"I wanted to like this place. It's cute and the service is friendly. There are a few tables outside which would be nice in the summer. We started with the Melanzane al Caprino (Grilled eggplant filled with goat cheese) which was tasty. We both had the evening specials, I had the truffle pasta and the hubby had the veal saltimboca. The veal was good but a little too salty. I was really excited at the idea of homemade pasta with mushrooms and truffle oil but the pasta was a bit chewy. Overall I really wanted to like the food but it was just ok for the price. I might give it another chance because the service was really good."

"When I rate this restaurant "Oustanding"......remember we eat here regularly. R children and grandchildren love the pasta and we do too. I get the bread crisp & lavoche is also excellent with tapinade. Rarely order items other than pasta (sauce flavor, pasta....cooked to perfection and hot, ...... all excelent). The grandchildren top it off it with Tortufo....a big hit.. Last night one member of our party ordered broiled salmon which she said was very good. Marco, Claudio, Julio all strive to deliver good service. We were nine persons....the restaurant was close to full and service was good. Carlo, owner, goes out of his way to assure the comfort of his clientele."

"One of the better choices for a good dish of pasta. We start with a tri colore salad followed by one of our favorites chosen from the following: Bolognaise, Seafood, Marinara, Rigatoni with Sausage or Lamb Ragu. Each is delicious, cooked to perfection and served very hot. Add good bread (flat and pizza dough) accompanied by a tapinade. Service is always caring. The owner is on the job daily."

"My wife and I took our college son and his girlfriend to dinner here. They twice brought my wife the wrong order - by the time the three of us had finished our dinners (they waiter ignored us the entire time!) I had to get up and ask the owner to just cancel her order. He acted like we were at fault. We were totally ignored during the entire meal. It was the worst service my wife and I had ever experienced in 24 years of marriage."

"Our home away from home. Eating out every night requires that we select carefully. The restaurant we frequent most (once a week) is Campagnola. Why? We love their pasta (Spaghetti Pescatora, Bolognese, lamb ragu, marinara, penne with sausage). We start with a tri colore salad which is excellent and bread and tapinade are very good. Waiters are very nice and service is usually quite good.....when rushed it slows down a bit, but never to a point that one could say that the service is inadequate. Carlo, owner, goes out of his way to ensure your comfort. Prices are very fair. Check their website on the internet. Have also enjoyed their chicken milanaise, but usually stick to the pasta."

"After having eaten at various trendy spots that fell short on our expectations but having hefty bills, my wife and I wanted to try something more established. Though this restaurant isn't a part of any scene, the food is good, reasonably priced and the service was very friendly. Carlo, the owner is a class act and very knowledgeable. The wine list is simple and affordable. We had the tricolore salad, grilled eggplant filled with cheese and the chicken marsala. All were great and would definitely come back again."

"Ambience was good, service was decent. The place was packed..but in terms of food, i have to say could have been better. i ordered a seafood spaghetti;there was calamari rings, small size clams and mussels and regular size shrimp. i've been to other restaurants where the seafood quality is much superb. All in all, when you combine the ambience with the food and servie, i'd say it's average.."

"Noise level was too loud for our sizable group -- we couldn't really talk to each other at all. Food was very good as usual. However, we had a negligent server who forgot part of our order, screwed up several things, and was not very attentive. Too bad. I've been there at other times when the restaurant was much quieter and the service was much better."

"Our first experience at this restaurant is overall, EXCELLENT! We were drawn to this place because I was craving for "squid ink pasta" & "veal osso bucco" and they have BOTH! I also got the GROUPON for $45 for $100 worth of food which made it even "sweeter"! I celebrated my 43rd b-day here on 01/30/13. Both dishes mentioned above were flavorful and delicious, not to mention my daughter's bow-tie pasta w/ Carbonara sauce, my son's "creamy" lasagna and my sister's Fruitti Di Mare Risotto. I already recommended this place to friends and family!"

"We have been to Campagnola several times over the years. The food is very good and their prices are moderate. Particularly good is the service; that is, the owner and waiters are very friendly. They either have great memories or a great computer program because they remember us and give us "our usual table". It's a good place before a show at the Geffin or Royce Hall."
