Della Terra is a Northern Italian restaurant located in the new Avant building in downtown Buffalo. Della Terra means, “from the earth”. A meaning that is translated to the way we prepare our food. This is why we have seasonal menu selections; designed to take the very best Mother Nature has to give at the peak times of freshness
"I arrived on time for my booking and found no one at the stand or for that matter on the floor. After a four-minute wait, I got someone from the hotel desk (yes, the restaurant is in a hotel lobby, which I didn't know) to find a waiter. Unapologetic, yet friendly, he showed me to a table. The salad was delivered well before the glass of wine I ordered, and then the dinner was delivered well before I finished my salad. I ordered the only pasta on the menu of this "Italian" restaurant since I was carbing up for cycling. Big mistake. The pasta was slightly overcooked, the sauce was flavorless, the meatballs unseasoned. All carbs, no flavour, a big mess o' bland."

"My sister and I brought our mother here for Mother's Day! Our waiter, Tom, was so personable and sweet! She felt as if we tailored the whole dinner just for her!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere!
Thank you Della Terra! A job well done!"

"Delicious...as always. The filet my wife ordered was cooked to perfection. The lasagna I ordered was superb. The waiter was very pleasant and was nice and friendly. Just the way we like them."

"I had been to Della Terras twice before I decided to go for restaurant week 2013. I dined with 5 other women and they recieved their meals and mine came close to them being done. I asked to be compensated with a glass of wine for the wait. The waiter told me he asked the chef to recook my chicken as he thought it was overdone. Since when does a chicken breast take longer than lasagna. That was my last time at Della Terra. Wait staff has changed. Restaurant was almost empty on a Thursday night. I guess the public agrees."

"Great food, friendly service. Things we a little quick, though not rushed. Never got one course before we were finished with another. Just was a slow night so the kitchen must have gotten things out quick. Only issue was the noise from the Managers reception at the Embassy Suite."

"The last time we were there, it was great. One of my favorite dining experiences in Buffalo but this time it was just soso. And then I read other reviews that said it's very hit and miss. Too bad. I won't go back because at that price I can't afford another miss."

"The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Our server, Tom, was attentive and informative. There was good timing between the courses; we never felt rushed. The food was very good. We ordered off the Valentines Day menu. Two in our party had the seafood lasagna and thought it was rich, but good. The others had different pasta dishes. Everything was of very good quality. We would go back!"

"An excellent all around experience! My wife had the Filet Mignon cooked perfectly to her order (medium-well) and I had a wonderful spaghetti and meatballs, which was superb! You could tell the meatballs were freshly made and outstanding (not a bunch of "filler" like most places)!! We would dine there again in a heartbeat and recommend it highly!"

"The menu was extremely limited due to Valentine Weekend and was told the "normal" menus wasn't available. However a table of 5 seated next to us and folks obviously known by the staff, were able to order off the regular menu. The table for two was too small and wobbeled terribly There was only 16 inches between my table and another couple sitting next to us. When we asked to be moved -the only other choice was a tiny table in the corner facing the wall. The waiter didnt seem to remember what we ordered and consequently mixed up the order. Actually we only ordered appetizers and left as we were so dissapointed with everything. I would NOT reccomend this place to anybody."

"The food was very good. The service was noticeably slow, although not so bad as to completely detract from the meal. The layout, decor, and ambiance is probably more suited for the lunch crowd. It feels more like the hotel lobby restaurant that it is and less like a great stand-alone bistro."

"After we were seated, we ordered a bottle of wine. Took somewhere between 10-15 minutes before the waiter brought it to our table and uncorked. We ordered an appetizer & our main course ( on separate occasion), prior to receiving our wine. The restaurant was less than half capacity.
For the cost, i would not go back. Food was very good, but the atmosphere is cold, our table looked out over the bar & hotel lobby. very distracting. They need a curtain to separate the restaurant. In my opinion there are much better options that will cost you less."
