Cozy and inviting, Cellar 58 Wine Bar / Enoteca, offers a painstakingly curated yet fairly priced selection of over 120 wines from all over the world—including under-the-radar regions often unseen on wine lists—as well as delicious twists on classic Italian tapas. Our wine room can be reserved for VIPs or parties and can group 15 to 50 people.
"The menu was very limited, especially for healthy eaters. The only vegetable offered was sauteed spinach which was drenched in oil. When asked if the spinach (the only option) could be steamed, the answer was no. Also, the meal options are basically a pasta dish or a sandwich -- there really isn't much in between. On the other hand, everyone in our party enjoyed their food (except for the Caesar dressing -- it takes just like mayo)."

"Fantastic authentic Italian food. The staff mostly speaks Italian amongst themselves, which is always a good sign. Great value, great food. I will definitely go back!"

"They are a bit strick with the rules - no happy hour if you've booked on Open Table. That said, once seated the experience was nice and the food enjoyable. Appreciated the quite vibe."

"We came here for my birthday and they were able to accommodate 10 of us easily. We shared several small plates and dessert, as well as several bottles of wine. They did not rush us at all, and it was a really fantastic, low key way to celebrate on a weekday. The whole place is low lit, and has a great space for a larger party (maybe 20 people) in the back wine cellar room which looked like it could be a lot of fun. Just as a heads up, they did let me know that typically groups 10 and over must order from a pre-fixe menu. But I wouldn't let that turn you off... we really enjoyed ourselves!"

"I used a living social deal. My boyfriend and I "enjoyed" the app, but how can you mess up bruschetta. Our main meals however were horrible. Our pasta was not cooked and was very crunchy. My meal was not that hot making the cream lumpy. Ohhh and for some reason it was salty. Never coming back."

"The service was okay. The food was okay, at least from the Livingsocial ONLY menu I was offered. I had saw some items I wanted to order from their main menu but did NOT have that option from the LS only menu. Oh well. I didn't like their seating as I was sat at a table with stools, no back support and a high stool at that. I'm short so I couldn't really reach with my feet for support either. So posture had to remain at all times. But there was other normal seating (regular tables with chairs) that I would've preferred."

"Looks like this "neighborhood gem" has been discovered! The restaurant was the most crowded I've seen which I suppose is good for the restaurant but it was the first time in over 10 visits that I was disappointed with my meal. The calamari appetizer was cooked perfectly. However, the spaghetti alla carbonara was undercooked (yes, most people now call it "al dente" but hard is not al dente-it is not properly cooked), swimming in sauce (it is supposed to be dry) and loaded with chuncks of proscuitto, making it way too salty. Good luck, Cellar 58 - I may be moving on."

"The food was very salty and the service was poor. We had a reservation although we did arrive a bit late due to traffic, the waiter sat us right next to the door which was very cold. The wine was ok..although it was house wine and watered down. I would not reccomend this place to people with high blood pressure."

"This place is amazing. Classic, rustic Italian cuisine, like my grandmother made. In addition to the food, they have a smart wine list that goes well with the food. Big wines for big flavors. My husband and I went on a Sunday night, so it was a bit quite, but there was a large private party in the back wine room, so the noise level was just about what you could expect on a weekend night. The service was excellent, and the food was well prepared and presented. We will definitely be returning."

"TERRIBLE....I would not recommend this place to anyone. It took 45 minutes to get our appetizer of bruschetta & cucumber salad.. not that complicated, right? "cucumber salad" was sliced cucumbers with canned corn (including all the water at the bottom). Gnocchi was inedible, couldn’t even pick it up with a fork since it crumbled to pieces if you tried. I sent my spaghetti back, who messes up spaghetti??? The service was horrendous, we were yelled at my the manager for asking when our dinner would come (took another 45 minutes for dinner to be served). Spend your time and money elsewhere, you'll be happy you did!!!"

"An average NYC wine bar restaurant. Food is tasty and nicely presented in tapas kind of style. The menu is very limited. It has the Italian bistro basics. If you're looking for a variety of fish and meat dishes, this is not the place. It is a great place for those who are looking for a casual but a nice place to have a glass of wine with cheese, some appetizers or a bowl of pasta, maybe some meatballs too, and enjoy each other's company. Friendly and considerate service."

"Food was pretty good for a wine bar! Lasagna was tasty, although it was drowning in cheese, so stay away if you don't want a massive heart attack. It was my first time having buffalo mozzarella, and while I'm no connoisseur, I must say that it was quite creamy and flavorful. The service was good, but not stellar, as it took quite some time for the staff to take our order initially. We were also seated at a table right by the bar, which seemed all right when the restaurant was mostly empty, but quickly became an annoyance when customers started streaming in. Music was turned up a bit high and one bar patron nearly knocked over my wine glass at one point, so deduct serious ambiance points for that. Recommended, with caveats."

"Cute restaurant which would be a nice place to grab a semi-expensive glass of wine. But definitely leave it at just the wine. The food tasted like microwaved "Italian" dishes that came out of a plastic package with a plastic film for a lid. Even the French fries tasted limp and dehydrated. It's too bad, too. The menu looked great, but the execution was severely disappointing. The portions are small and the food overpriced. This place is less than 2 blocks from my front door, yet I will walk the extra block to go anywhere else."

"I ordered the special mushroom pasta dish, it was very bland and not good at all. My friend's crab cake was more corn than crab - definitely not worth $14. My other friend's lasagna was delicious, though when we asked for the remainder of this to be wrapped it never came back... Reservation was not needed on Friday at 8pm.
I live 4 blocks away and I don't think I'll go back."
