"The fact that they gave all the mothers in the restaurant a gift was great. Lets start with the appetizer. My mother had the soft shell crab, which she thought was good. As far as the entrees go the food was poor. My mother and I had the cobb salad. They used iceberg lettuce which in my opinion was low quality. We both opted to have chicken on the salad. Let me say this was the most bland chicken I have ever had. In retrospect I should have went to dine somewhere else."

"Lets say what we liked a lot: wine and appetizers.
For the rest: we arrived and they didnt recognize our reservation, even with name and numbers, after some minutes we had a seat.
At the beginning waiter arrived and everything seemed ok, but after appetizers service became incredibly slow, we waited a lot and when our fish arrived , it was dry. We just think they forgot it in the oven.
About dessert, good not outstanding.Sorry."

"Brought my son here for his 16th birthday and was pleasantly delighted! The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and inviting. Plan on celebrating my twins 16th birthday here as well. Would Definately reccomend this restraunt to anybody."

"Gordon Ramseys Maze was Amazing! Food, Staff and Ambiance were all excellent. When arriving, each table had a small gift bag on it with a gift for Mom since it was Mother's Day. We had the Prix Fix Theatre Menu so the meal was affordable. It was so good, we might save up to splurge on the Gordon Ramsey the next time. Appetizer, meal and dessert were YUM."

"As a cook, i exected a high quality with no error from a restaurant who held the name of gordon ramsay. First, sometimes the service wasn't equal for everybody: the table beside us received some explanations about the plates being served to them. But when we were served, no explanation was provided. "If you like butter, you will like Maze. The natural taste of the food was overly masked with butter, which was unfortunate as everything was cooked and presented very well. Good for the experience if you have money floating around, otherwise you'll probably leave more satisfied somewhere else. Desserts were tasty however."

"Never has one paid so much for so little! From the $10/bottle for sparling water to the 2 oz portion of the Long Island Duck as a 'middle plate'. Don't get me wrong, the food was outstanding from a taste and experience perspective. It was just that, well it was just that - a taste. Consumed more calories from the single cocktail and glass of wine that from the food. Wasn't expecting potions like one would get from an Italian restaurant or High End Steak House, but this was rediculous - the portions made tapas look large. The wait staff was very good as was the decor and noise level. Guess I paid for the pleasure to get raked by Gordon, just like he does on his TV show..."

"I entertained clients on 5/2 and we had a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious, the presentation was delightful, the service was spot on, and the servers were attentive to our every need. The ambiance was chic without being stuffy, and the music was soft and unobtrusive which allowed for conversation. I will definitely be back!"

"For pescetarians like us, there was a good amount of fish selections on the dinner menu. We ordered skate and sea bass. Both were really good, especially the skate. The preparation was very light but tasty. There wasn't much selection for dessert. For $12 a dessert, you would expect s reasonable size of serving. The panna cotta can be consumed in 3 small bites! For comparison purposes for foodies out there - we would say over-all, the food is better than Cafe Boulod's, DW50 or Babbo. Not as good as Morimoto, The Lamb's Club, or L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon (which is closing at The Four Seasons Hotel in June 2013)"

"This is the third time I have visited Maze since it opened and I can confidently say if it continues the way it is now it won't be around for much longer. I first went as it opened some 6 years ago and both the food and service were exemplary. It was creative without being pretentious and the waiting staff really knew their stuff....what a difference a few years makes. Dreadful, overcooked food and rude, unhelpful waiting staff...more concerned with having a laugh with each other than tending their tables. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY."

"What makes a night out at the Maze so special is not only the great quality of the food but the extremely friendly and very professional service by the waiting staff. The sommelier is also to be commended, his recommendations are spot-on.
All this takes place in a Restaurant who's understated decor resembles more a common French Cafe in stark contrast to the very upscale dining experience."

"Beautiful restaurant with excellent service. Me and my fiancé ordered the 3 course price fixed dinner, ( $44 per person only offered from 5-6:30) and were very satisfied and definitely full. I had read reviews that the portions were too small but I did not feel that way at all. The dessert was amazing. We both chose the chocolate fondant with almond Ice cream. Definitely recommend that. Overall a great experience. Worth checking out."

"I booked this as part of a surprise trip for my husbands 30th birthday, staff were brilliant and very attentative would recommend this restaurant!food was amazing, literally melted in your mouth! "Our waiter, Manuek, was wonderful. I had mentioned prior to our visit that it was for my daughter's 21at birthday celebrations. Manuek made it very special. He looked after us superbly and showed us around the kitchen afterwards. The maitre "d was also fantastic. Thank you so much for a lovely evening. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed it."

