Known for its fresh, high-quality food and vibrant nightlife atmosphere, Sapporo’s dramatic exterior is framed with giant torches that light the Scottsdale sky. The interior is equally dramatic and includes an elegant elliptical bar where the passion-mango martini is a local favorite. The restaurant’s menu includes a variety of premium sushi and Teppanyaki as well as classic and contemporary Asian specialties, such as Grilled Black Cod glazed in Miso; delicately fried Tempura, and even a spicy take on Hawaiian poki.
Sapporo’s popular Happy Hour specials highlight the restaurant’s creative cocktail menu and is available seven days a week from 3-7pm in the lounge and on the patio. Reverse Happy Hour is offered Thursday – Saturday 10pm to close.

"We had not been to Sapporro for several years and, upon returning, questioned a favorite dish that did not appear on the menu. Our waitress, who was fairly new, did not recall this dish and offered what she thought might be similar. However, once Molly, the Manager or Assistant Manager stepped in, she checked with the kitch staff and the Chef who remembered this peppered tuna with lobster dipping sauce and prepared this wonderful dish for us. It was delicious and we especially want to thank Molly who went out of her way to make our evening enjoyable."

"Although the food and service were very good, having a reservation meant nothing to the airhead hostesses. Once seated, the restaurant was so noisy we have up yelling at one another and just ate and left. It must not bother a lot of people because it is the same experience I had there 5 years ago and would have written a similar review Other than the hostesses, everyone was quality."

"We were staying at Scottsdale resort and asked an employee where she would go for seafood. Without hesitation she said Sapporo, and gave us directions. I looked it up on Open Table and made a reservation for about 1 hour later. Best meal we had during our week long stay in Scottsdale. I had Salmon and my husband Mahi Mahi. Both cooked to perfection. Will definitely return if we make it back to Scottsdale."

"I went here to celebrate my birthday and it was PERFECT! They had a room in the back that sat 20 people so I booked the room. Last minute about 6 people cancelled but Sapporo was very understanding and still allowed me access to the room. The room was tucked away so we felt private and we all very much enjoyed everything. The food was excellent! The chef we had was HILARIOUS he did tricks like most other teppenyaki places but he also interacted with us. The servers we had were very nice, helpful, and very attentive to our party. At the end they offered to split the check without us asking and the proccess went very smoothly. All-in-All a perfect night!"

"My sister and I split combination of the filet and scallops. We each got three scallops each. That's a little rediculious when in$45 for an entre and there is a $10 split fee for the meal. The guy who cooked our food was awesome but the service was not so great. He was overwhelmed or more interested in the table next to us. "Our son wanted to go to Sapporo to celebrate his birthday -- he enjoys hibachi-style restaurants where they cook at your table. We had 4 people in our party. Each table is set for 8 people, however the staff added a party of 5 to our table. Very nice people but it was a bit crowded. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly however, we waited a long time for the chef to arrive after soup and salad. They apologized several times saying they were understaffed for the night. The food was good and served hot."

"It had been awhile since my wife and I had been to Sapporo's and, based upon our last visit we were very much looking forward to another. However, I must say that this experience was lacking the luster of the previous. To begin with, we sat for several minutes before anyone came after we were seated. Then, it was not our server but the manager (?) Mike who took our drink orders. Eventually our server showed up and though she was pleasant, she was overwhelmed by having too many tables to wait on. Our appetizer took a bit too long to arrive and then my wife's salad came before her entree which she had asked to have delivered at the same time. I must say that the food was very good, but the service continued to lack."

"Great but I rate the sushi over the teppenyaki. Sushi is absolutely out of this world. Try the MT. It may be the best sushi I've ever eaten. My second best is Rappongi in La Jolla, ca. Heading back tonight"

"Reserved online for a grill table for my husbands birthday & our kids first experience. They called wanting to move our reservation an hour later which didn't work for us so they said they would make it work. We were sat at a bar counter extending from the grill table looking at a wall. I mentioned that this wasn't the exerience we wanted & the lady came over,was super rude saying that this is a great spot. Finally she put us at one of their other grill tables but said we had to rush,$250 later & no refills, & still they didn't bother sitting anyone with us. Great chef but poor service on all other accounts."

"we missed our reservation time by 15 mins so unfortunately they had to give our table away, but they worked hard to make room for our party of 8. we were seated prob within 30 mins. was awesome service and great food!"

"Food and service were great. We celebrated a 9yr old birthday and it was lots of fun. Kid friendly for that age and up, but not little ones. The chef was fun to watch and interacted very well with all of us, but especially the birhtday boy :) The food is yummy!!
We had reservations at 7:15 and were running a few minutes late. They called me right at 7:15 to make sure we were coming and didn't give our table away (thank you) We arrived at 7:20 and walked right to our table.

"The food was really good. I was disappointed in the atmosphere. Although modern decor was stunning the layout was not relaxing. Crowded and noisy. The staff tried their best but the seating in congested and the you felt as though you were in a chain restaurant. Even PF Changs has a better and more personal ambiance."
