Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant
Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant of Montclair, NJ is a favorite for both vegans & meat lovers with its authentic Ethiopian food. All of our foods are prepared with imported Ethiopian spices prepared daily. The friendly staff and warm decor makes Mesob the perfect place to relax with family and friends. Our Injera, a delicious sourdough Ethiopian flat bread that you wrap your food with, makes Mesob a favorite with kids, where it’s a treat to “eat with your hands.” (but we also have silverware, if you prefer!)

"It's so refreshing to enjoy a delicious dinner in North Jersey at something other than an Italian restaurant. The food at Mesob is simply delicious. The dishes are refreshingly simple, with just a few ingredients that are expertly prepared and seasoned perfectly. The injera bread is so addicting that I wanted to keep eating it even after I was stuffed! The dining experience at Mesob is very unique by "typical" North-Jersey standards and I cannot recommend it enough!"

"We've been eating at Mesob for almost 5 years. Previously we lived in Highland Park, NJ & were huge fans of Makeda & were sad when it closed.
Having Mesob just blocks away from us in our new hometown is such a treat!
Mesob is such a warm & inviting setting. The owners are sisters, one in the back running the kitchen, the other running the front end.
Service is always attentative & friendly. The food is AH-MAZING. Mesob is the restaurant we always bring out of town guests to eat. BYOB.
Do try Mesob, you will not be unhappy that you did!"

"Went here for Valentines Day. Being a busy day, they might have overbooked or the tables aren't leaving as promptly as expected. Waited 5 minutes before being seated near the front door. Expected to be very chilly but temperature was as if sitting in the back. Service was excellent as well. Waiters very attentive, food delivered quickly, and no loss in quality being a packed place. Little loud but expected in open restaurant. This is my second time there."

"Have visited several times and have never been disappointed. Food is wonderful, very flavorful, very visually appealing presentation...almost too pretty to eat! The aroma of the exotic spices permeates the air and enhances the dining experience. The service is wonderful...staff are knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Portions and prices are reasonable. Eating without utensils adds to the experience!"

"Excellent food, great service. Tried the meat/chicken sampler and vegetable sampler; liked it all, even items I was sure I wouldn't. Louder than I prefer making it hard to hear at times(especially the staff who all seemed to speak softly). But overall, a great place to go and would definetly go again."
