"We arrived for our 7:00 p.m. reservation and were seated immediately. The service was excellent. We had appetizers that consisted of Iceberg Salad and Scallops. Both of which were good. For dinner my fiance' ordered the Bone in New York Strip. It was excellent. Extremely tasty. I ordered Lamb Chops which came out rare and had to send them back. They came back overcooked and had no taste to them. I was extremely dissappointed and advised the waiter afterwards. We had desert which was good. They did offer us a glass of Port on the house which was good as well. Perhaps it was a bad nite for Lamb Chops. I would go back but would not order anything but the Steak since it was delicious!!!!"

"We were the only people in the restaurant for quite a while and the air conditioning was blowing at max speed right at us. After numerous requests, they were finally able to control it. Why would it take 15 minutes to figure it out? We were only 3 people. I had called earlier to see if I could bring a piece of homemade birthday cake for my son. We were just visiting from out of town and bringing him right back to college. They told us that there would be an extra plate charge for that. Really guys? This is Whippany NJ....get a grip. My steak was full of gristle."

"A disappointing visit to a local place we have enjoyed in the past. The 2 ceaser salads ordered were bland and uninteresting, consisting of cut romaine, 4 small very croutons and store bought grated parmesean cheese. Filets had little taste and no seasonings, and not hot when brought to the table. Needed steaksauce. One was undercooked and had to be sent back. Meanwhile, one diner had no plate and side dishes got cold quickly, although tasty. Servers made the mistake of serving salads to the wrong guests and then later mixed up the filets, serving the larger one to a lady and a petite to a man. Big pet peeve...at over $200 a couple, this meal should have been flawless. We will stick to Roots in Summit when we want a great steak dinner."

"The restaurant was very old school and stuffy from the menu to the atmosphere to the wait staff. I prefer a lighter, more vibrant and fun experience with a modern menu when dinning, especially at a steak house. The steak was over seasoned with a salt/pepper crust. The salt/ pepper masked any flavor the strip steak may of had. raw clams / Oysters from the seafood tower were average, Scallops had a peculiar hard texture that I never experienced and I didn't care for. Tuna tartar was good but also over seasoned."

"I made a special request that it was my sons birthday . I noted it on my reservation firm, I called and told the host... And I even mentioned it casually to the waiter. When they brought dessert there was no candle or mention of his birthday in any way. Very disappointing as I had my cameras all ready for his reaction . Very big oversight!
Also, while everything else was delicious , I ordered the 2 lb steamed lobster. The claws were very good, but the tail was so chewy and dry that I couldn't eat more then the first bite( which ultimately was spit out into my napkin because I couldn't chew it) I didn't complain because it was supwrbowl Sunday and we were in a bit if a rush to get home and watch the game.
Not sure I would return..."

"A MUST TO AVOID. Without a doubt one of the worst high priced steakhouses ever. Service non existent. Not attentive or caring. Overpriced on every item in relation to value. Not the highest quality anything."
