great place for a wedding anniversary, but not something we could afford on a regular basis."
