Cassis American Brasserie brings to downtown St. Petersburg a concept of “Continental Comfort Cuisine” in the tradition of European Brasseries, yet with the relaxed flair of American eateries and a feeling of “always been there”.

"Had another great meal with friends and family. Our server did an exceptional job of describing the menu option to some of our first time guest. We took our time with drink and then the main course. After dinner we took a short walk around the waterfront and then returned to their bakery for dessert and coffee. Great night... thanks."

"this was our second trip to Cassis, and the second time that the service was poor at best. When we arrived, we were seated immediately, but sat for almost 10 minutes before a waiter arrived. Both times we have gone, it was obvious that there was not enough wait staff. The waiter was certainly trying, but could not get to the tables fast enough."

"There for Mother's Day brunch. Service was terrible and then they added a 20% tip. I asked and was told that was supposed to only be for parties of 6 or more and we weren't. Some kind of scam?

"No one told me it was buffet only on mothers day! No indication on site, nobody mentioned it when I waited. My table was ready about 15 minutes after my reserved time. The food was okay, not worth what I paid. Seating was cramped."

"We had reservations for 7 and still had to wait 10 minutes for them to set up a table. Forty-Five minutes for the food to arrive but had to wait an additional 20 after they had mistakenly taken one of our meals to the wrong table. It was not like the place was crowded but our waiter never seemed to be around and I can imagine where the food had been mistakenly taken to, we seemed to be the only ones eating. The others seemed to be talking…. probably passing the 45 minutes until their food showed up. For the price, I expected much better."

"Beautiful weather. Our server, Chad, was impeccable. Not intrusive, very accomodating. That was the best part of the exeperience. My husbands blueberry pancakes were almost non existent in the blueberry category. My french toast was ok. Not cooked in certain places, but the honey mascarpone was excellent! "Arrived for Easter brunch to find they'd set our table for 8 outside directly in the sun. Two members of our party can't be in the sun, so we had to change. It took the hostess nearly an hour to find us an inside table (they were wicked busy) and she kept forgetting the name on our reservation ("What's your name again? How many people?"). She must have asked this four times. $29.99 buffet was priced right and all was fresh and good, but nothing really special...typical brunch fare. Complimentary valet parking was well done...and highly necessary. Drinks were generous pours and very well crafted. Overall, it's a nice place, but our expectations exceeded our experience."

"I believe we would have had a better meal if we had gotten a different waiter. He did not bring out our app (did not show up on the bill), all of the meat was over cooked, and he didn't really check on us. We still don't know why we got him, since we were his only table on the inside that night. We were able to hear the other wait staff do their menu spiel and all the ones we heard did a much better job than ours. We may give it a second chance, but it will be a while before that happens."

"The meal started off well, with decent service and ok drink service. When my soap was delivered (mussel saffron) it lacked any saffron flavor, but I didn't know this for more than 10 min as no spoon was brought with my soap and no one came even close to us to waive someone down or check on us. From there it got way worse. Service was SLOW, parts of our meal were COLD and inedible. We were never asked how it was or why we didn't eat whole dishes. The kicker was when she came over with our check and never asked us about coffee or dessert. We never even complained but we felt like she just wanted us gone. We had gelato down the block."

"Cassis was delightful for brunch on March 3, 2013. Although there is plenty of outdoor seating, we asked to be seated indoors due to the chilly temps in St. Petersburg that weekend. I ordered their “three eggs” breakfast (but requested and was served egg whites), with bacon, and when I realized there’s a French bakery on the premises (or next door?), a chocolate croissant, with delicious dark coffee. The croissant was fresh and flaky; it would’ve been incredible if it had been slightly warmed. The only disappointment had nothing to do with the restaurant but rather the Florida policy that no alcohol can be served before 11 am on Sundays, so we had to wait- patiently- for our mimosas. Our server was polite, competent, and friendly."

"Our waiter appeared bored as he recited the specials and did not seem particularly interested in waiting on us. He was more interested in a group of young people at a near-by table. After the entree was served by different waiters he never stopped by to see if we needed anything or if everything was ok. I doubt that we'll return."

"Whenever we come to St. Pete we always have lunch here. We love the outdoor dining and the view of the bay is beautiful. They make a mean hamburger and the fries are delicious. I love the soups and the salads. So delicious."

"We ate here as a family of four. We ate early, so we were able to take advantage of the happy hour drinks, which saved a lot of money. The atmosphere at Cassis is very much French brasserie. We had excellent service. The waiter gave us some great tips and also suggested ways to save on the bill. The food is very good, although nothing spectacular. Like most all the restaurants on Beach Dr, there's plenty of outdoor seating, if that's your thing."

"Had high expectations and can't say that I was disappointed but still was surprised by the inflexibility of the kitchen. Waiter tried to get a few special requests done (nothing too fancy) but kitchen refused. We still had a great time...but I wish the kitchen were more accommodating..."

"As it was Valentine's Day and cold, I gave Cassis the benefit of the doubt. However, there was so much confusion between staff and the kitchen and lots of apologies, but without remuneration. The meal was disrupted by servers with food we did not order, food brought too soon and potatoes served AFTER the meal was completed. The final blow was when we were charged for the uneaten potatoes. The server was NOT accommodating considering everything we had to endure. I will not recommend this and will also write a review on Trip Advisor."

"We often dine at Cassis, and it has a great atmosphere. The food is good to excellent, depending on what one orders and on the night. Service was a bit off this time, but it was a holiday and they were extremely busy (and I think our waiter was rather new). Overall, Cassis is reliable and sometimes extraordinary. Outside dining (with heaters) was great!"

"A good friend recommended Cassis and based on our experience, we plan on coming back as the food was amazingly delicious. Our server, on the other hand, was a bit too aloof and never refilled our water. We ordered the lemon and garlic hummus (delicious) but did not have enough pita bread. We asked for more and to our surprise, the waiter charged us for it! The prices are high and based on the portion of hummus, there should have been more pita bread to start with. It was his lack of customer focus and presenting himself in a more kind way that we ranked his service as fair. This should not deter you from going to Cassis and enjoying wonderful food!"

"Went with a group of friends. The food was excellent, our waiter was competent but probably new as he seemed nervous and had to keep checking his notes on some of the menu. We sat outside under an overhang which was fine but the lighting was awful.
