"I had the Hawaiian Albacore, and it was exactly what I wanted. The fish was seared to a medium rare, so it was smooth with a gentle bite. The deep-fried capers were a very nice addition since I love capers but have never had them slightly crunchy. The salad was evenly dressed and made the meal very fresh and light. I really enjoyed my dinner here!"

"Outstanding experience for the food ( Albacore and duck breast) the beer (Nortinelli). Even the salads were excellent (beans salad and warm beets salad). The server was also attentive but not pushy. Great job!"

"This restaurant hidden away and accessible only through the Seattle market is perched on a cliff overlooking the bay with a beautiful view of the Olympic range (on a clear day). Super at sunset. It is a great spot for an intimate dinner with a loved one or a casual business meeting since it is quiet. The staff are cordial and knowledgeable. The food has great potential, but sadly not enough attention is given to plating it and serving it hot. Food arrived at dinner for 3 just barely warm and one plate was sent back for rewarming. And of course when you re-warm an entree, it loses greatly by drying out and overcooking. Otherwise Place Pigalle is a delight."

"Rapidly becoming one of my favorite spots. Amazing food, and really creative with flavors. Great service, awesome views, and good wine that is well priced. Was difficult to find the first time: it is buried in a corner at Pikes Place Market, but well worth the search!"

"After researching for a place to have dinner and a view, I took a chance and made reservations here. It turned out to not only meet, but exceed my expectations. Food was excellent. We had the sashimi special, green goddess salad, and pâté plate to start. My husband said it was his favorite pâté plate and I loved my salad! For mains, I had the scallops ( so good!) and he had the seafood bouillabaisse. The portions were large and we still made room for desert. A great spot for a date night in downtown Seattle."

"What a beautiful little restuarant! Hidden behind the fishmongers who throw the fish at the Pike Place Market. Food and service were outstanding! The view is not bad at all; we could see the Seattle Wheel and water view. A small place so make a reservation.

"Had a business colleague from SF and thought it might be nice to visit a neighborhood restaurant--haven't been to Place Pigalle for years. Our waiter basically ignored us the entire time. We had to ask for bread and waited for quite a while for our food; wanted more water for tea and also had to flag another person down to get some attention. The only nice person who actually ended bringing us our food was a young man by the name of Evan. He was great. Otherwise, you should know, with all the restaurant choices now, we will not be returning to Place Pigalle."

"Place Pigalle is tucked away in the market, with an outstanding view and great service. It's an intimate setting, and would be perfect for a special occasion. "LOVE the view of the Sound. It was a perfect evening so the windows were open.

"Overall really enjoyed the experience. A friend highly recommended the octopus but I wasn't that keen on it. The pairing with the sausage was awkward. The scallops were delicious but I was still hungry. The duck was tasty but the pot de creme was disappointing as it was not that flavorful and was too dense for our taste. Great service and the view is wonderful!"

"We always stop by when we visit Seattle. The food is delicious and a great value. We would recommend Place Pigalle to anyone who wants a small, charming--not too fussy restaurant experience and great French food. The wine list was good and the martini's excellent. Our table overlooked the Sound and we could relax and watch the ferries go back and forth. Being located in Pike's Place Market is a plus. We wandered around the shops after lunch."

"Excellent and fresh seafood--as you would imagine. A very nice selection of appetizers and salads--ordered the oysters on a half-shell, steamed mussels and sauteed bitter greens to start--all very good but the greens were outstanding. Fresh and flavorful. For dinner, we had the halibut (fish of the day) and the braised rabbit. As noted about their seafood, the halibut was prepared impeccably. The braised rabbit leg was delicious but the accompanying saddle roulade with duck sausage was so so (tough, and not very flavorful--I can see why the duck sausage was added).
The chocolate pot de creme for dessert was worth the price of admission, though.
Great place overall, and they live up to their reputation. Would highly recommend"

"This evening began well enough. We arrived 5 or 10 minutes later than our reservation time and we were still accommodated very quickly at a table by the window. However, from that point on, we had a waiter who seemed intent on rushing us through our meals from start to finish. The main thrust there seemed to be on just how fast a table could be turned over, including being rushed to pay our bill at the end. NOT a place to have a romantic dinner at all. Main courses were both very average (duck and rabbit) and very unlike true French cooking. Appetizers so so. Would not recommend this venue to anyone."

