"I've had lunch here a few times with clients and my only real complaint is the attitude of the host staff...not sure why last Thursday's host thought arrogance was appreciated, but someone may want to inform him that it's a definite turn-off. My client noted this as well and mentioned it once we were at our table. Otherwise lunch was pleasant and the food was good."

"It is hard to enjoy when the initial interaction is so very poor. There was nobody in the restaurant and they proceeded to seat me at 4 of the worst seats in the place. As a frequent visitor it makes no sense but to say I can take my business elsewhere and will from now on."

"I have never been disappointed when dining there - - the service, the staff, everyone is so gracious. When referring guests, they all have returned with nothing but the highest comments. Kudos to Mission!"

"This used to contain high-quality chunks of grilled chicken and was a "composed salad" with vegetables left in their fuller form (full leaf lettuce, for example). Instead, it was served recently with cheapo sliced chicken breast cold-cut meat and the vegetable (particularly lettuce) all shredded up. Dumping a bunch of corn kernels into the bowl and pre-mixing them with the lettuce -- NOT a typical ingredient in Cobb Salad, either as a garnish or (as was here) a filler -- did not save the kitchen, and only made it worse. In short, if I wanted a chopped salad I would have ordered it -- this was a major disappointment and, given the chicken cold cut "stuff", a value rip that Mission does not usually practice."

"We had a birthday celebration at Mission. The service was outstanding...never once did a glass go empty and the waiter paid close attention to us as well as the other tables in his station. Food was very, very good. There was even something vegan there for our birthday guy to feast on. The omlette of the day is very popular and such good comfort food. It is definitely easy to get in/out if you have 1 hour for lunch."

"Mission never fails to deliver! The staff is wonderful, the food is absolutely amazing (had the mac n' cheese on recommendation from our server and WOW!), especially their deviled eggs, love that they offer them as an appetizer. Saturday nights are half price bottles of wine, no restrictions! We absolutely love Mission and can't say enough good things about this restaurant!"

"The menu is spartan in its descriptions of the food items, so it doesn't do a good job of setting expectations, especially when their preparation strays dramatically from the norm. For example, I ordered the "lasagna," expecting a nice layered presentation of pasta, tomato sauce, cheese, and the chicken. Instead, what I received was a couple of loose lasagna noodles, tomato sauce and cherry/grape tomato halves with sliced, grilled chicken on top. It was not at all what I was expecting, and honestly wasn't very good. A disappointment from a restaurant with this kind of reputation."

"Five of us went for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night. Our server was very friendly and gave us great service. The filet was excellent. We ordered key lime pie and strawberry ice cream to share and ended up ordering a second helping of each because they were so good. We will go back again."

"1/2 price Wine Bottles on Tuesday and Saturday! The food was good, not outstanding. I found the Lobster Stuffed Sole a bit disappointing; since it was rolled, the sole was a bit overcooked and the interior was not really hot. The lobster garnishing the plate was lukewarm as well. The green beans could have used another minute or two as they were more raw than cooked al-dente. We also had the Prime Rib. It was very good, although nothing special. For dessert we split the Bread Pudding. Very large portion! Again, it was good, just nothing special. I thought there was too much sauce, particularly chocolate. It was unevenly reheated. There were a few cold spots. Service was outstanding!"

"The food was outstanding! The portions were generous, well plated and very flavorful. The staff was attentive without making us feel rushed. We requested a quiet table so were seated in a large booth as far away from the bar as possible..perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience."

"I eat at Mission regularly. Normally it is always a top notch experience. Last Wednesday was not. Our server clearly forgot to put our order in, as we waited more than 1/2 hour to get our entrees. This never happens at Mission, so I'll completely overlook it, but it was clear that the bar area where we were seated was understaffed."

"Have always enjoyed Mission for lunch so thought we would try for dinner. The food did not disappoint - it was delicious but the restaurant was only a third filled so it felt kind of lonely for a Saturday night."

"A solid option for a business lunch in downtown Minneapolis. Menu is filled with the right mix of options to serve a wide range of guests, and is executed well. Service was friendly, professional, and attentive. No surprises, but that is a good thing when seeking a quality spot for a conversational lunch. Location in IDS Center is convenient and easy for all to find."

"There is a place for a very good restaurant that serves very good comfort food, in an excellent atmosphere, by a highly trained staff, managed by a great general manager. Mission Kitchen and Bar is that restaurant in the twin cities. Anoosh Ansari is the best restauranteur in Minnesota, he has single handedly improved the food scene in Minneapolis, through several of his varied restaurants. His attention to details is paying off in this very good restaurant."

"Probably should have figured this out on my own based on the name of the soup, but the spicy sausage soup almost burned my mouth off. I couldn't eat it during my meeting because it was making me literally choke. The bread basket sat empty, so I just stopped eating the soup. I guess the moral of the story is that if this restaurant says spicy, they mean it. I have had numerous other very pleasant experiences at this establishment."

"This is a good place for lunch. The food is consistently good and I have been there many times. However the service at this visit was not as good as it normally is. I would recommend this place for its convenience and consistency."

"The food was good. I tried the ceviche because had never had it before and had seen it made on cooking shows so often. It tasted good, but it wasn't what I was expecting. It seemed more like a pico de gallo with a few shrimp in it. For dinner I got the lobster stuffed sole. Again, it was good, but not worth raving about. To me it seemed the lobster was a little over cooked. My favorite part of the dish was the green beans."

"Mission has clearly found the formula for survival in this IDS building location that domed several predecessors. Imaginative, reasonably-priced lunch menu that turns over often enough to stay fresh without rapidly "disappearing" favorites. One ofmthe best spots in town for a god business lunch."

"i never go to Minneapolis without a meal at Mission. The staff always makes a point to treat you like a valued guest, the food is always top quality, and if you just want to hang out at the bar it is a nice group of people there. Dependable, high quality without prevention experience. Go."

"It was a perfect experience from start to finish. Dan, the manager, gave us a warm welcome and Danita, the server, provided personal, yet professional and polished service. Highly recommend the ceviche, duck breast and salmon. The bread pudding is the best I've ever had; I dare you to stop once you've started. Consistently excellent, warm and delicious-- isn't this why you go out?"

"I ordered the Pork Medallion Salad, and it was only so-so. The pork had great texture and tenderness, but the taste wasn't spectacular. I ended up leaving most of the pork on the plate and only eating the greens, so really I ended up eating an expensive mixed green salad. I have had other items from the menu in previous visits and they were much better than this salad. I like the service and the atmosphere, so I'll continue to dine there, but probably won't order that salad again."
