For 30 years, the Richardson have been insuring a fine dining experience in beautifully historic Sudbury, Mass. Bullfinchs prides itself on cooking with the very best ingredients from the most reliable and highest quality purveyors. Come to our beautiful bar and enjoy a Dancing Bear Martini or sit and relax on the seasonal patio. We are open for dinner nightly. On Sundays, Bullfinchs features a live JAZZ BRUNCH (Voted Top Five Brunches in New England) and kids always eat FREE on Sunday nights! Bullfinchs offers a gluten-free and a vegetarian menu, as well.
Planning a special Occasion?.... owners Peggy and Scott Richardson will customize a menu just for you!
Every Tuesday night, we offer a demonstration cooking school with multiple opportunites to taste, discuss, observe and cook. Cuisine-based classes are Tuesdays at 6:30. Each course is paired with appropriate wines. Nothing encourages friendship more than shared good food, wine and conversation.

"We came to celebrate a birthday (which we hadn't said beforehand but the hostess spotted the gift bag) and the staff brought a balloon to the table and gave us a lovely dessert (without asking) at the end of our meal. It was very attentive and lovely. We were there during the Sunday jazz brunch. The jazz singer had a great voice but the music wasn't loud enough to impede conversation during our meal. The food was very fresh and tasty. An excellent place for a special and relaxing meal."

"Began with a couple apps. and decided to skip dinner after.
Ordered the Arugala salad and Calamari.
The Salad was boring, a pile of arugala, some beets, I dont even remember what else except the balsamic glaze almost made it palatable.
The Calamara was an undercooked gooey mess, we left half of it (unedible), it was bland and the waiter forgot the sauce and was impossible to find to ask for it. The one bright spot was the Hostess who we flagged down and was happy to get the sauce for us and even asked if we wanted the calamri replaced as it probably was cold for all the time we waited. (It was but we didnt want to wait for it to be replaced) Turned out the sauce was sweet chile sauce straight from a bottle but it was better than nothing."

"Bullfinchs always is changing with the seasons. They work very dilengently to provide cusine that brings a taste of exciement and satisfaiction to the pallet. There wine list is small but unique. The service is personable and you can just relax at your favorite table or location and take in the well thought out decor of the resturant or enjoy the evening outside in a humbel but well kept patio area. "My family visited Bullfinchs for the first time for a birthday celebration. We were a party of 7 and our table location was great. The staff put out a huge balloon (which they gave us). Because it was my brother's birthday, they brought him dessert, and gave him a gift card. We had a great experience and delicious food. Excellent service! I highly recommend for special occasions."

"I had never been to this restaurant before but it was recommended to me. I took a friend to celebrate her birthday and went for Sunday brunch. Food was good, had a nice jazz band and service was excellent. Very quaint and small restaurant which made the experience lovely. And since I indicated it was my friend's birthday celebration on my Open Table reservation, the restaurant was great in decorating the table (confetti and balloon), a birthday dessert and the jazz band played happy birthday. Made the day really fun. Would recommend Bullfinchs and would go back again."

"It took at least an hour and a half to get our salads,and another half hour for dinner. Athe meat was excellent and sides were fine not spectacular. Dessert was good. "I did not care for the table location, right next to the entrance, which increased the noise level. The food was good but not great. My wife's english muffin with her eggs benedict, was burnt. Not over cooked. Burnt. My breakfast included sausage (2) which were huge and very tasty. Our server was less than friendly but did an adequate job. We have been to this restaurant before and enjoyed it very much. This time they were just a little off."

"We attended on a Fiday night so it was more crowded than usual. They honored the reservation and the table was nice. "Ordinarily, Bullfinchs is an excellent experience with a great menu and prompt service. This night was advertised as a Cinco de Mayo celebration night and a Mexican fare was promised. Well, the Mexican fare was one entre and a couple of appetizers, all of which were very average at best and more Southwestern or South American than Mexican. We should have stayed with their everyday menu, but after all, it was the Cinco de Mayo! We know better now and hopefully Bullfinchs will stick to do what they do best. I do recommend the restaurant otherwise."

"My wife and I have been coming to Bullfinches for years, and have always been impressed by their ability to deliver a great dinner. With no plans for the weekend, I was excited to get their email for the Cinco de Mayo dinner on Sunday. While we were not expecting an authentic Mexican dinner (on this inauthentic holiday), we were hoping for Bullfinches great spin on this cuisine.
There were only a handful of specials, a beef empanada appetizer, a halibut on rice and beans, and perhaps one other. We started with the empanada - nothing great, and then the waitress said the halibut was being replaced by salmon. It too was disappointingly average. Not up to the usual standard. Next time I'll avoid dishes far away from the mainstream."

"Excellent! Haven't been for awhile and forgot how much I enjoy Bullfinchs. Our table had Maddy's Tuna (ask for rare), seafood ravioli, and salmon with corn chowder sauce, all were really tasty. Wine was fabulous. I really like being able to order a 4 oz. portion in all menu choices."

"Bullfinch's is a great place to go for a romantic dinner, for a night out with friends or for that special occasion. The service was attentive, the wine recommendations were spot on and the food was delicious and cooked perfectly! Certainly a location that should be on your "must visit" list!"

"Pleasantly surprised to find they had an excellent Monday night prime rib special at $15. When the waiter learned we were celebrating a birthday, a large balloon & table confetti appeared as well as a special birthday dessert at the end of the meal & a $20 gift certificate for our next visit!"

"We mentioned that we were celebrating my son's recent birthday and a giant balloon arrived at the table as well as a dessert with a candle in it. It was busy there but the waitress and staff were very attentive and helpful. Food was delicious-not inexpensive but perfect for a special night out."

"Three girlfriends looking for a martini brunch? Bullfinches is perfection! We had so much fun and our waiter was just what the doctor ordered - funny and attentive. The food was excellent. Two of us have gluten issues and found delicious options on the brunch menu. Can't wait to go again."

"We brought my in-laws, who were visiting from Buffalo, to Sunday's Jazz brunch and they simply LOVED it! In the initial reservation I made 3 weeks before the visit, I had written a request to be seated where the trio would be playing. Once we got there, the restaurant was already full, but I noticed there was an empty table right in the front, across from the Jazz trio. OMG, they had actually read my request & saved the best table for us!!! Thank you so much for having done that!! We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The food, the drinks, the music, the service, and the overall atmosphere simply made a memorable afternoon. Boston Strong!!!"

"We went with a good sized group, which our waitress handled most professionally. We were all very happy with our food, including those who had to ask for special orders. Again ,just wonderful service! We were almost the last group in the place, but no one made a fuss about it - just treated us like welcome guests. I keep going back for the nice variety of both food and drink, great service and the so-well-known brunch on Sundays!"
