Located an easy ten to fifteen minute drive from Cleve-Hopkins Int"l Airport, Don’s Pomeroy House is a beautiful 163 year old historical landmark.The service is warm and truly friendly. We have an approachable, quality wine list. The fresh menu selections feature pristine Seafood along with USDA Steaks and Chops which are regarded as some of the finest in Northeast Ohio. This is the perfect place to dine and relax, entertain business or enjoy any special occasion. We offer several private dining options. There is also a lively pub, drawing a crowd where the atmosphere is casual and practically everyone knows your name. During the warmer months, alfresco dining under our canopy of trees is simply one of a kind. Simply put, we offer a unique cool atmosphere, warm friendly service and excellent quality food. "It was just perfect! A very important birthday for my wife. I brought my 2 kids, age 19 and 24 as well. We expect the food to be excellent but what we find that is different is how comfortable we feel while we are there. We feel at home and very relaxed. Kind of like we are part of the family! Thank you for an great time and your efforts towards an excellent customer experience!"

A new salad has been added to the menu, a slightly grilled romaine heart with bacon & pretzel croutons which is absolutely off the charts. Very simple but a wonderful addition to their already great salad selections. One of our favorite spots in the area for fine dining."

"I have to say that our entrees were great! As for the room, however, there was much to be desired. We were seated at a very cramped table in the corner - a space ALL of the waiters/waitresses use to put their food trays on the stand, regardless of the table location. It was very distracting to have a waitress just inches away from you all throughout your meal with other people's food. There were several times that we stopped our conversation for the sake of privacy. We were also in front of a door leading to the parking lot, which I can only assume was intended to be locked. The door wasn't marked on the outside as "exit only," so we had some chilly breezes meet us when others mistook it for the main entrance. Old school, dingy feel!"

"After reading about Don's Pomeroy House for years, we recently decided to have dinner there on our anniversary. So, the stakes were high. Turned out that we made a wise choice!
Our appetizers and entrees were excellent and beautifully presented. The wine list offered a good selection at reasonable prices. However, the highlight of the evening was the service. Michael was helpful, attentive and very accommodating of the leisurely pace we requested for the evening. Best of all, when we mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary, he presented us with a beautiful dessert (compliments of the house). He then took our picture, which was enclosed in a lovely card for posterity. We will most certainly return!"

The inside dining room is cozy, quiet, and intimate. The patio in summer is cool, shady, and a wonderful place to have lunch. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone."

"We have been going to Don Pomeroy House for several years now, and have absolutely loved it. This Saturday night we were celebrating a birthday. We had rented a limo, the works. We requested our favorite waiter, Mike, but instead got a lady who provided terrible service. I had to wait 20 minutes to get salad dressing (actually flagged down a bus girl to get it for me). After we ate our salads, we literally waited more than 30 minutes to get our entree. I almost said forget it. It was like our waitress forgot we existed; maybe because I had kids with me she thought she wouldn't get a good tip. I don't know. But, you can ask Mike how well I tip; she missed out! We never got to dessert. The food was not as good as usual either."

"They are extremely cheap with their seafood. The scallop entree for lunch was $17 and contained 2 medium scallops, and a dollop of risotto. That's it. The plate was plain, white, and sparse. "Ambiance and food were very good. Our waiter seemed to be not very confident in himself at all; always apologizing for something or another. He asked me if I wanted him to box up my leftovers. Since I had half my steak and my ENTIRE BAKED POTATO left, I said yes. When I got home the only thing in the "big" container he gave me was my 1/2 steak. WHERE WAS MY POTATO?! We will return, BUT I will refuse the waiter we had. He belongs either with the lunch group, or waiting tables at AppleBees!"

"Have not dined at Don's in years, and never disappoints. We showed up on Saturday for our dinner only to realize I had mistakenly made the reservation for the previous night, Friday (on Open Table). Don's took my mistake in stride and got us a great table anyway. I could not thank them enough for being so accommodating. As for food, we both got selections from the Prix Fixe menu and we enjoyed them both (a surf/turf and a 6 oz. filet). Still one of my favorite places to get dressed up for a romantic dinner!"

"Based on everything we have heard about this restaurant, my wife and I were disappointed by the overall experience. The atmosphere is great for a special occasion, but the food and service did not live up to expectations. It was not terrible by any means, but it was very average for a restaurant of this level. The steak was not impressive for a high quality steakhouse, and the waitress was inattentive (didn't refill water, etc). We will be choosing elsewhere for our next night out."

"The Valentine's Day dinner for myself and my husband was wonderful. The service was great and the food was delicious. The only small complaint I had was that the heat was turned up too high. My husband and I felt like we were in a sauna until I finally asked them to turn down the heat."

"We moved to the area about six years ago. Over time we have found that Don's Pomeroy is a marvelous restaraunt. I have collegues from Europe over frequently. They frequently request this spot because of its excellent American style food.
Sometimes a little crowded but not to an annoying point. I consider it a price to pay for a popular spot.
Environment is charming.
Always good for me."

"My waitress made the night. We had great food with the exception of my chef going 0 for 2 on my steak. Not the end of the world though. My bill was discounted and I have a steak I can throw on the grill and finish cooking. Wait staff was amazingly fantastic!!"

"We've been to Don's Pomeroy House before and it's food, service & atmosphere has ALWAYS BEEN EXCEPTIONAL! I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which simply melted in your mouth...one of their most flavorful seafood choices. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak topped with scallops, prepared perfectly. We've eaten outdoors during the summer months & found it to be equally outstanding in terms of food & service. This is definitely a "must visit" place for celebrating that special occasion!"

"My husband and I went here for my birthday. I think the waiter thought we had never been there before by the way he was treating us. He flat out told us every special except the kobe filet were bad and never told us about the appetizer special which we later heard another waitress tell her table. Also, my husband had told him it was my birthday and at Don's you get a cream puff dessert and your photo taken when you go there for special occasions but he never acknowledged it. In fact he gave us a dessert menu while he took photos of the table next to us. My husband and I had been collecting these just as my parents had but I guess no more. What a waste since we came from Columbus! Thanks Ken!"
