"Made a reservations for 7:30. Showed up prior to time and was to be sat at a small table next to kitchen. Asked to be moved to an open booth and was told it was reserved for a later reservation. We agreed to wait for a booth (30 minutes) as manager said you need to request a booth when making reservation. I spoke to owner and he said we should have gotten any open table we requested. Manager and Hostess were obviously trying to push all parties of two to these tiny tables and wanted to save a booth for a foursome.VERY POOR customer service policy. I never heard of having to request a specific table at a specific time before. This is not an exclusive restaurant for such nonsense........."

"We stopped by for an early dinner on a Saturday evening. We were delighted to find that they have an early dinner special, so we gave that a try. The portion sizes were perfect since we were going out afterwards and couldn't take leftover with us. The service and food were very good. We will definitely return."

"Catch 23 is an excellent neighborhood restaurant. The noise level for this visit was unusually high, due to the bar being packed with folks watching the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo, but it cleared out pretty quickly once the race ended, and it was back to normal. The food and service is always excellent."

"Service is friendly but VERY slow. Not very attentive which is interesting since there are always two people assigned to each table. Hamburger is exceptional. Lobster bisque is outstanding. Tea used to be tropical and very good but is now just regular tea and just average, actually average for Hillsborough...ie has bad water taste. Would have ranked food excellent if not for bad water taste in tea."

"Food quality is always consistently great but service is slow. Beverages came after apps were served. Watched one busboy delivering food go to the wrong table each time he brought out food. Place would be excellent if they improved speed of drinks (get a service bartender) and wait staff worked in teams."

"Love going to the restaurant. This visit we sat outside. There was a very big umbrella to keep the sun away. The food didn't disappoint us and was as great as usual. We go here often, probably at least 3 times a month. The menu has so many options that you don't have to keep repeating any item, although the mussels are so special, with the bacon and blue cheese. Who would have thought that combination up, but it is amazing!"

"It's hard to describe this restaurant. It specializes in Seafood with a Caribbean "Twist."
Of course they have your standards, like French Onion Soup -- which had a nice rich broth. Their Crab Cakes were nice -- maybe a little too much bread. The Chilean Sea Bass was wonderful. Perfectly cooked and with your choice of sauce. Even the sides have a "twist" to them. Service was friendly. We'll be back."

"During our annual trip to Clearwater for spring training we have made it a point to have dinner at Catch Twenty-Three for the last five or so years. The menu was simple and the fish cooked simply, which is all we want. The service was always outstanding and the place had (and has) a welcoming, casual feel.
Our impression this year after eating there twice is that the place has slipped in food and service. The fish was overcooked (that never happened before) and the waitstaff left much to be desired -- friendly but inattentive and forgetful (for example, we had to ask for silverware, napkins, bread, hot sauce -- twice -- and drinks)."

"We were waited on by Alex H. She was great. A thunderstorm started just as we were leaving and she insisted on accompanying each of us to our car with an umbrella. The car wasn't far away but it was raining really hard. She must have been very wet by the time she got back to the restaurant."

"If I could have rated noise at "LOUD" I would have. While our food was good, and all came out correctly, our server was much more interested in the bigger table next to us, mostly ignoring us all evening.
Fish was great, and steak was tender. Not a quiet romantic scene by any means, so if you are looking for that, I'd suggest you skip this place. But if you want a good place to meet with friends and eat decent food, this would be a great place for that."

"Been to Catch 23 many times, always good, except this time. Seated promptly, waited 8 minutes for waitress to come to table. Ordered Filet M/R, came Mediuim. Wife's Mahi-Mahi was fishy tasting. She didn't complain, but I caught it when I took a bite of it. Waitress was not very attentive, had to ask her for rolls in beginning."
