"Dinner was perfect. I took my sweetheart for a Valentine Treat and was not disapointed. Was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Great food, service and value.My sweetheart had a salmon with hoison to die for. I had a rib eye steak with wonderful grilled flavor...and so tender...delightful. I will return to Faz soon."

"The food and service were excellent. I have dined repeatedly over the years at Faz Danville on "special" occasions and have always found each occasion made even more special by the care and attention of the fine staff. Faz Danville has elegance that is warm and friendly rather than being stiff and cold. My affection for this establishment is such that it grieves me to reveal that my experiences there have been marred by the fact that whenever I have ordered dessert, the result has been consistently disappointing. I will certainly continue to dine at Faz Danville and would urge everyone to do so, but skip the desserts."

"Overall, decent meal.

We had duck and a filet. Duck was good; however, the filet was not very tender and was fatty. Compared to what's offered at other restaurants that are similarly priced, we found our experience sub-par.
This was unfortunate, because we had planned a special Valentine’s Day evening.
Also, the champagne served with the special Valentine’s dinner was close to room temperature (not chilled properly).

Overall,we doubt that we will return."

"We had a 5:00pm dinner reservation. When we arrived, we were going to be seated at one of the bar dining areas which was completely empty and away from the main dining room. I expressed my dislike to the hostess and asked to be seated in the main dining room since there were only a couple of tables that were already taken. We were then escorted to the main dining room seated in the middle and we asked the waiter to let us sit by the wall area since there were two tables that were empty. That was probably the only negative part of the whole dinner. The server provided excellent service. In my opinion, there is no logical reason for us to have gone through this negative experience."

"We went to dinner at 6:30pm so it wasn't too busy, just right for good conversation. I had a special blood orange salad that was really tasty and my husband had the crab cake which I will say is the best we have had in California. I got the AHI special and it was good but not great. My husband got the Pork chop which was amazing and a really big portion. We had a special dessert with chocolate dipped strawberries and chocolate gellato which was delicious. For cocktails we began with a cosmo- perfect! and a manhatten which was okay.
We brought our own bottle of wine for a special occasion and the corkage fee was $15- more reasonable than I thought. Overall a good experience. Service was excellent!"

"The hostess said to wait in the bar until our table was ready. Once there, it seemed like the bar was for a dinner party, a fact later confirmed by an employee who advised this was a private party. We just huddled against a far wall, trying to stay out of the way.

My wife ordered a drink which the friendly water forgot. I had to remind him, and he was quite apologetic. He apologized even more profusely for the very long wait for the food. Probably about 35 minutes. My dish, a pasta dish was good, but not memorable. My wife's lamb dish was quite good, according to her.

At least the water was kept full, but overall, pretty forgettable. I'll take Big Horn Grill in San Ramon any time over Faz.

"Worst service ever. There were 4 of us. Two were served soup. The other two did not get their salad until 15 minutes later. Of the four entrees two were wrong. We sent those two back and ten minutes later the new entrees were served with one still being wrong. My wife ended up eating lamb shank instead of a lamb chop that was ordered. We ended up being charged for rock shrimp and pasta (not lamb). The waiter was so inept it was a joke."

"The food was pretty bad. The calamari was very bland.Two members of our party ordered steak and neither one had any flavor at all, nor was it cooked to order. I ordered the canneloni and was disappointed to find that it had a bitter taste. Service was fair with a waiter that was uninterested and unattentive. I would not recommend this restaurant to others."

"Parking was convenient. The food was great. The server was less than attentive. I dined with my fiance. I was seated without a napkin and by the time I needed one, the server was out of contact for over 10 minutes. The group of 10 next to us was very loud. There is not much to isolate sound in this restaurant, so the sound ambiance will vary by the demeanor and intoxication of those present. The sound level and service were better at the Pleasanton Faz."

"Overall a very nice experience. The food was good, but was a little more bland than i would have hoped. I had a wedge salad and a sausage pizza. The wedge was excellent, lovely dressing. The pizza was tasty but could have been punched up considerably in terms of taste intensity. Great crust, great cheese...just missed on the sausage. Service was excellent and the ambiance is beautiful."

"This is my second time to Faz in recent months. We thought that that bar was lacking in ambiance (too bright and plain). Secondly, the way the tables were done in the restaurant made for a very tight path to get to the tables. Food was average at best. Other than sitting on the patio in the warmer months, pretty much a non-starter for future meals."

"This is my third time at Faz and it did not disappoint once again. I tried the shrimp kabob special and it was fabulous. I love looking outside to the beautiful redwood trees. I will be back even though the waiter thought we were kidding when we ordered the appetizer platter which we never got. Why would he think we were "kidding"? He was very sweet about his not bringing it out, but one reason we went to Faz was for that appetizer platter. Oh well, another excuse to go back."

