"As usual, a wonderful lunch. The menu at Linda Modern Thai is always creative and well above and beyond that of the average Thai restaurant. Our server was fantastic and extremely helpful answering our questions regarding the various menu items. Ordered from the Prix Fixe menu on this occasion. Loved the Curry Pork "Samosas", and dessert of tropical ice cream (mango and lychee) paired with the fried banana was delicious (made a great combo). We always enjoy our visits to Linda Modern Thai. Highly recommended."

"Linda's was a wonderful tasty dining experience.
Every food dish and tea is an exotic experience to my taste pallet, making dining a very pleasurable sensory experience.
The staff were helpful, quick and friendly, always with big smiles.

We were behind the curtain close to the front which made me feel a little isolated, I couldnt enjoy the wonderful decor in the restaurant, however we had a nice few of the street. It was a little tight for my dad who was using his walker and has difficulty getting in and out of chairs.
It was my third time their, I recommend you to all my friends."

"I took my mother to Linda's for Mothers' Day lunch and we were both very happy with our experience. The food was amazing and the service was very quick and good. The ambiance is great, modern but with traditional designs and pieces. They even gave my Mom a rose, which was really sweet. It was also nice to be able to take a walk around the shops after eating so much good food!"

"The food and the service were outstanding. Linda and her husband spent time with us and made us feel very welcome. The people who prepared our food did a great job - it was both well prepared and presented. The young people who serve the food were efficient and friendly. We come this Linda's about three times a year, or so, and every time that we go we enjoy the whole experience. The food is reasonably priced and the location is very convenient."

"so-so Thai food - for a slightly higher cost (vs similar fare at other Thai restaurants) Very difficult to find good or even decent Thai food in Toronto (I have really tried) - Not impressed with Khao San Road - rated very high on Yelp. Sasi Thai was excellent - closed now. Sasi moved to Mengrai - initially very happy to eat there - but unfortunately last few visits there have been disappointing"

"...and she comes around to each table, like the wonderful host she and her staff are. You can get the "favourites" that other places offer, but why would you, when there are so many other wonderful dishes. Have dined there several times (lunches and dinners) and everything tastes awesome!"

"The owner was very lovely! She gave me a hand carved soap in the shape of a rose as a bday gift. Very thoughtful! The food was great! Slightly over priced for thai food but worth it for the ambiance and the service. Would definitely go again!! Thank you!"

"I went there with my family to celebrate my mother's birthday. We ordered:
1) mango shrimp : I found the sauce was too sweet. I felt like I was eating mango sauce from a dessert.
2) pad thui: the presentation was real nice, the noodles were wrapped in an egg omelette. It was tasty but I find the dish at salad king taste better.
3) coconut fried rice: again, the presentation was pretty. The rice was served in a coconut. Again, i found the dish to be a bit sweet and it tasted the same as my pad Thai.
4) chicken Penang: excellent dish.

"I love the decor of the restaurant, with beautiful screens between tables and one round table set off on its own. Food was very good. The restaurant has a Prix Fix menu, good price, generous servings, Very pleasant, yet unobtrusive service. Shops at Don Mills is a secret gem in Toronto as the weather gets better. Shop and then eat!"

"We have been going to Linda's since they opened on the second floor over Salad King on Gould Street downtowm. Linda was always there as well and it is wonderful to see that she still visits tables at Linda Modern up in Don Mills. Excellent food, best Beef Panang and Islamic Noodles anywhere and portions are small enough that you can order a few dishes to get a good variety of flavours."

"Food was really good and the place was nice. However the service was terrible. Even though it was valentines day the place was not that busy so why did my main take an hour to get to me. That part was annoying but I can live with it. The thing I was most upset about was asking for anytuing was a challenge. So many servers but unattentive plus it took them 10 minutes to get my bill and another 20 minutes just for them to take my mon. I had to make a scene inorder for someone to notice that I wanted to pay. Very disappointed"

"The food was quite nice. Different from your regular Thai. Nice variety. I'm not sure if it was just because it was Winterlicious, but the portions I found were really small. I left there still feeling hungry even after having 3 courses. Great atmosphere. Designed verrrry nicely inside. Staff were FABULOUS! Linda (owner) walks around to each table to chat to all guests. Her and her husband (Earnest) were extremely warm, kind and accommodating! I didn't like a part of my meal and she (Linda) made sure that I left there happy. They created a really positive and enjoyable experience."

