"We tried LLoyd's because of it's proximity to the Lyric Opera. Our reservation was for 5:30, but the opera was over around 4:30. We were seated before our reservation. The service was fabulous. Our party of four sampled the filet medallions, tilapia, spareribs , and the entree fish salad. All of the entrees were delicious . I would recommend this restaurant to others and will return. What more could you ask for."

"The meal I had was pretty good. (I will admit that a bacon cheeseburger wasn't the most adventurous thing to order.) My complaint had to do with dessert. I ordered a hot fudge sundae and it was halfway to soup consistency when it was brought to me, so it must have been standing around for awhile before I actually got it."

"Lloyds is right across the street from the Lyric Opera House -- and they're prepared for the onslaught after/before a performance. Definitely on performance days you would need a reservation. They are very efficient at handling patrons and there isn't a lot of "waiting around" for a table. They had a decent wine list and the menu is diverse enough for everyone. We both had seafood -- the tuna and the crab cakes and they were quite good. They weren't outstanding because they could have been seasoned better, but the dishes weren't bad, just a little dull. The service was great, the atmosphere is very pleasant and I would defintiely go there again. It can't be beat if you're heading to the Lyric."

"This was our first time dining at Lloyd's. We chose Lloyd's, based on it's proximity to the Lyric Opera, and it's parking offer. The garage was difficult to locate, but now that we know how to find it, we will continue to use it! The food, and wine at Lloyd's was just great! Our server, Kurt, was exceptional. I had the skirt steak salad, and a delicious glass of Fire Road sauvignon blanc, both Kurt's recommendations, and my daughter had the burger. The restaurant was vibrant, the service excellent, and the food, great--that coupled with the $7.50 parking, makes this a must go place when attending the Lyric!"

"Hostess was a little rude seating a party before us. Claiming she didn't see me--standing literally two feet in front of her. After I complained she sat us at a table off to the side by the servers prep stand. Not a great table for people with reservations. But our waiter was very nice and accommodating us by supplying a light to see the menu better. Food was terrific!!!! . Being timely for our opera house showtime across the street was very very good. I would go again!"

"Menu is gold old-fashioned food updatedly flavored and presented.
We always dine at Lloyds before Lyric and ALWAYS (can't help ourselves) order the delicious mac & cheese. One in our party ordered salmon this time and it was yummylicious as well. Hummus quite nice, too. The New Zealand sauvignon was quite nice. We'll be back!"

"I had read many reviews of Lloyds before going, which were very mixed. So, I wanted to go and decide for myself. The service was good, the food was good and I would definetly recommend Lloyds. But people made it sound like it was really a fancy place and you should dress up. Not true. The menus were paper, the tables had paper on them, so not your standard fancy restaurant. Although, it was simple and clean and certainly not overdone on the decor. It's a nice place with good food, to put it in a nutshell. The prices, very good for the quality of the food. I'll go again for sure."

"Glad to say things were back to standard from our prior week's visit. My friend had the filet mignon medalions which were excellent and I had the Lloyd's burger, also cooked properly and the bun holds together. Service was quick and attentive. We had no trouble getting to the 6:30 PM lecture before the opera having started dining at 5:30 PM. Lloyd's remains our favorite per opera dining, as the food is very good and the service quick and polite. We recommend it."

"Poor service rating due to slow service. Our waitperson was put on a big group after greeting us at our table near the bar(#31). The big group was in the far back room and she simply forgot about us. We waited and waited for everything. I had to ask bus servers for help. It wasn't until we were visibly upset that she tried to attend to us. By then there was no need for anything until the end when we needed our check. Again we waited for that to be resolved. Not really her fault because management made bad decision to place her in both places, but she really seemed put off when I complained to her. Then at end she came by a few times knowing we were finished. I felt it was in a mockingly way because we dared to say something to her."

"The food was very good, our group was very satisfied with everything we ordered. I would highly recommend the chicken and waffles appetizer. The only drawback was that we were eating here before going to a Bulls game, and I felt we were slightly disregarded since we were not dressed up to go to the opera. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone as long as you're dressed to fit in!"

"We often dine here before attending the opera and find it very satisfying, but I must admit this particular visit was not up to the usual standards. Two of the three of us had the macaroni cheese grilled chicken plate and both of us wondered where the cheese was. The third actually shared some of this and had a bowl of their clam chowder, which was also not as good as usual. The sauce on the macroni was more like a mushroom than a cheese sauce. The chicken was fine, nicely breaded and cooked. Service also was a bit less attentive than usual. Either it was a somewhat off day for them or we are being more critical than usual. We will return and trust the next visit will be up to their usual standards."

"Do not even try to go to this restaurant during lunch without a reservation. It is a popular place for business lunches. Service is snappy, but you don't feel rushed. The food is good quality -- I especially like the pulled pork sandwich. When I go with a friend we'll normally split a dessert and I would recommend the flourless chocolate cake. I usually spend about $22-25 on lunch when I come here and that includes a beverage."

"The best part of our dinner was the outstanding service by one waiter for several tables. He made certain everything was served promptly and paid attention to small details. He made it a point not to rush us yet to be certain we made it to the opera in time.
We had asked for a quiet table, and there was a not very attractive room in the rear where it was much more quiet than the energetic bar and restaurant scene out front. The food was very good and in adequate portions, but not very inventive."
