"Great meal. Prices for the appetizers were expensive. $12.50 for soup and $19.95 for salad seems a bit much, along with my $11 martini. The entree prices were what I expected though. We were thankful that we were able to bring our baby in and she had a seat."

"My friends and I were celebrating our over 35 year friendship and the opportunity to escape everyday routine to spend a weekend together. As the Tratorria has a long history in Whistler, it seemed the obvious choice for a dinner out. The food was delicious; we all chose a pasta selection. We appreciated that we were able to have small portiion salads with our meals. The service was wonderful with all our needs carefully attended to."

"This was a nice restaurant away from the hustle and bustle of the main square of Whistler. The food was very good but very pricey. They have a very extensive wine list but a tad expensive. I paid $15.00 for a glass of white wine. The service was excellent. We would go back again."

"The only problem we encountered was the mother at the next table who chose this dining experience to lecture her daughter on manners and how to interact with wait staff. Repeatedly! Ithe tables were close enough together that we had no choice but to listen."

"This is my third time back at this restaurant - a go to when I'm in Whistler. Love everything about it - and most importantly the food. Great staff that knows about the dishes and will answer questions about them. Excellent experience, yet again."

"A great italian restaurant in the heart of Whistler. A vibrant restaurant that offers an excellent range of choices and classics. We frequently go here and the food is always very good, with interesting specials. It has been one of the most reliable and favorite restaurants for us for years, with excellent service. Book early, they are always busy!"

"Food was very good and service excellent. The pasta servings were surprisingly large so as a result neither my wife not I were able to finish our meal. We had appetizers so would recommend an appetizer and main or main and dessert but not all three! We had a great BC wine that complemented the meal nicely."

"This restaurant is way too over priced. A simple pasta dish should not be $25. We didn't think it was worthy of the high prices. The service was very good and our waiter great."

"This is traditional Italian fare, nothing very creative, but it has been good quality in the past. We expected a lot more for the $40 entrées than a pile of mashed potatoes and overcooked veal and prawns. Everyone's plate looked the same regardless of what we had. It is not worth the steep price. There are much better restaurants in Whistler that provide incredible value for a lot less money, like Elements!"

"one of our favourite restaurants in whistler, never failed to have a good meal here. more atmosphere in the evening than at lunch but this is a ski resort where most people are on the mountain at lunchtime so... great service makes us for it though."

"Made a reso for 4, 2 of us arrived first. When the second couple arrived the hostess sent them to the other Umberto's as they could no longer find the reservation, despite them telling her they were at the right place . Maitre d' came along to tell us what had happened and that they had contacted the second location by phone. After waiting 60 mins, we finally got ahold of our guests and they hadn't been told they were sent away in error. Staff didn't seem to care and organization seemed to be lacking. Once we did eat, the food was good which you would expect for $400+"

"Everything was amazing from the service, to the attentive manager who was everywhere at once making sure that your dinner was nothing short of divine, to the perfect rendering of dishes with just the right amount of spice and herbs to tantalize the palette."

"The restaurant already has a high rating, but I want to add that each time we go the service is always attentive and the waiters are very helpful in making choices from the menu. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about wines. We had a relaxing and delightful experience."

"Well, the food was as advertised and did not disappoint. Even the common ceases salad was among the best. Crab cakes yummy. Pasta to make any Italian proud. The wine list could use more choices under $70 a bottle. There are lots of very good wines available for under $25, so why not buy those and charge $45-50? Second, at times the room got too loud for us to hear each other. Consider having one room for parties of 4 or fewer."

"Great service and ambiance let down by really poorly cooked food. Technically very poor. Filo pastry soggy, pasta overlooked and soup that looked and tasted like baby food. The tiramisu was dry and tasteless, a really poor effort. For a restaurant with this reputation we were hugely underwhelmed. The price was excessive for what was on offer. The waiting team were good and the wine list was extensive. Overall not worth the money I'm afraid."

"Waier didn't know wines. When we asked what he would recommend, he took to reading the wines from the menu. Clearly he doesn't know wine. Overall restaurant is very noisy and if there is something that can dampen the noise, that would enhance the experience tremendously. We eat at the restaurant minimum two times on our annual vacation to whistler. Often bring friends, but our last visit was less than enjoyable . Food is always good."
