"The meal was great... But over seasoned. Even after a long day of skiing I didn't need that salt. But lovely service. Not particularly cutting edge dishes but solid. Had hoped for more based on the $40 entree"

"Always a great dinner at Umberto's when skiing Whistler. If ever I have to choose a restaurant in the village I pick this one as they never disappoint us and the food is superb!"

"For the last night of an excellent holiday in Whistler the girlfriend and I decided to spoil ourselves a little and splash out on Il Caminetto. Now, it is not cheap, but then nor are any of the restaurants around here, however the food is very good and the service is excellent. We both went for fish options and were not disappointed - very fresh and full of flavour. One slight gripe is that the desserts look a little over-priced, but our Tiramisu was very nice all the same. All in all well worth a visit, just try to forget how much you're spending."

"Had a wonderful dinner/evening at il Caminetto di Umberto with a party of 16!! We had 8 adult and 8 kids (9-14 year olds) at two tables. The wait staff did a great job of making the evening pleasurable for both groups. Our family always plans a dinner here when we come to Whistler. It is truly one of the best restaurants in the Village. Definitely would give it a solid thumbs up!!"

"Excellent food and waiter was particularly helpful. Great wine list with wide selection and range of prices. Being Valentines Day and a relatively early sitting, there were a number of young children, and it was a bit noisy, but understandable.
Seating process was a notable weak spot. Although there were many open tables for two in various locations (which were open for most of the time we were there, (so a "reserved table" excuse doesnt wash) the young maitre d took us to a table at the entrance to the kitchens. When we asked if there was another, he did redirect us, but still in a very busy traffic and family area. Being "polite Canadians", we took the table, but it didn't get things off to a good start."
