"Outstanding Chinese food, similar to East Coast, which is our favorite. Hot & sour soup 5 stars as is the whole fish and noodle dishes. One disappoint was the spare ribs, not really the glazed typical type we like, although very tender."

"The server in this particular restaurant was very rude. We had been going to this restaurant & had been recommedning this to friends & family for years. We usually come with a group. However, with the incidentthat happened last Sunday, I doubt that we will recommend this to our friends anymore."

"Have eaten here many times and it is normally truly excellent. Last night clearly had a different chef: recipe slightly different (shrimp had much too much breading), presentation was different from what we've seen from them previously, certain ingredients always in the dish were missing, etc). Still good, but not up to usual standards. Service was very good."

"Our server, Shaney, was very good. However, service was slow when we asked a busser to replace a missing fork; had to wait for it to start eating as I'm not adept using chop sticks. Also, a busser came by and refilled one water glass but not the others that were running low.
Seated in the middle of the restaurant although we had a reservation a couple of weeks in advance; noisy. Would have prefered a corner as we were with friends and wanted to talk.
The Candied Shrimp with Walnuts were wonderful. The Spicy Chicken Cups were tasty although bland. Overall, a good dining experience. Will go back."

"This is certainly the best Chinese restaurant in the Coachella Valley and one of the best we have been to anywhere. We went to one of the ones considered the "best of the best" by the local newspaper and wondered why they put it there. Apparently they haven't been to Joy."

"The food was average to quite good, depending on the dish. The egg rolls were over fried and had very thick coating and not all that tasty, however, the Kung Pao Shrimp was quite good and the fried rice was quite typical.
Overall it was an ok experience and I would go back and select only specific dishes and not too many at a time.
With only being there one time so far and the fact that chinese food can either be really great or extremely poor, it may take one more visit to determine this restaurant."

"My wife and I have eaten at Joy several times. This was the first time that we made a reservation over the computer. Joy is one of the undiscovered finest restaurants (and certainly the best Asian cuisine restaurant) in the Coachella Valley. We have made many recommendations to friends about Joy."

"We had a birthday celebration for a friend, attended by 3 couples. We had an excellent time. Seated at a round table with lazy Susan, we were comfortable and were able to converse easily in the fairly crowded restaurant.
Service was very attentive and cocktails were unique and enticing. Food was prompt, and very good. We didn't order any of the fancy menu items, but the Lemon Prawns were a standout. Prices were high compared to local shopping center Chinese food, but we all said we would come back to Joy."

"Have eaten here on numerous occasions. Service and food have always been great. Had reservations on 1/31 at 7pm. Got there early, restaurant empty. Waited 15 minutes and no service. Asked Manager for drinks....waited another 20 minutes and still no service. Got up and walked out. Pathetic service."
