"After dinner we walked to our car and it was gone. Towed away to S and S towing ini Melrose Park. Cost us $198 to get it back and it ruined our wedding anniversary. Not to mentioned we got caught in a dangerous predicament at 9:30 PM between the towing company and some guy looking to do harm and dropping the F bomb at us , when the cab dropped us off. There was no parking available in the restaurant complex and I did not know I had to Valet the car. I parked in the lot 10 feet to the North. Thank you to the manager at Volare for paying $25 for the cab, but if I knew how dangerous the pick up would be, I would have waited till morning. Very scary night."

"We had a very nice Mother's Day dinner. Jody, our waitress, was excellent. My whitefish entree was delicious. I would certainly dine at this restaurant again. The only negative was the noise level. Part of this was due to the rowdy table of 30 people next to us! Our grandchildren are being taught manners and how to behave in a restaurant. Apparently, some parents believe in placing all the children at one end of the table in a free for all with total disregard for those dining around them.

"Upon arrival, the hostess was less than friendly and since we were 20 minutes early, she told us our table was not ready. After enjoying a cocktail in the lounge with the live music, I approached the hostess again at 7:30, where again she was less than friendly or apologetic and didn't even know the correct number in my party. Again she told me they didn't have a table available yet. Finally, at 8:00 I again approached the hostess desk where the manager happened to be standing and explained our situation. With that, the manager quickly ushered us to a table, apologized and was more than accomodating with the remainer of our time at the restaurant. For this reason, I would dine there again."

"Volare West and Volare downtown Chicago have delicious food, good service, and good ambience. The downtown location is a bit smaller but both have a great Italian flair! The west location was very busy and we had to wait 20+ minutes beyond our reservation. It was also quite loud and hard to talk over the noise. The food however was worth the wait! Our server was efficient and busy, felt a bit rushed."

"This was our first time eating at Volare. The service was excellent. In addition to the usual dishes seen at an Italian restaurant, there were some unique offerings as well. The food was delicious....Appetizer to dessert. The dining room was very vibrant. The room was full on the Saturday night we were there, however our group of six could still carry on a conversation as it was not too noisy. We look forward to returning again soon."

"We had a superb meal at Volare. The service was fabulous and every single item we ate was a "wow!" experience. The menu was exceptional and we had many items picked out already from the internet. When we got there they had 3 or 4 specials that sounded so good most of us went for them. We even had one diner (there were 8 of us) who wanted a pasta dish but was indecisive. The waiter had the chef make a special dish based on what she told him she wanted. Good wine list as well. The Belle Glos Pinot (2011) was an excellent choice for the price which was NOT marked up as much as most places. The 8 of us were just visiting and we all said we wish we were staying another night so we could go back. It was simply great. Don't miss it."

"We had an excellent server named Eric. The food was fantastic, as was the service. On member of our party had a special God Pinot Grigio that was excellent. Would recommend for "foodies", and regular diners. Also enjoyed the way dessert was shared, individual portions could be shared easily. We ate in the dining room, did not see the bar area."

"The food was good but didn't really care for the entire restaurant being in one room with the open kitchen at the one end. We were seated near the kitchen and serving area so it wasn't what I expected. The service was good though and so was the food."

"I had reservations and we were seated immediately, but after being seated we were forgotten about for 5-10 minutes. We were given no menus, water, or bread. Once our server came around to take our drink order, he didn’t even notice we were missing anything. When he brought us our drinks, we asked him for the items we were missing. He apologized, blamed the hostess, and got us the items we were missing. From there the service was outstanding. I’ve been to Volare many times. The service is always outstanding, so I was very shocked about what we went through during our last visit."

"We were seated in the bar area even though we had a reservation which normally would be OK but someone was smoking near the doors where we were sitting. They had a side area closed off where it looked like a covered beer garden. The problem was that they were letting people smoke right next to the door which was only 10 feet away from our table. Nobody likes to eat around smoke. It was difficult to get an idea of how the food tasted."

"We got there 30 minutes before our reservation and told them we were there and were going to have a drink at the bar. We ended up waiting 15 minutes over our reservation time and were the last to be called even after I already told them where we were again and that we were still waiting. The couple we were with were not happy that we had to wait when we had a reservation. This was my second time there. All in all the ambiance was very warm and friendly and we enjoyed the food very much. I would definitely go back again to try some of their other items."

"Food was fantastic. Service left a lot to be desired. Staff was quick to clear away dishes !! But then there was ALWAYS a wait to get another fork or knife. Finally we just reached over to the set up at another table and grabbed what we needed. Decor reminded me of a funeral home, bland and mono-chromatic for the most part.
We will go back for the food."

"Food and service are great. I've dined here often and whether it has been just my wife and I or a large group of friends the experience has been wonderful! The Nodino di Vitello is unbelievable – I’ve never had anything quite like it anywhere in the city - ask the chef to prepare however you like. The fish entrees are excellent and we always get one of the homemade pastas.. usually the pappardelle. When the weather is cooperating the outdoor dining is great fun... This is our favorite place outside of the city... no doubt."

"Service here is outstanding. The owner and manager both stopped by table to talk and check on our dinners. Waitress was very friendly and helpful and the bus boy kept bread and water on the table. The food is excellent. I had the braciole and my wife had the Chicken Parmesan. The tiramasu here is my wife's favorite."

"They don't honor Open Table reservations. The hostess has absolutely no clue about customer service. I will never go back and recommend those of you who don't enjoy "family ties" with the managers to stick with restaurants that honor their commitments. If you do go and you're told "just give me a second", count on waiting a half hour."

"Had the worst table in the place. Smack up against a VERY noisy kitchen, making conversation nearly impossible. Food was ok. When we asked for another table, we were moved one spot further from the kitchen, which made the situation a little better."

"This restaurant was recommended to me by my friend to celebrate my husbands birthday although I thought they would acknowledge it from the open table reservations. Other than that the food was incredible! We both had the black speghetti dish with seafood, oysters were amazing and the caesar salad was good! Our waiter Eric received more than a 20% tip. That only happens from us often! most times people arent deserving of 10%! His service was impeccable. Will visit again very soon and tell others!"
