"The view is awesome looking at the calm side of the ocean with sailboats parking on the dock. Great for having some wine as starter taking your time to enjoy the relax evening. The service is fantastic that they take care of your needs before you ask. Food is good with many choices. The oysters are really good."

"We've had dinner here a number of times, and the fish is always fish and well prepared. Staff is welcoming and attentive. Views from just abut everywhere on the top are great. There's also a patio area with umbrellas for use on warmer days/evenings.
A few drawbacks: The place is fairly noisy. The cioppino with lobster was our first disappointing dish, as it contained only minimal fragments of lobster, which were tough and stringy."

"The hostess and the manager made for a nice welcome. They couldn't find our Open Table reservation in their files but immediately identified a table and set us up. The menu is very long. There were two of us at dinner, and we had decidedly different experiences with our dinner choices. The mediterranean chop salad was refreshing--but i would suggest given the nature of this salad that they trade out blue cheese for feta. One of us had the chioppino, and one had the blackened swordfish. The swordfish was terrific; the chioppino was lousy--the crab was in the shell, hard to deal with and not worth eating when you got it out of the shell--and the remainder of the fish was not noteworthy."

"The seafood was fresh and the preparation was excellent. The view of the Sausaltio waterfront was a perfect way to end a week. Srvice was attentive without being rushed. Prices wee reasoanble giventhe quality of the food. The wine list was somewhat limited but adequate. Overall, this is an excellent restaurant for a causal evening out for seafood."

"Our party of 4 was celebrating a birthday. It was initially difficult to carry on a conversation due to the noise level. I don't know if we got louder or the noise leveled off but we were soon engaged in conversation, without distraction. The food was wonderful. The lobster special remains my favorite and the favorite of 2 other of our diners. The fourth person ordered the halibut and gave it a solid thumbs up. The chocolate mousse was a treat and included a candle for our birthday celebration. The service was very good and the waitpeople were friendly and helpful. The view was awesome. We all agreed this Sausalito location is superior to the previous one. Great experience!"

"We stopped by for lunch on a Sunday, which turned out to be Brunch. The menu was shortened, but the food was great. My wife enjoyed a bloody mary with a sandwich while I had the peddler benedict. We had a nice view of the marina with many families and other small groups also there. There is a large lot for parking nearby which you have to pay for."

"The Seafood Peddler moved from San Rafael to Sausalito over the past couple of years. The food is still outstanding, but we liked the San Rafael location better; it had a nice outside deck and was more spacious. This location feels a little cramped. But the seafood is still very tasty, so I'm sure we'll be back."

"Server rushed our courses but was very slow bringing 2nd glasses of wine. Extremely noisy night, hard to have conversation. No room at the bar for 1/2 price happy hour, we were assured a round at half-price at our table, but were charged full price"

"Finally a really good seafood restaurant in Sausalito. We love the Seafood Peddlar. I was very happy to get a live lobster for a very reasonable price and my boyfriend had the petrale. Both of us we very happy and we look forward to our next visit"

"We often went to the previous location. It was a favorite family spot. The new location in Sausalito is even better! It is smaller and more cozy. The views of the boats are really lovely. The food and menu were the same as the old location and my whole family, once again, enjoyed it very much. We went there to celebrate my son's 21st birthday. He enjoyed the surf 'n turf, but this time, with a cocktail!"

"Very disappointed with the lobster dinner. This was my third time going for the lobster. The other two times it was great. Last night the lobster was tough and overcooked. This was not only true for me, but for others at the table as well."

"There was a Seafood Peddler in San Rafael a little bit ago which was "okay", but this location is much better. Service was good, though perhaps a little slow. The portions were a good size and the food was tasty."

"My friends had the whole fish Petrale sole. it was fresh and they enjoyed I had the seafood risotto it was tasty but not much seafood in it. And I had my friends give me a taste of their vegetables. Lovely to have fresh flowers on the table, and they did after leading us to a dark table overlooking the parking lot and me objecting, took us to a lovely table looking at sailboats and bay.
So was a good experience.

"The table had smeared food on it which was crusty... The flowers on our table and all the others we passed were dead... Unfavorable first impressions. We were the first people to arrive for Sunday brunch at 11a.m. so perhaps they were not quite ready for guests. The fish market to go selections are good for taking home but we were all a bit disappointed in the restaurant food. OK-Good but not good enough. Too bad as we are within walking distance. We will continue to purchase fish at the market portion and perhaps try a lobster meal when they have a special going. Our waitress was very pleasant and efficient."

"I made our reservation for the wrong date, and yet they were able to accommodate us with a table with a beautiful bay view. The service was great, and they paced the table the way we wanted; we are slow eaters and like to enjoy the experience, and the staff made sure this happened! From the delicious oysters, to the refreshing salmon tartare, and then picking out my lobster for my entree, all washed down by a fantastic bottle of Chardonnay, the entire dining experience was impeccable. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"While the fish is well-prepared and the caesar salad crisp and delicious, the dining experience is somewhat diminished by little things like cheap wine glasses holding expensive and warm red wine and coffee-shop type pats of butter. They serve quality fish at the upper-end of fair prices and seem to be striving for a fine dining experience, but they haven't put all the elements together to pull it off."

"The service was excellent, and the food was good. The oysters were fresh and delicious, but the fish and chips were pricey for being merely an above-average fish and chips. The views are excellent and make it a worthwhile lunch spot."

"This transfer venue is a gem. Everything about it reassured us that there are still places where the food and service is exemplery. The noise level was a bit dauntingt but we overlooked it. In the furture we will look for a time that might not be as busy as Sat. night at 7 PM. It was also great to find Richard here sereving as an example of how restaurant management should be.,"

"We are so glad they re-opened 5 minutes from our home. The table side caesar is very good! When available the whole fishes are good as well. They also have fresh seafood for sale, and usually better priced than other purveyors, including big stores. The staff are very accommodating and customer service is always a first priority."

"We've dined many times at Seafood Peddler, but this was our first time in the new Sausalito location. I was pleasantly surprised. Atypical for Sausalito, parking was not a problem. The new decor is cozy with a good view of the harbor. The new facility is certainly more elegant than the previous San Rafael location. The lobster special was tender, the salads were crisp, the petralle with macademia crust was delicious, and the portions were generous. Overall, the food experience was very good. The wine list is extensive and can be challenging. The white wine that I picked (with the waiter's suggestion) was sweeter than we wanted, but that was my error. We certainly will come back and will recommend Seafood Peddler to friends."
