"Sauciety is a dramatic, modern place with a soaring ceiling, immense windows and a great view of National Harbor. Reservations folks were wonderful. The food was very good--not spectacular; and table service good without being great. In fairness, we had dinner on Mother's Day and the staff had clearly had a busy day. If you want a good meal with a great view--and don't mind paying for it--it's a good choice."

"The location is great, the menu is reasonable, the wine list is varied, but the staff training leaves much to be desired. We ordered the fixed price dinner with a bottle of Stag's Leap Merlot. The waiter was courteous, but clearly unskilled for a retaurant associated with a Westin Hotel. One example is that he brought the wine and poured a glass for my wife then for me without offering a taste for my approval. When the bill was presented it included a 25% "service charge." I asked to talk to the manager. He came and I informed him that I had no intention of paying 25% for the service I had experienced. I shared my travails with him and suggested a thorough round of training for the wait staff consistent with Westin. He agreed."

"The Brunch Buffet appeared to be a challenge for the staff at Sauciety. It is a lovely atmosphere with an incredible view. The staff was accommodating, but the food was "room temperature" at best (even after a reminder). Good luck!"

"We had reserved a table for breakfast, but they said they were only serving brunch, even though the menu they had on their site, and as you walked in showed breakfast. They sat us after 20 minutes, even though there were only 4 tables full, none of the others were set up. The woman manager just stood around, or was on the phone constantly, doing everything she could not to do any work. We finally were able to order breakfast, had to be resat at a larger table, and took about 35 minutes to receive our food.
The waitress was very nice, as well as the male manager. The hash browns were burnt.
Overall, I would avoid this place. Did not seem like there was much organization at all."

"Let's be clear, Sauciety is an upscale "hotel restaurant". It does nothing to be considered a standalone high quality dining place. It is very quiet, and has a beautiful view of the Potomac, but the dining experience was somewhat lacking.
I'll start from the beginning. My wife and I were looking for an experience similar to "the melting pot", and being that the gimmick of Sauciety is the sauces we expected to be offered sauces to try with our meal. The only "sauce" offered was given to us with the bread, about 45 minutes into our dining experience. The meals on the menu for the most part have nothing to do with sauces. Food was good, but I'm not sure it was worth the expense."

""I love the relaxed feel of this place - dark, small and cozy – like a comfortable living room. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The dipping oil for the bread reminded me of my many meals in Italy it was just amazing and the Fried Oyster appetizer was refreshing. I loved that I asked for a well-done steak and that is what I got which in most establishments doesn't happen. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.""

"This place is great for a first date, girlfriend lunch, or non-romantic special occasion. The room is VERY loud. Nice, but loud. If you like to linger this place is for you! Don't expect to get out in under two hours.
Food is consistently good. This is my 3rd meal since opening and service is getting better. It is still it's own brand of attentive. Servers drop by a lot, but are not mindful of the little things (bread, water must be asked for). We were there 20 mins before our server came to the table, and well over an hour before food of ANY KIND arrived (our menus were STACKED HIGH at the end of the table in under 5 mins, so the hint was clear)
When the service matches the food and ambiance, I'd visit more often."

"Sauciety was an overall bad dining experience. The night started off with the hostess asking us to wait even though several tables were available immediately (I've heard that this is a ploy that restaurants use to give off an air of luxury, but it just annoys customers). Once we were finally seated, it took 15 minutes to receive water, then another 10 minutes to get our drink order. The wait for our entree took so long that hostess gave us complimentary soup dishes, which, granted were a nice touch. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and did not warrant the wait or price paid. I have no plans on going back anytime soon. Also, the whole sauce thing is a gimmick, it didn't work well at all with our food."

"Slow service on a very slow night. Waited for server for 45 minutes until another server noticed our frustration and came to help. Food was cold and looked like it had being sitting for a while. The only good item was the tomato soup. The lychee tart was by far the worse thing. I understand it is a prefixed menu for restaurant week. But the service and food does not want to make me go back at all.
In another note I did not appreciate getting a call asking to confirm my reservation then being told to spell my last name because whatever I wrote " didn't make sense", however the reservation was done online. I can understand not knowing but the person who called made it seem as if it was my fault. Complete lack of customer service."

"Our server was great. Very knowledgeable of the menu and really apologetic about how long it took to get our food. The hostess did not seem to care that we were waiting for our table after I made a reservation. The restaurant seemed understaffed. A couple next to us left because they waited so long for service. The food was great, the service was sub-par and for the price of the food, the service needed to be a lot better."

"Nice place. Bright, open and on the water with big window views. Our waiter was very nice and good, but the food was not so good. We had Lamb Chops, Filet and Lobster, and Ribeye. All was just okay. One meal came out cold but was taken care of, no problem and was taken off check without us asking."

"I went with a group of four on a Friday night. Our reservation was for 8:00 PM, and we were not done with our meal 10:45 PM. This was not due to hanging around for a while after eating, but an extremely long wait to receive our food. It was around 10 minutes before we were even greeted and had someone take our drink order. It took over well over an hour to receive our entrees. Our server, when he came by, would simply say, "your food should be out soon." We never received an explanation or apology for the extremely long wait for our food. Maybe that is the norm. The only positive was that the food was tasty. Anyhow, I do not plan on returning to Sauciety."

"By far the worst service I've ever received. First we had to wait 10 minutes, even though we had a reservation. The entire night we had stalk waiters, hostesses, and managers to order our drinks, meal and get some refills. It took over 30 minutes to get our salad and over an hour to get our entree. We waited for dessert for another 30 minutes when a waiter came to our table and asked what was going on. When we told him he said he didn't know who our waiter was and he wasn't on our listed. Instead of apologizing like most restaurants would he came back later and told us the desserts we ordered, at the very beginning of our meal, was no longer available. We ended up staying there for 3 hours and the mediocre food was definitely not worth $40."

"Visited Sauciety for Restaurant Week. We went on a Wednesday night during the non-existent snow storm. The wait staff was very attentive but then again there were only 4 other tables being serviced. The decor and ambiance is really nice, relaxed but upscale with a full wall of windows. All the food was really good and the staff was accommodating in changing the soup from what was offered on the restricted to something else since we don't eat beef or pork. We had cup of cream of crab soup, salad, lobster tail, and lamb chops. Desert was an apple with bread crumbs and brie cheese. All of it was delicious. Will definitely visit again."

"We stayed over the weekend at the Hotel. Had dinner one night at the restaurant. It was surprisingly good. Prices were average for this area. Service was excellent. It was a cold weekend and not to many guests. The views are fantastic. Love the sauce spreads they do.Decent wind selection. Found an Argentine MalbecI really liked on the menu. Crab Cake appetizer was awesome. Friend ordered seafood medley dish that was great and I got the rib-eye. Only complaint is that they need to fix the deadlinks on their website.Its hard to find the info you want when the web pages aren't done properly."