"My wife and I celabrated our Silver Anniversary here. I chose this place because my wife was more enamoredwith Mr. Gordan Ramsay than she is with me these days!. None-the- less, we had a beautiful time. My wife and I both loved the food; desert and the wine. The host and servers were especially kind and pleasant. They even showed us around the kitchen-- when my wife really thought she was going to meet Mr. Ramsey as a "special" Anniversary gift. However she soon found out that there really was no surprise of that kind--but still meeting everyone in the kitchen really made her happy. It was the highlight of the entire evening, she had mentioned.
Thank you all for making this Silver Anniversary so memorable for me and my wife."

"we thought that the food was outstanding. The atmosphere was very nice as well the only thing that surprised us was that the maitre could not remember who ordered what. There was only the 3 of us and even with couples of 2 he should be able to remember what people ordered. The waiters left a very good impression, well trained, enjoyable, friendly.
We where so satisfied overall that we decided next time we visit New York that we stay in the London so we can have our meal every day to enjoy."

They may rely solely on the name to get people in the door, however, the mundane food and lacking service will ensure that it will be a one time only experience for patrons. If you want to try a celebrity chef, check out one of the many great Batali restaurants, or an April Bloomfield establishment."

"I may have had too great of an expectation for a "celebrity" restaurant, but no one raises/lowers like Gordon
1. The wait staff were excellent
2. The wine list - expansive
3. The cauliflower soup - excellent (Creamy and accomplished the desire effect with the added flavour).
4. Scallops - Bland and disappointing. Started with a blank slate and remained that way. So much of a missed opportunity.
5. Main - (Striploin) Definately under the warming light much too long!! Whole plate was luke warm at best. That aside....the taste were bland.

"We loved this restaurant! It was so much fun! The food was delicious, the service very attentive! Especially the sommelier, absolutely fantastic! We felt the food was very reasonably priced considering the quality. Our 12 year old daughter who is Coeliac was with us and she loved her meal, especially the gluten free bread! We enjoyed it so much we popped in for a drink a couple of days later. We will definitely be going back when next in New York!"

"The food was great we had the tasting menu , the wine was also good we had a nice white to go with our fish and a fab red with our steak , the only
promble was the steak was cold so we had to send back two so when they came we had to eat on our own , the wait staff where very nice . The meal was very expensive and with 76 in tax and 117 in service it was not somethink we would do offend"

"We were not made to feel welcome at all. In spite of having booked our table and reconfirming our reservation by phone once in New York, we were shown to a very dark table at the back of the restaurant. We requested a change of table which was granted only after complaining to the manager who never again bothered to check with us and see if everything was to our liking. The food was nothing to rave about either. We had also requested a light since it was so dark at the first table that it was impossible to read the menu. Needless to say, no light was provided !!! Not a memorable 38th. wedding anniversary at all!!!
I hope Mr. Ramsay looks into this. We dined at Maze in London years back and it was pefect - not this time, unfortunately."

"Music was obnoxiously loud. This was a business lunch at 12:15 on a wed. Bass was so loud the water glasses were shaking as was the banquette. Asked repeatedly to have the volume reduced to no success."

"Although the food was quite delicious (I had the sirloin and I wasn't 100% impressed but everyone else seemed to love their food) we had reservations for 830pm and did not get seated until a little after 9.... last time I checked you make reservations so that you do not have to wait half an hour for a table. The restaurant itself was quite loud and it was tough to hear everyone around the table. When the food was ready the waiter's help stood around the table and waited until someone told them to bring the food to our table ..... thankfully it didn't get too cold. Overall: Food Great but the service isn't worth what you pay at the end of the night."

"We had a fantastic time. We switched our table a few times and the staff was extremely accommodating, and even gave us the table number so next time we know what table to ask for. We were there to celebrate husband's birthday, and they gave him a special desert and we were given some champagne to celebrate. We could not have asked for a better time. My husband was hoping to try beef Wellington, and someone from the staff took our email address to tell us when it will be on the menu in the future. We look forward to trying it when it does come on the menu."

"We traveled along way from Canada to nyc. We love Gordon Ramsay and wanted to try maze. Our meals were delicious and the service was very good. We had the fixed chef pairing menu and worth it! "Very good food as expected but the risotto was undercooked which was shocking given multiple risotto problems seen on Hells Kitchen. Our waiter was a bit snobby I think because we brought our kids. He talked me out of the Chefs tasting menu and I thought he was doing us a favor with the timing of the couses, but I overheard him talk another table out of it as well. Service was not up to par for a restaurant of this caliber. Normally you get a two or three person team working a table, but not here. We started to get ignored after the main course as the restaurant got busier . I was really excited coming to NY and being able to eat at one of Chef Ramsay's restaurants, maybe my expectations were too high."