"When a restaurant reaches a certain competency, and provided it has some unique aspect, the quality of the evening then becomes a matter between you and your companions. Place Pigalle is such a place. Mood, service, food, wine-list, view, ambiance all allowed for our party to thrive. "The food was alright - they had a delicious creamy oyster soup, although their plate mussels was topped with bacon bits and sat in a not-so-memorable sauce. The pork belly with a side of salad was fair. The service was friendly and helpful, they would actually discuss a balanced meal so that you don't over-order. The setting is casual during the day and on the romantic side at night. If you're lucky to get the seats along the windows, the scenery is quite nice."

"The food was outstanding. My wife had the signature dish, mussels, and I had the French dip sandwich - the best I have ever eaten ANYWHERE. The background music left much to be desired. Some French cafe music would have been much more appropriate and certainly appreciated. Other than that, it was a good experience, and we shall return."

"A quiet spot in the brouhaha of Pike Place Market. The four of us enjoyed our lunch immensely. Two of us had the bouillabaisse which was excellent. One person ordered crab cakes Pigalle which she liked. A fourth person had risotto (spinach?) which he felt was good, but a little "soupy". Desserts (creme brulee and pot de creme) were excellent. The service was attentive, but not hovering. I especially liked that the waiter spontaneously told us the price of the day's special without having to be asked."

"My friend and I started the evening with the baked brie and a wine paired by our waiter, which wasn't our first choice but turned out to be a real winner. I had rabbit two ways and he had the lamb risotto also with a recommended wine for our entree. We ended with the most amazing creme brulee Ive ever had (very smooth and they didn't skimp on the vanilla bean). all of the food was wonderful the staff was great (even offered to hail a cab for us) and the restaurant its self felt like a romantic hole-in-the-wall find. it isn't cheap but is definitely worth every penny."

"This was dinner following a show at Benaroya Hall. Being Sunday evening the restaurant was about half occupied, contributing to a relaxed atmosphere. We began with cocktails and a signature mussel appetizer. The appetizer was a more than ample serving of mussels with bacon and a delicious sauce. Dinner was Petrale sole with root vegatable puree for one, and scallops with vegetable purée and watercress salad for the other - which were shared - accompanied by a bottle of Chardonnay. It was an excellent meal. Service was great. The cost was reasonable. We highly recommend Place Pigalle for a fine dining experience."

"I don't want to leave a stellar review in case everyone starts coming here. It's a cute little place and I am so glad we stumbled upon it. The staff is as friendly as can be, and the food was very good. They have an interesting menu. We ordered the rabbit with duck sausage, and the arctic char. The char was fantastic. It was cooked to perfection and the roasted squash and zucchini was excellent. Even the garnish on top was delicious. The rabbit was very juicy. They also had really nice wine - even just by the glass. We had a great time enjoying the view of the Great Wheel and the ambiance of the restaurant. I loved the lighting (somewhat dark and soft) and there was Ella Fitzgerald playing in the background. Fun place!"

"My friend and I did have a wonderful time. The French onion soup and pot du creme were wonderful as was our wine. The crab cakes no so much.
We particularly enjoyed our server, Guy, who attentive, personable and professional. He did make an allowance for the crab cakes.
We had a window table with a fabulous view of Elliot Bay and loved the old-timey ambiance.
We both left saying we wanted to return soon."

"We love Place Pigalle. With all of the Tom Douglas being shoved down your throat in Seattle, it is hard to choose something that isn't owned by him. Thankfully we did some research before hand and found this place. Authentic French-American bistro. Fantastic meat dishes. Some of the best mussels we have ever had as an app. YUM. Nice atmosphere and view. Good wine list and the bartender makes a great martini. We will be back for sure."

"Made reservations for Valentine's a couple of months in advance, they called the Monday before to confirm and check if I had any questions etc. On arrival our table wasn't ready yet so we had a drink at the bar. Both the bartender and our waiter were super attentive, we had a window table which was great for the view of the sound. My wife started with the escargot which she loved and then had the lobster which was perfect. Being a vegitarian I had the only one option on the menu, the raviolis which was very good. We finished with the chocolate calorie bomb, too rich for the wife. Great experience, only complaint is don't inform a vegitarian that the kitchen will have several options for him but then on the night only offer one entree."

"I am torn because I really wanted to love our dining experience here. The view from a table near the window is beautiful & romantic - you can see the waterfront and ferris wheel. Our French onion soup and beet salad were solid, classic appetizers. Nice flavors but not inventive. The main course is where the disappointment lies. I had crab cakes with asparagus and my partner had beef. The crab cakes had very little binding agent but the flavor (from spices) was sub-par - simply an overdose of paprika. Also, the crab didn't taste exceptionally fresh (you know, that moment you should have at any fine dining experience when you bite into a piece of fresh catch). The creme brûlée was mediocre at best. Service, view, and location were excellent."