"I was unhappy with my meal at Faz - especially that I have enjoyed the food there before. I ordered the swordfish served with roasted potatoes and vegetables. The potatoes were drowning in oil - very unappealing. Additionally, they didn't have any taste. The fish was dry and overcooked. The only saving grace was the accompanying salsa which was tasty. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, but unless the kitchen steps it up I won't be back."

"We enjoyed the food. Wait staff was average - they forgot to wait on us and when they did, they brought someone else's meal to us.

The restaurant was extremely loud with several large parties at the restaurant. It was so loud, we opted not to have dessert but go elsewhere for dessert.

"I live very close to the restaurant, and it is a logical place to go for this reason. The best thing about Faz is the outdoor dining, which was not possible, given the season. The waiter was better than other times we have eaten there, but they are generally either under staffed or poorly managed. I was remarking to my guests that my dinner was just a mere step up from Denny's. I am amazed that this restuarant has survived, given where it is located."

"Overall we had a nice meal on Christmas Eve. Kids menu was perfect - loved the option of adding a kids salad for $2 (romaine and dressing - just perfect). Service up until the entrees was great, but then our service became very slow and I had to ask for a refill on my coffee 3 times before someone finally refilled it. One waitress (not ours) was very rude to my husband as he tried to navigate through the tight tables (extras put in for the holiday) with my 3 kids on the way out. Other than those service issues, food was good and I would try it again."

"It's hard to pull off Christmas Day dinner at a restaurant with so many families and expectations. Faz almost did it. The food (except the dolmas, which used tough, woody leaves) was really good, and the menu accommodated different interests. Waitstaff was earnest and welcoming, though not particularly skilled. It has the perfect noise level, bustling but not loud. One of our party is hard of hearing and he was able to enjoy himself without strain. Overall, it is a fun place with good food, and if they can train their waitstaff a little more without losing the charm, it's a fine place for a celebratory dinner. And did I say the food is really good? It is!"

"I was there on Christmas night which may not be a fair evening to judge. There were very few restaurants open so this one had set up tables in the lobby and the bar....which made it not very kid friendly because there was no place to wait for our table since a child could not sit at the bar. I must say however, the kitchen handled the crowd VERY well. The food was great. I expected a prix fixed menu and was pleasantly surprised that we had an al a carte menu to choose from. A nice choice of appitizers, salads, entres and even pizza's! We were seated on time and the food was served in a timely manner! Great experience."

"We loved our experience at Faz in Danville. Restaurant was decorated with tons of holiday lights. The bar service was good and they made excellent drinks. The wine list was also very good with a large selection. The food was excellent We had rack of lamb which was outstanding. The restaurant was quite busy and the only problem was they attempted to seat us in a back dining room at a very tiny table. In that room the noise level was horrible. I had specifically asked for a table in a quiet location, so we refused the table. They did give us another table in the main dining room which was great. Our res was 5:00pm, but they had decided to open at 3:00pm without notifying opentable. Would have liked to have been notified."

"We made our reservations at Faz late Saturday afternoon and were grateful they were still accepting reservations. When we got there the place was buzzing with holiday dinner parties. The staff scrambled to accommodate everyone. As busy as they were they bent over backwards to get us seated and served promptly without making us feel rushed. It was a tough job that night yet the staff (special kudos to the hostess) maintained a positive attitude and the kitchen turned out well-prepared food. We sincerely appreciated the service we were given, knowing that the staff was under tremendous pressure. We dine out frequently and know good service when we get it. Thanks, Faz."

"Thanksgiving dinner was very pleasant and relaxed. Service allowed time to chat but was not too slow. We enjoyed the special selections for Thanksgiving's menu with the turkey served attractively on rectanglar plates. The swordfish special was delicious and generous in portion size. Vegetables were not overdone and still al dente."

"We had a a delightful lunch. Because we had reserved a later time we were not rushed at all which was a special treat. The main course had very nice variety of food, I think the appetizer and salad portion of the buffet could have offered a more diverse variety. Our waiter was deligtful."

"Faz is elegant simplicity; large enough and designed to give every table a feeling that you have your own space to enjoy your family and friends and your conversation. The wait staff is amazingly professional with meeting your eyes every so often to let you know they are there when you need something. Their Thanksgiving Day brunch was wonderful array of tasty breakfast foods and with all the Thanksgiving favorites if prefer lunch. We will definitely include Faz on our list of places for family functions. The selection of desserts and good coffee was a warm ending to a wonderful Thanksgiving Day brunch. Thank you Faz,