"As a downtown Toronto resident and huge fan of Salad King, I was more than happy to make the trek uptown for the ambiance of Linda. Linda came by to say hello and was kind as usual. The Green Curry Chicken was great and the mango ice cream was delicious! I will come back again for sure."

"After a terrible Winterlicious meal at another supposedly high end restaurant the night before I was a little nervous that I and my friends might be disappointed again but no, Linda Modern Thai was excellent in every way. From the service, to the ambience, to the food, all was just great. Linda herself came to our table at the end of our meal and asked how everything had been and she seemed genuinely concerned to make sure that we had enjoyed eating in her restaurant. She also went to every other table in the restaurant - a nice touch. I will definitely be returning."

"I came here for Winterlicious with a friend. The decor of the restaurant was warm and welcoming; definitely a good idea for a date at an exotic restaurant. We were seated at a two people table that had hollow panels on both sides; quite necessary since the table was actually quite close to the neighboring tables. Dishes that were good included the lemongrass chicken skewer and the green curry chicken. I personally would avoid the steamed seafood custard (weird texture) and the vegetarian tom yum soup (being Chinese I've had a lot of soup, this was unimpressive). Nothing to complain about for the service."

"Great winterlicious menu! Food was excellent. The only disappointment was the mango salad- presentation was beautiful, the server recommended it, and everyone seemed to be ordering It but it was tasteless. Otherwise, great food and experience. Would go back again!"

"I came here with my best friend for a pre-birthday dinner and I have to say it was great! We went for winterlicious so the menu was limited, but what I had ordered was really good. I ordered the poached duck with chinese red wine sauce and I have to say the duck was perfect. I was a little skeptical of what to order and first because I've never had anything else but Thai curry before and was going to choose that, but I am glad I chose the duck because it was way better than I had anticipated it to be."

"Once again, we enjoyed the Winterlicious menu. Service was attentive and the pacing relaxed, even on a busy Saturday evening. Flavours ranged from subtle to intense, but always interesting. Of particular note was the presentation of the poached duck breast; enhanced by a lacey, crunchy flower confection which was also delicious. The tropical ice creams are always a good choice for dessert."

"Our party of 6 had a very disappointing winterlicious experience at Linda. Though we had a 7:45 reservation, we were not seated until 8:30, a problem as we had two pregnant women in our group. Finally we got a good table but the service from that point was a joke. Very poor. Drinks weren't ordered until after the food arrived. The food was slow and disappointing, particularly the Tom yum soup which was a lukewarm watery mess. Overall a very lackluster experience. We will not go to this overhyped restaurant ever again."

"Fabulous Coconut Iceberg Martini's, yummy! Food was very good, nice portion sizes. We were treated well and got a nice little birthday gift for the birthday girl. Nice winterlicious menu and pricing for 4 courses. Pumpkin soup was good though did not have a "Thai" taste at all. Overall great experience and would return."

"This was my second visit, this time during Winterlude. The restaurant was extremely busy, but we never felt rushed. The food was excellent. Although the restaurant is large, there is great screening between the tables, so it feels very private.
In both of my visits, Linda has come to speak to us as we were getting ready to leave and was genuinely interested on hearing about our experience. This was particularly impressive this time considering it was so busy, being Winterlude. I will be back again!"

"I went with my family (5 people). We made a reservation for 8:30. We had to wait 45 minutes to get seated...

"This is my second time visiting Linda's, and will be my last. I arrived on time, however my friend ran late. As soon as she arrived, the waitress tried to take our order, which my friend did not even look at the menu yet. While dining, the waitress would converse with other diners, however she never checked in on our table once, other than to whisk away plates the moment our food was done- we felt rushed the whole time and the place wasn't busy! The waitress took away our dessert plates and promptly brought our bill, which we found rude since we wanted to talk for a few minutes. We did not leave a 15% tip since it wasn't earned, and the waitress had the nerve to come back to the table and point out that it was low tip and wasn't the right %"

"Great atmosphere for lunch. We had a fantastic Winterlicious lunch. The beef ribs were delicious as was the tamarind peppercorn chicken. Portions were a good size for lunch. The sticky rice with mango was a bit disappointing. It seemed too dry and 'packed' together. Perhaps it is the restaurant's style but I am used to eating the more soft and sweeter kind from my travels to Thailand.
My friend and I had a great time and we met Linda (the owner). She was friendly and suggested to come back for dinner in the future to try the other items on the menu."
