A refined restaurant with Mediterranean flavors in the Big Apple. If you are missing Mediterranean cooking and a romantic atmosphere, ever rarer in a great metropolis such as NY, L'Ybane New York is the ideal place where you can find them again.
Soft deep tones and candlelight will cunningly embrace you in a classy ambience, and the flavorsome Mediterranean cuisine will take you on a trip away from the usual US prepackaged taste sensations. Welcome to L'Ybane New York ...
"OK venue for pre-theater dining but not nearly as nice in person as website would lead you to believe. It is not really a Mediterranean restaurant, more a pub / all purpose restaurant with some Lebanese mezza dishes.. Rather crude tables, noisy bar up front. Food is okay, but nothing special. Avoid if you are seeking good Middle Eastern food."

"The food was "eh" and the service "fine" but when the bill came and they charged $5.00 for a Diet Coke I wrote this restaurant off. The location is great for the theater and would be a reliable choice had they chosen not to rip off customers."

"Food was a disappointment - strictly fair across the board. Really wanted to like it, as it is a nice space, great location and service was solicitous and efficient on a busy night. It's sister restaurant was better - La Carafe."

"There were 4 of us. got the appetizer special--$20 each for 10 pre-selected appetizers that we could all share. Lots of food. We all left satisfied. Waiter was great. Would definitely return."

"Tasty appetizers, fresh salads, main entrees not really authentic lebanese, but yummy. Really nice service (good job guys!), casual-romantic ambience. Will go back if I am in the hood."

"The waiter was rude and condescending .We had to argue to get him to agree to serve us the specials that were listed as you walk in the restaurant. However the food was very good.so disappointed was looking forward to a new alternative in the theater district."

"Food was OK. The hummus and tsatzki was really good but the main entrees were very average. I ordered the steak frites and my steak was full of fat and not very tasty. Probably will not be back anytime soon."

"The atmosphere was great, love the dark lighting and candle/flowers on all tables. The service was pretty good, not the best I've had. As for the food, we were disappointed. We ordered 2 appetizers, the calamari was fantastic and the spinach wrap was just okay. For dinner we ordered a steak (medium-rare) and tuna (rare), both were very overcooked and lost a lot of flavor."

"The reason i picked this restaurant for my Daughter and I was the great selection of food choices. I wanted a unique restaurant that isn't in our local areas back home. Researching the Internet and then looking at Open Table, I thought L'ybane was perfect.
We both had a great time at this restaurant. Reminded me of living abroad. My daughter enjoyed the Mussels a lot.
You can not go wrong at this restaurant. It is definitely a keeper and one I will bring my husband to on our next trip to New York."
